Senior ‘Palestinian’ Journalist: Arafat Told Me He Went Along With Oslo Accords Because It Would Force Jews to ‘Leave Palestine Like Rats Abandoning a Sinking Ship’

17

Journalist Abd Al-Bari Atwan released an article in the Rai Al-Yawm online newspaer that revealed Yasser Arafat had told him he only supported the Oslo Accords to drive out the Jewish people — to force them to flee “like rats abandoning a sinking ship,” is how he reportedly put it.

Yasser Arafat

Arafat, former leader of the PLO, was a heavy supporter of Hamas and had worked with Hezbollah to bring arms to Gaza.

Despicable. Of course, the left loved Arafat.

More, from MEMRI:

To mark the 25th anniversary of the Oslo Accords, Palestinian journalist Abd Al-Bari Atwan, editor of the online newspaper Rai Al-Yawm, revealed in an article that the late Palestinian Authority (PA) president and PLO leader Yasser Arafat had told him in confidence that he did not believe in the Oslo Accords path but that he was going along with it because it was an opportunity “to bring the PLO and the resistance back to Palestine” and to drive out the Jews “like rats abandoning a sinking ship.” Atwan also noted in his article that Arafat had cooperated with, funded, and armed members of Hamas, and had coordinated with Hizbullah to dispatch ships bringing weapons to the Gaza coast. Arafat, he added, paid for this with his life, because he had “caused the outbreak of the armed Second Intifada and brought weapons from everywhere possible.”

The following are excerpts from Atwan’s article, which was published on September 13, 2018:

“A quarter of a century ago today, the PLO leadership and the Palestinian people walked into the biggest trap in modern Arab history, set for them by the Israelis and their Western allies and some Arabs [as well]. They walked into it with their eyes open, believing the lie of peace and of the establishment of an independent Palestinian state – a lie exposed later by the facts on the ground.

“We were three friends of a minority that doubted the credibility of this celebration of mendacity and self-deception, and publicly opposed it. The first was the great poet and author Mahmoud Darwish; the second was [PLO Executive Committee member] Abdallah Hourani, and the third was this writer. Darwish quit the PLO Executive Committee, and Hourani followed him. I found no way to express my opposition to this mistake except for penning an editorial for the paper I edited at the time [the London-based Al-Quds Al-Arabi] on the subject of the situation in Somalia, for publication on the morning of the day of the signing [of the Oslo Accords], when there would be handshakes and smiles on the White House lawn…

“President Arafat was isolated from most of the Arabs, particularly in the Gulf countries, because he had supported Iraq during its invasion of Kuwait… The Gulf countries, Egypt, and Syria were hostile to him, and he was being pressured by several lobbies, some of them Palestinian financiers and some of them Arabs, as well as some Europeans. He maintained that the Oslo track, whose architect was [current PA President] Mahmoud Abbas, could protect the PLO, extricate it from its isolation, bring it back into the international arena and plant in it the first seeds of the Palestinian state.

“I recall that when we left his headquarters in the Jugurtha neighborhood of Tunis, he pulled me aside on the pretext that he wanted to go for a walk, and to get away from the listening devices, and then said: ‘I want to tell you something that I ask that you not mention or attribute to me until after my death.’ Sighing, he continued: ‘I am going to Palestine through the Oslo gate, despite my reservations [about this path], in order to bring back to there [i.e. to Palestine] the PLO and the resistance. I promise you that the Jews will leave Palestine like rats abandoning a sinking ship. This will not come true in my lifetime, but it will in your lifetime.’ He told me that he did not trust the Israelis at all. I confirm with certainty that he spoke the truth…

“As he wished, Arafat attained martyrdom, via Israel’s poison, after being besieged in his headquarters [in Ramallah] for months for refusing to sign Camp David agreements or to relinquish Jerusalem and the right of return, and for causing the outbreak of the armed Second Intifada and bringing in weapons from everywhere possible. I know well that he cooperated with the Hamas fighters in Gaza and the West Bank, and funded and armed them. In this framework, he established a bridge with Hizbullah and its leaders in southern Lebanon. They would send arms in ships, inside barrels that were tossed overboard near the Gaza coast. This was because he understood that the Israelis do not want peace or to make concessions, and do not want the establishment of an independent [Palestinian] state.

“I am not revealing this information, some of which may already be known, in order to protect the late Arafat, but in order for it to be historic testimony. I am fully convinced that the Oslo Accords were an historic mistake and a poisoned dagger to the heart of the Palestinian cause, and that they led to the current catastrophes – beginning with the increased [PA-Israeli] security coordination, through the greenlighting of Arab normalization with Israel, and concluding with [President Trump’s] ‘Deal of the Century’ whose implementation in stages has begun: The first stage is the recognition of occupied Jerusalem as the eternal capital of the Jewish world; the second is the elimination of the right of return; and the third is the confederation with Jordan, the tahdiya [calm] in Gaza, and perhaps the annexation of most of the settlements and the 800,000 settlers in them by Israel…”

Frankly I am more concerned about what is going on in the U.S. NOW, rather then this.
They HATE the “people of the book” and are invading our country NOW!

Number of Arabic Speakers in America Has Nearly Doubled Since 2000
John Binder Ssptember 20 ,2018

The number of United States residents who speak Arabic at home has nearly doubled since the year 2000, new analysis from the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) reveals.
Census Bureau data analyzed by CIS researchers finds that there are now more than 1.2 million U.S. residents who speak Arabic at home. In the year 2000, there were only about 614,000 Arabic speakers in the country, representing a near 50 percent increase in the total in less than two decades.

Legal immigration to the U.S. from Islamic nations, such as Afghanistan, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Somalia has skyrocketed since 2010. For example, immigration from Afghanistan to the U.S. has increased 84 percent in the last seven years.

MUSLIMS will be the SECOND LARGEST RELIGIOUS GROUP BY 2040 IN THE UNITED STATES!!!!!

As Breitbart News reported, nearly half of residents in America’s top five largest cities speak a foreign language at home. In Los Angeles, California, nearly 60 percent of residents speak a foreign language at home.

In 2000, there were about 28.1 million U.S. residents who spoke Spanish at home. Today, there are more than 41 million U.S. residents who speak Spanish at home, an increase of more than 40 percent.

There are now more than 66.5 million residents in the U.S. that speak a language other than English at home. This number is expected to continue to increase should there be no reforms made to reduce the flow of mass legal immigration to the country.

Every year, the U.S. admits more than 1.5 million legal immigrants. In 2017, the foreign-born population boomed to a 108-year record high, making up nearly 14 percent of the total U.S. population. By 2023, the CIS researchers estimate that the legal and illegal immigrant population of the U.S. will make up nearly 15 percent of the entire U.S. population.

We desperately need a
MORATORIUM on IMMIGRATION on legal, refugees and sort out the ILLEGAL immigration.

62M Immigrants and Their U.S.-Born Children Now Reside in America
By John Binder September 20, 2018

There are now an unprecedented nearly 62 million immigrants and their United States-born children residing in the country, new analysis from the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) finds.
Newly released analysis from CIS researchers based on Census Bureau data reveals that there are about 61.6 million immigrants and their U.S.-born children — given birthright citizenship — living across the country. There were 17.1 million U.S.-born minor children of immigrants in the country as of 2017.

Immigrants and their U.S.-born children now represent about one in five residents in America, a population that is expected to increase should current legal immigration levels continue unchanged and uncontrolled.

The U.S. is nearly alone in granting birthright citizenship to the children of foreign nationals. For example, the U.S. and Canada are the two only developed nations with birthright citizenship. On the other hand, countries such as France, the United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Italy, and Germany all have either outlawed birthright citizenship or never had such a policy to begin with.

Between 2010 and 2017, about 9.5 million immigrants resettled in the U.S. The total foreign-born population is now 44.5 million, a 108-year record high, making up nearly 14 percent of the total country’s population.

In 1970, the total foreign-born population was 9.5 million.

Every year, the U.S. admits more than 1.5 million immigrants. By 2023, CIS researchers estimate that the legal and illegal immigrant population of the U.S. will make up nearly 15 percent of the entire U.S. population.

It always was and still is about money. Also, this is not end of 19. or beginning of 20. century anymore. When will you Americans finally realize, your immigration crises could be solved nicely, – you’re immigrant without citizenship, but with desire to live in US, you can stay, have driver license, rent a house etc. but you must pay double taxes and may not vote.
Simple as that.
Once you achieve status of citizenship, 5 to 10 years, you are one of us, you pay as every one of us, and you can vote.
To hell with that nonsensical “born child in US”.
Illegals now have to pay to the underground to get a license etc.!!!! Why not to help them and redirect that money to System legally?

The Arabs have controlled TOO MUCH of the Holy Land as it is…not only do they want half of Jerusalem, they still control Bethlehem, Jericho, Hebron and many other ancient Israelite settlements besides. This is NOT okay.

Why all the fussing over Israel? They are way better armed and kill Palestinians at will by the hundred, just to steal their land. Most “Israelis” aren’t even from there – they’re just Jewish “settlers” from America or Europe. Who says they have to put themselves in “harm’s way”, as if they really are.

Rubbish! Take your anti-Israeli sentiments and shove them, Muhammad! Although I strongly doubt that you could know the truth if you even witnessed it so biased is your viewpoint. Question: how many “Palestinians” lived in “Palestine” in 1918 when the Turks left? And Wikipedia is NOT a reference source but a leftomuslim propaganda source.

Oslo was looking like a win for the Palestinians … until Trump showed up! Can’t blame Arafat for that, but boy he was a nasty mofo.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Arafat walk away from Oslo despite being offered most of what he was asking for?

The Oslo accords were signed, but they were never carried out. The accords were a set of principles agreed to by Israel and the PLO (Palestinians), with the idea to sign a peace deal giving Palestinians about 95% of the land they said they wanted. But, the PLO would never stop terrorism on Jews, and never stopped arming Hamas and Hizbollah, and kept changing the goal posts, which Israel could not accept. The Oslo accords, as the article says, were to be used by Arafat to show that he was a peaceful person, but in reality it was to be used to get rid of Israel and all the Jews that lived there. Arafat received the Nobel Peace prize for signing the accords, but all the while was not thinking about peace, but how to destroy Israel and the Jews.

I am relishing the day when Arafat’s Nobel Peace Prize buddy, Jimmy Carter share their memories in Hell. Hopefully, soon thereafter, Britain’s Labour Party leader and Arafat groupie Jeremy Corbyn make it a trio. Later the Islamist Teresa May will turn it into a quartet; they can converse with Allah and Mohammad in the inferno.
