Immigrants, it seems, have been busy little bees and stealing, with alarming and rising regularity, Americans’ Social Security numbers as means of obtaining employment and benefits, illegally. in this country.
By a recent count, nearly 40 million Social Security numbers have been stolen and used by illegals and others just to obtain employment.
Children, especially, are vulnerable to the thefts.

Nearly 40 million Social Security numbers have been stolen and used by illegal immigrants and others to get work, according to agency records obtained by an immigration reform group.
The Immigration Reform Law Institute said that from 2012 to 2016 there were “39 million instances where names and Social Security numbers on W-2 tax forms did not match the corresponding Social Security records.”
The group said that there is a “thriving black market” used by illegal immigrants to get Social Security numbers needed to get a job.
Their report draws attention to a move by former President Barack Obama to stop sending so-called “no match” letters to employers notifying them that numbers used by employees on the wage forms do not match their identity.
The change followed the president’s decision to approve amnesty for some 700,000 younger immigrants let into the U.S. under his Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. Some of those have been dubbed “dreamers.”
Several groups promoting immigration reform and limitations have shown that illegal immigrants compete with low-income Americans for jobs.
“The Social Security numbers of young children are especially sought by illegal aliens, as this theft is likely to go undetected for years. As children reach late teenage years and apply for credit for cars, student loans, and other needs, they may find that their credit has been compromised with mortgages, credit cards and criminal records attached to their identities,” said the group.
“This investigation shines a light on the depth of America’s problems as a result of allowing illegal aliens into the country,” said Dale L. Wilcox, executive director and general counsel of IRLI. “It also debunks the idea that being in the country illegally is a victimless crime. Millions of Americans, in many cases children, are having their identities stolen to enable even more criminal activity. Illegal aliens should not reap Social Security benefits that result from the commission of identity theft.”

Only immigrants going through the process to became a naturalized citizen should be legally eligible to receive a social security number. If they only work inside the U.S., but retain only citizenship of another country, they should receive a immigrant ‘workers’ number in order to get paid for the work they did. Otherwise the federal government is unconstitutionally blurring the definition of what makes you an American. Just my humble opinion.

The US has work visas, investor’s visas .. and quite a long list of others .. that are subject to paying US taxes and, for earned income, FICA and Medicare tax (combined total of 15.3% from dollar one). Not to mention Permanent Resident Aliens …. So, you don’t want investors and Resident Aliens to pay one of our most draconian taxes?

One father stated “it is almost as if the police don’t care.”
That is an understatement. They do not care and they do not want to be bothered with ID theft. This goes for local law enforcement as well as the FBI which handles inter-state theft – supposedly.
My husband’s ID was stolen a few years ago. The thief opened a checking account in his name and had $30,000.00 of dental work done – all in Tennessee! Of course we live in Michigan and learned about this when we began to get phone calls demanding money. We tried reporting it to the local police and were unable to do so because they could only take complaints within their jurisdiction and of course we were unable to tell them where the thief was (what city s/he was in when s/he hacked into whatever data based was used) when he stole the number. We contacted the FBI because we had no idea of the locale where the theft took place; the charges were made in Tennessee and we live in Michigan. The FBI however will not look at ID theft unless the cost is over $50,000.00. That is right! You have to be hounded for 50K or more before the FBI will even look into a clear interstate crime!
The government in the USA (at all levels) does not give a damn! By failing to prosecute this crime they are encouraging more of it.

With great difficulty. I don’t recall all the details but here is the short story:
Blue Cross Blue Shield had lost a list of doctor’s SSNs and my husband’s was one of those numbers. BCBS sent letters to all the docs on that data base and luckily I had saved the letter informing us that if we were to become victims of ID theft that they would offer assistance. We had no way of knowing if the thief got my husband’s number from that list, and so it was initially difficult to get the help from BCBSM; but somehow we learned that our local sheriff’s department (in spite of their initial denial) was in fact the correct agency to take the report, which they eventually did. We continued to be hounded by creditors for about 6 months. We handled each call by giving them the case # and telling them that this was ID theft Eventually it stopped but the sheriff’s department never communicated with us again and we never learned if they caught the guy or guys.
Personally I think that the dentist was part of the scam because what dentist will do $30,000 of dental work without a deposit of 50% or more? It also turns out that the address that the guy used was across the street from the Chattanooga Police Department.
And the lack of information given to us when it was over still troubles me. Were we not entitled to know the real identity of the person responsible for all of this, or to see his face. Were we not entitled to know if he ever saw any form of punishment? Apparently we have no right to know. But one thing that I am certain of is that the FBI is complicit in ll of this. They could easily put a stop to this if they wanted. Obviously they don’t want to stop it!

I agree that the dentist was probably part of the scam/stolen ID. No way would a dentist do that much work (if he actually did do it) without some sort of payment made first.
I have a friend who had his identity stolen…it has taken him years to clear up the mess…and every year or so, another creditor calls demanding payment for something the ID thief did.

So once again, why has Obama not been arrested for aiding and abetting crime and for treason? What possible reason could he had had in doing this other than to harm American citizens and aid the overthrow of this country by non-military means?

(Don’t know how much you know about hanging. My apology if you already know. But the length of the noose is determined by the person’s weight. A properly sized noose will snap the spinal cord at its origin and immediately kill the person. A noose that is too long will decapitate the person due the force when the end in reached – not a pretty sight. A noose that is too short will strangle the person and drag the death out for 10 minutes or more and is painful both physically and psychologically.)
