Trump-endorsed Ron DeSantis to face Bernie-backed Andrew Gillum in Florida governor’s race

10

Like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Andrew Gillum is a far-left candidate. Like Ocasio-Cortez, Gillum was endorsed by the dreadful Senator Bernie Sanders, who has clearly taken control of the Democrat Party. Like Ocasio-Cortez in New York, Gillum was not expected to win the Democrat Party’s gubernatorial primary in Florida. Gillum’s win was called a huge upset by the media and political elites on Tuesday night. The elites are wrong. The Democrat Party is not transforming into a far-left party. The Democrat Party is already a far-left party. Andrew Gillum’s win on Tuesday night is just another example of its transformation. Gillum’s win should not have been a surprise to anyone. It would have been surprising if a centrist won their nomination, given the radical state of the Democrat Party.

Gillum’s opponent will be Rep. Ron DeSantis, who is an outstanding conservative candidate. However, DeSantis better have an offensive campaign. He better run aggressive attack ads against Gillum, since Gillum’s strategy will be for high voter turnout among millennials and other groups. If DeSantis dismisses Gillum and runs a prevent defense campaign, he may have quite a shock on November 6th. President Trump should be watching this election very closely, since Florida is critical to his re-election campaign.

“Trump-endorsed Ron DeSantis to face Bernie-backed Andrew Gillum in Florida governor’s race,” by Alex Pappas, Fox News, August 28, 2018:

President Trump’s favored candidate, GOP Rep. Ron DeSantis, defeated state Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam in Florida’s Republican gubernatorial primary on Tuesday after riding the wave of the president’s enthusiastic endorsement to victory.

Meanwhile, the Bernie Sanders-backed Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum pulled off a major upset in defeating a half a dozen rivals, including former Rep. Gwen Graham, in the Democratic primary.

DeSantis and Gillum will face each other in November’s general election. If he triumphs, Gillum would be the state’s first black governor.

During a celebration event in Orlando, DeSantis thanked the president for “viewing me as somebody who could be a great leader for Florida.”

“Our victory is a good victory, anyways,” DeSantis said, complimenting Putnam on a hard-fought race. “But man, to beat someone of his caliber is a big, big deal.”

The president repeatedly had implored voters to support DeSantis over Putnam. Trump offered his congratulations on Twitter.

“Such a fantastic win for Ron DeSantis and the people of the Great State of Florida,” Trump tweeted. “Ron will be a fantastic Governor. On to November!”

Appearing on the “Ingraham Angle” later, DeSantis downplayed the notion that his win was due to the president’s backing, and touted his record on combatting environmental problems, illegal immigration, and education reform.

“We’ve been talking about these key issues time and time again and we’re going to continue to do that and spread the message far and wide,” he said.

Gillum, Tallahassee’s progressive mayor backed by the Democratic-socialist Sanders, shocked many analysts with his win, as Graham, the daughter of former Florida Governor and Sen. Bob Graham, led in pre-election polls.

“I’m truly honored to represent people across the state as the Democratic nominee — and I promise to stand up for everyday Floridians and the issues that matter most,” Gillum tweeted after his win.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the Democratic socialist star running for New York’s 14th district, praised Gillum for staking out liberal positions by supporting Medicare for all, legalizing marijuana and abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

“The progressive movement is transforming the country – and he proved that again tonight,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted….

I think so too but they are not immune to FRAUD and TRIPLE VOTING!
DEMS are motivated and want TRUMP OUT and to reverse his accomplishments.
They DO want to raise taxes, open borders, mass immigration, decriminalize illegal immigration have illegals vote etc… That is the truth. That should scare people into voting R even if it is a RINO. RINOS don’t have the e courage to impeach Trump. DEMS will try it or tangle Trump up with meannigless lawsuits at OUR expense.

The most recent census showed their percentage, of the population, at 15.35 (Florida). Since that census was a while back, I didn’t look into the number of “Over Eighteen”.

What I find amusing is the MONSTERS DEMS CREATING are voting out the liberal white behemoths who were supposed to control them. The liberal whites are being sidelined.

Look at the communist nutcase freebie winner, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She is the new rising Democratic COMMUNIST star and Muslim lover who won the DEM primary for New York’s 14th district. She was NOT supposed to win! The old white liberal, Joe Crowley, was supposed to win! This was a shock win. The DEMS are fracturing and being pushed aside for the radicals to take over.
