Jews should be thankful for Israel as it enters its 5779th year

14

As the Jewish people enter their 5779th year, anti-Semitism is rampant. The rise in anti-Semitism is due to the irrational hatred directed towards Israel, the world’s only Jewish state. Mass immigration to Europe, North America, and Australia from anti-Semitic Muslim countries has allowed anti-Semitism to spread rapidly. The dreadful BDS movement is the 21st century version of the Nazi Judenboykott, and seeks to delegitimize and destroy Israel. However, unlike the Jews of the early 20th century, the Jews of the 21st century can fight back. This is made possible by a thriving and powerful Jewish state in Israel.

Despite some wins for this BDS Movement, Israel continues to rout this hateful organization. Month after month, Israel reaches new levels of prosperity and stature, despite being in the planet’s most dangerous region. Israel was very fortunate that it focused on innovation and technology from the time of its inception, which it has turned into the greatest weapon against the BDS movement. 70 years after Israel’s re-establishment, Israel’s hi-tech economy is the envy of the world (along with Silicon Valley), and has allowed the tiny Jewish state to become a technological and diplomatic power.

In July of this year, Israel was named the world’s eighth strongest country by the U.S News and World Report. Israel has also surpassed Japan (the world’s third largest economy) in per-capita GDP. A remarkable achievement when one considers were Japan was in terms of its economic stature 25 short years ago. Many believed that Japan would surpass the U.S as the world’s most powerful economy. In the 1980’s, when Donald Trump began to warn Americans about one-sided trade deals, he wasn’t talking about China; he was talking about Japan.

The leaders of the BDS Movement and the left-wing “elites” continue to insist that Israel will become a pariah state. These anti-Semitic detractors would be wise to consider this: when one analyses the industries that will be the most vital in the coming decades, such as AI, FinTech, cyber security, water, agriculture, autonomous vehicles, clean energy, digital health, and food tech, they will see that Israel is a leader or co-leader in every one of these industries. Israel’s technology and innovation has proven (for the most part) to be boycott-proof. For example, in the EU and UK, trade with Israel is skyrocketing and breaking records, despite being in regions were the BDS movement is extremely active, due to their large Muslim populations.

2018 is proving that Israel will continue to thrive in the future. In the first half of 2018, Israeli startups raised $3.2 billion, while Israeli companies sold for $6.2 billion. In August, the Israeli soft drink company, SodaStream, was sold to PepsiCo for a staggering $3.2 billion dollars, marking a humiliating defeat for the BDS movement, since SodaStream has often been a target of their slander campaigns. Israel-Asia relations continue to ascend. Israel’s trade with China is set to reach 15 billion dollars this year, a figure that will likely triple once an FTA between the two countries is signed. Israel’s relations with India have never been stronger. Israel’s trade with Japan increased by 25 percent in 2017, and continues to thrive in 2018, as Japanese PM Shinzo Abe paid his second visit in four years to the Jewish state. Israel is also about to finalize FTA’s with South Korea and Vietnam as well.

Israel’s relations with Africa and Latin America are also surging. Israel’s trade with Russia increased by 25 percent in 2017, and is on course to expand even further in 2018 and 2019. As for the United States, relations with Israel have never been stronger, thanks to President Trump, who courageously recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. In addition, Israel’s approval ratings among the American population is at a record 72 percent, despite the Israel-hating Democrat Party.

Israeli universities are consistently ranked as among the best in the world, which has resulted in close to 400 multinational companies establishing their R&D centers in the country. Since 2014, an average of 23 multinational companies per year, have built R&D centers in Israel. In the first half of 2018, a record 2.1 million tourists visited Israel, a 19 percent increase from 2017. In addition, despite the despicable efforts from anti-Semite and BDS supporter Roger Waters, artists from all over the globe have proudly performed in Israel. In 2019, Israel will become the world’s fourth country to put a spacecraft on the moon. In 2020, Israel will export natural gas into Europe.

The BDS movement has no chance against Israel. The leadership of the BDS movement and other anti-Semitic groups need to understand that this is the year 2018 (5779) and not 1939. The BDS movement is losing today and it is going to lose even more tomorrow.

“5779: A new year of hope,” by Isi Leibler, Jerusalem Post, September 9, 2018 10:22

Those of us privileged to live in Israel should give thanks to the Almighty and appreciate the extraordinary achievements of the past year and pray that this momentum is maintained in the coming year.

Of course, we continue to face threats from the Iranians and Hezbollah and a genuine peace with the Palestinians remains as remote as ever. And there is the rapid escalation of antisemitism throughout the Diaspora in which Islamists, extreme leftists and traditional fascists have combined to create the most poisonous concoction. Most of “enlightened” Europe has reverted to the Jew-hating days of the 1930s and the British are now poised to elect a shameless antisemite as their prime minister.

We also live in a region that is witnessing the barbarism of the Dark Ages. Over the past five years, millions have been displaced and hundreds of thousands killed by bombing, chemical warfare and beheadings. Yet the United Nations and the Europeans concentrate their venom on Israelis defending themselves.

But the Jewish people in the land of Israel are blessed to be living in an age of miracles, having risen like a phoenix from the ashes of the Holocaust, the greatest tragedy in Jewish history.

A Holocaust survivor could never have dreamed that the Jewish people, in the short span of 70 years, would become resurrected as a nation – signaling the end of a 2,000-year harrowing exile in which we were discriminated, persecuted and butchered.

In 1948, 650,000 Jews, augmented by survivors, with an under-equipped and vastly outnumbered army, defeated the combined forces of the Arab world in the War of Independence. Subsequent wars in 1967 and 1973 demonstrated that we are here to stay.

The prophecy of kibbutz galuyot – the ingathering of the exiles – was realized as Jews from all corners of the world returned to their ancient homeland. These included Jews from Arab countries and over a million from the former Soviet Union. We even brought back Jews from Ethiopia who had lost contact with fellow Jews for centuries….

The terrible problem of antisemitism can be thwarted by following Yeshua’s guidance to teach the gentiles (not nations) by baptizing them how he said to in the Aramaic Matti 28:19. Christians have been doing it wrong with English titles forever. Its NOT a trinity, its “name” singular as one phrase with no words between. Use the real Hebrew for all of it: “[Father’s Hebrew name], Yeshua, [Hebrew title for Set-Apart Spirit].”

Mathew 28:19

[19] Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Matt.3:16

[16] And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo,
the heavens were opened unto him,
and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

[17] And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

So many Jews- I’m looking at you, millenials- have zero understanding of the importance of the state of Israel to the lives of Jewish people. You never know who your friends are until the going gets tough, but so long as there is Israel, Jews worldwide have a place to go when the periodic pogroms- or worse- begin wherever it is you happen to live. And do not ever think your country is immune.

Agree. Ignorance and stupidity go together so they support jihadis.

They are aided by the dumb , ignorant Left/Liberal loons coming out of colleges/schools run by pro-jihadi left/liberal loons

And by the time they realise their stupidity they get assaulted , gang raped or murdered like this couple its too late for them https://tinyurl.com/yahupccy

Problem is they enable evil while not able to see evil thanks to pro-jihadi left/liberal indoctrination in schools/colleges where real history of islam and America is no longer taught.

The Jews of America (and I have known quite a few, even attending a Passover Seder at a nearby synagogue) have lost all sense of pride in their identity, I think. Some of them even call for a boycott of Israel.

Jewish friends, please talk to others and WAKE THEM UP TO THE DANGER OF ISLAM!
Maybe you could gently bring it up during this holiday.

It’s impossible. Believe me. Unfortunately many of them are brainwashed from their childhood and ignorant. For many American Jews it’s a moveton to vote for Republicans. They need to educate themselves. At least for the sake of Israel and H’Ashem. I’m a European Jew. We went through hell. So we have a different mindset. Almost none of my Russian friends (former USSR “prisoners”) vote for DemoCraps. Unless they have no brains. Thank you for your kind thoughts, Felix.

Some say Zoroastrianism may be just as ancient.
