Iraqi immigrant accused of shooting Colorado cop has criminal history, yet avoided deportation, report says
An Iraqi immigrant who allegedly shot a Colorado cop Thursday during a shootout has been involved in a string of crimes for the past five years — yet avoided being deported, a report said.
Karrar Al Khammasi, 31, missed his Friday court appearance after he was hospitalized following a shootout with officers in Colorado Springs. Al Khammasi is accused of shooting Colorado Springs Officer Cem Duzel in the head early Thursday morning, leaving the cop in critical but stable condition as of Saturday.
Before Thursday’s shooting, Khammasi was known to immigration enforcement officials due to his nine prior contacts with police, the Colorado Springs Gazette reported.
His first incident was in 2013, when he was charged with drunken driving. About a month later, Khammasi was charged with criminal extortion where investigators believe he threatened a man and his family and set a car on fire.
Police said Friday Officer Cem Duzel had movement on both sides of his body overnight and has family and friends were by his side in the hospital
Court records stated Khammasi was sentenced to two years of probation after pleading guilty to first-degree trespassing of a dwelling in 2014. Khammasi was on an immigration hold that day.
His criminal history continued this year when Khammasi was arrested in January for allegedly possessing a stolen handgun. He posted $1,000 cash bail in February and was free until Thursday’s shooting. His Friday court appearance was on the gun charge.
It’s unclear, however, if or why Khammasi was not deported in the five years.
Khammasi was charged with attempted first-degree murder, possession of a weapon by a previous offender and felony menacing on Friday. He is being held without bond.

The SWAMP must pass LEGISLATION that if within 10 years or more, new immigrants who commit crimes are striped of citizenship and deported and forever banned form our country. Ideally the WHOLE FAMILY should be deported. I just hate separating family.

I can answer why he wasn’t deported. A good lawyer also knows immigration laws and what offenses are and aren’t deportable offenses as defined by law. I haven’t seen a conviction or guilty plea on a deportable offense under which Khammasi could have been removed.
Maybe they could at least remove him from your anus ????

And we are disgusted when learning of such things in Europe and the U.K., yet such things are also happening in America because of the Lefts moral’s destitute mentality.
These things are happening in America for he following reasons:
1) Mullah Hussein Obumfook, our past ruler, coddled his coreligionists, imported by him by the hundreds of thousands under the cover of darkness
2) The Presstitutes of the LameStream EneMedia are loath to publish news of crimes by a protected minority

As a senior citizen scrolling through news articles like this and other events of the world, it’s very depressing. Some will say America will get it right, but how. I have one suggestion. Reform our colleges and universities so there is some balance. There’s much more to do, but our educational institutions are nothing more than communist indoctrination centers.
