Eleven Israelis and one German police officer died in the Munich massacre of 1972, when Islamic terrorists took Israeli athletes hostage at the Olympics. Who would have guessed that 46 years later, the leading candidate for British Prime Minister, Jeremy Corbyn, would attend an event honoring the Munich mass murderers and lay a wreath? Or that the grandson of one of the Munich jihadis is running for Congress in California? It was foreseeable. The German courts never tried any of the perpetrators or backers of the Munich massacre. And they chose not to request the extradition of three of the Munich jihad terrorists from Libya. And German government documents show that Germany maintained secret contacts with the organizers of the attack for years afterward.
NYT: The attack at the Olympic Village stands as one of sports’ most horrifying episodes. The eight terrorists, representing a branch of the Palestine Liberation Organization, breached the apartments where the Israeli athletes were staying before dawn on Sept. 5, 1972. That began an international nightmare that lasted more than 20 hours and ended with a disastrous failed rescue attempt.
The treatment of the hostages has long been a subject of speculation, but a more vivid — and disturbing — account of the attack is emerging. For the first time, Ms. Romano, Ms. Spitzer and other victims’ family members are choosing to speak openly about documentation previously unknown to the public in an effort to get their loved ones the recognition they believe is deserved.

Among the most jarring details are these: The Israeli Olympic team members were beaten and, in at least one case, castrated.
“What they did is that they cut off his genitals through his underwear and abused him,” Ms. Romano said of her husband, Yossef. Her voice rose.
“Can you imagine the nine others sitting around tied up?” she continued, speaking in Hebrew through a translator. “They watched this.”
Ms. Romano and Ms. Spitzer, whose husband, Andre, was a fencing coach at the Munich Games and died in the attack, first described the extent of the cruelty during an interview …….
In subsequent interviews with The New York Times, Ms. Spitzer explained that she and the family members of the other victims only learned the details of how the victims were treated 20 years after the tragedy, when German authorities released hundreds of pages of reports they previously denied existed.

The photographs were “as bad I could have imagined,” Ms. Romano said. (The New York Times reviewed the photographs but has chosen not to publish them because of their graphic nature.)
Mr. Romano, a champion weight lifter, was shot when he tried to overpower the terrorists early in the attack. He was then left to die in front of the other hostages and castrated. Other hostages were beaten and sustained serious injuries, including broken bones, Ms. Spitzer said. Mr. Romano and another hostage died in the Olympic Village; the other nine were killed during a failed rescue attempt after they were moved with their captors to a nearby airport.

Wrestling coach Moshe Weinberg and weightlifter Yossef Romano were killed during an initial struggle.
The intruders captured nine hostages: Yossef Gutfreund, a wrestling referee, sharpshooting coach Kehat Shorr, track and field coach Amitzur Shapira, fencing master Andre Spitzer, weightlifting judge Yakov Springer, wrestlers Eliezer Halfin and Mark Slavin, and weightlifters David Berger and Ze’ev Friedman.
Soon after the massacre began, a Black September spokesman called for the release 234 Palestinian prisoners and West German-held founders of the Red Army Faction, Andreas Baader and Ulrike Meinhof.
For the next 24 hours, there was a tense stand-off between the German police and the eight highly-trained hostage takers. An attempt to storm the building was aborted when the terrorists, who were watching the police’s preparations live on television, threatened to kill hostages if the police followed through.
Two more failed attempts followed, as the terrorists demanded a plane to fly out of Germany. In the end, the Black September members were given two helicopters to fly to the Munich airport. German snipers opened fire when the terrorists landed. The shootout killed the nine hostages and five of the terrorists. Three of the terrorists were captured.

Less than two months after the incident, Germany released the remaining three terrorists. This was after terrorists from Black September attacked again. This time they hijacked a German passenger plane.
During the crises, Golda Meir, the prime minister of Israel at the time pleaded with the world to “save our citizens,” continuing, “if we [Israel] should give in, then no Israeli anywhere in the world shall feel that his life is safe.”
The massacre has gained recently gained coverage because of head of UK’s Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn was seen possibly laying a wreath at the graves of the Black September terrorists.

Even worse, afterwards the Germans cut a secret deal with the Pally terrorists to allow them to operate freely in Germany, in return for no more terrorist attacks on German soil.
Obviously hasn’t worked out very well for Germany 🙂

They must’ve known they were all doomed to die once the f’ing muslums captured them. There’s no point to surrendering to f’ing muslums you might as well just take out as many as you can. I remember reading Mark Spitz was evacuated from the Munich Olympics as soon as this terrorist attack occurred.

The old “cycle of violence” hogwash. This notion came from the student union table philosophers. It’s half-baked. If you have a “cycle of violence”, it just means that you haven’t clobbered the enemy hard enough. We didn’t win WW2 with diplomacy, we one it by giving the enemy a crushing defeat. (And how many decades of peace since that victory?) We didn’t win the American Civil War through diplomacy, we won it by ripping out the food basket of the south by marching to Savannah. The end of WWI was accomplished by diplomacy, and look what happened 20 years later, WW2. Rome crushed Carthago (Carthage) by going to Zama, crushing its army, and wasting its capitol. End of that problem for quite a long while. If there is a “cycle of violence”, you haven’t allowed enough violence, you haven’t allowed a crushing defeat of the enemy’s will to resist.

It is interesting to note that the Israeli security agency Shin Bet traced down every single one of the Black September murderers like a dog and assassinated them, one by one.
The current movie, “Operation Finale”, is based on how they also went into Argentina surreptitiously to kidnap Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann, architect of Hitler’s “Final Solution” to the Jewish people, and spirited him back to Israel for his hanging which was well-deserved and long overdue.

I watched this live on TV and i remember saying how can the German snipers miss the terrorists at the airport when they had clean shots? Because they wanted to miss! The only saving grace is that Israel hunted down each of the cowardly inbreds and sent them to collect their fictitious virgins!
