Al Qaeda Returns? U.N. Panel Warns of New Bin Laden Threat

20

A panel with the United Nations has sent out a blunt warning that al Qaeda could be making a terror comeback.

This one would be headed by none other than Osama bin Laden’s son.

The report, sent to the Security Council for consideration, also found that the defeat of ISIS in Iraq and most parts of Syria has nonetheless left a sizeable force. By best count, ISIS still has up to 30,000 terror members.

From Fox News:

As the Islamic State is driven out of its former strongholds, a U.N. panel is warning that the next big terror threat in the region could come, once again, from Al Qaeda — led by the son of Usama bin Laden.
The report by U.N. experts, delivered to the Security Council and released this week, included startling findings about both terror networks. The report found that while ISIS had been defeated militarily in Iraq and most of Syria, it had rallied in early 2018 and still had approximately 20,000-30,000 members in the two countries.

The U.S.-led coalition in the region racked up numerous military wins against the group in 2017 and helped reduce its territory to mere pockets of Syria. At the State of the Union address this year, President Trump declared victory: “I’m proud to report that the coalition to defeat ISIS has liberated very close to 100 percent of the territory just recently held by these killers in Iraq and in Syria.

The U.N. report found ISIS, though, is in the process of moving from “a proto-State network to a covert network” that continues to threaten other countries, and its leadership is still in tact, under Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi.

Yet the report also raised significant concerns about Al Qaeda, which fell into the background amid the international attention on ISIS and its brutal tactics, particularly after the death of Usama bin Laden in 2011.
The report found that Al Qaeda is still a global network showing resilience, and it is stronger than ISIS in places like Somalia, Yemen and South Asia — and its leadership in Iran has grown more prominent.

Further, bin Laden’s son — Hamza bin Laden — has “continued to emerge as a leadership figure in Al Qaeda,” the report said.

“Al Qaeda’s leadership demonstrates strategic patience and its regional affiliates exercise good tactical judgment, embedding themselves in local issues and becoming players,” it said.

Earlier this month, The Guardian reported that the 29-year-old Hamza, who has said he wants to avenge his father, is believed to have married the daughter of Mohammed Atta — the Egyptian national who hijacked and flew the first plane into the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.

While the U.N. said there is little evidence as yet of a direct global threat from Al Qaeda, “improved leadership and enhanced communication will probably increase the threat over time, as will any rise in the tendency, already visible in some regions, of ISIL supporters to join Al Qaeda.”
The report comes amid growing international concern about the civil war in Yemen between the Saudi-led coalition and the Iran-backed Houthis. Al Qaeda in the Arab Peninsula (AQAP) has gained a foothold in the south of the wartorn country amid the chaos in the country.

This month, an Associated Press investigation found that the Saudi-led coalition has been cutting secret deals with Al Qaeda fighters, paying some to leave cities and towns, allowing others to retreat with weapons and cash. Others were recruited to join the coalition. Participants in those agreement said the U.S. was aware of the arrangements and held off on drone strikes.

U.N. Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths has invited both sides of the conflict to meet in Geneva for talks in September.

They are capable of working and paying their own way.

2Thes.3:8, 12

[8] Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:

[12] Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

But according to mom, Osama Bin Laden was a good boy till OTHERS brain washed him.

Osama bin Laden’s mother: “He was a very good child
until he met some people who pretty much brainwashed him”
AUG 3, 2018 3:40 PM BY ROBERT SPENCER

Alia Ghanem is Osama bin Laden’s mother, and she commands the attention of everyone in the room.

Sitting between Osama’s half-brothers, Ghanem recalls her firstborn as a shy boy who was academically capable. He became a strong, driven, pious figure in his early 20s, she says, while studying economics at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, where he was also radicalised. “The people at university changed him,” Ghanem says. “He became a different man.” One of the men he met there was Abdullah Azzam, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood who was later exiled from Saudi Arabia and became Osama’s spiritual adviser. “He was a very good child until he met some people who pretty much brainwashed him in his early 20s. You can call it a cult. They got money for their cause. I would always tell him to stay away from them, and he would never admit to me what he was doing, because he loved me so much.”

Osama bin Laden’s son marries Mohamed Atta’s daughter
AUG 5, 2018 9:19 AM
BY ROBERT SPENCER

“Hamza bin Laden has married daughter of lead 9/11 hijacker, say family,”
by Martin Chulov,
Guardian, August 5, 2018:

The union was confirmed by Osama bin Laden’s half-brothers . Ahmad and Hassan al-Attas said they believed Hamza had taken a senior position within al-Qaida and was aiming to AVENGE the death of his father, shot dead during a US military raid in Pakistan .

Hamza bin Laden is the son of one of Osama bin Laden’s three surviving wives, Khairiah Sabar, who was living with her husband in a compound in Abbottabad, near a large Pakistani military base, when he was killed. He has since made public statements urging followers to wage war on Washington, London, Paris and Tel Aviv and is seen as a deputy to the terrorist group’s current leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri.

Al – Qaeda, of course it will return, it didn’t go away because the dream didn’t die with its monster.

I expect this challenge to us all to last for 100 years which I date from the attack on the USS Cole.

Julius Caesar made a quote, he said ” If you want peace – prepare for war “.

When you read about and lived through the confusion, ineptitude and downright treason showed by western leaders today and during the last 30 years, you understand why our society is starting to divide in a way which could be construed as preparation for the trials of strength I believe are to come during the next 25 years.

The coloured “gimmigrants” lured into western countries supported by the increasingly strident white hard left against the “deplorable’s” , those of us who do the “heavy lifting” who are expected to surrender our countries along with our money and daughters in silence because of our supposed “guilt”.

I believe we cannot “duck” this, we do not seek it, but there are those around today who do and they mean to prevail against us and our descendants in the name of “equality” or “social justice”. These people do not advocate competition between cultures or belief systems, they believe in asset stripping and redistributing our entire civilisation for the benefit of others too lazy and stupid to provide for themselves.

In this struggle { which will be at the local level mostly } each man and woman of worth will be his or her own fortress, self reliant yes, but willing and able to draw others of like mind in the name of our common cause.

I also believe this will be a titanic struggle, the most serious we will have faced because it’s being driven by people who look like us but believe we should just go.

I Worry about mu kids and their children. The U.S. I knew is gone. I feel terrible they didn’t experience the freedom, normalcy and civility I grew up with. For example, we’d all snicker at a drag queen and mutilating yourself to become the opposite sex was unheard of. They almost want heterosexuals to feel abnormal.

What I think they want is a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT where “all is fair”. With that, they mistakenly believe there will be no more wars. We will all get along. No one will starve or have a need that isn’t met because countries will POOL THEIR WEALTH and REDISTRIBUTE on a global basis – similar to how the U.S. was supposed to pay out money to developing countries and finance them as part of the Paris Climate Agreement. That agreement had nothing to do with weather. It was about leveling the global playing field.

Youth is buying into this. They don’t understand it can not work,

They most definitely want a ‘one world governent’ and are working feverishly to achieve that. They are getting impatient. You can see it in the media, how they are conspiring, actively, against the president. And in more and more violent protests against the “evil right” by antifa and friends.

You are right in predicting a monstrous major conflict that will engulf the entire world. Islam intends to overthrow all other systems and force itself on the world. They will attempt to engulf all the countries that presently exist. No country will be left untouched. From my perspective we should now try to keep these believers within those countries that that have accepted the Islamic belief system and the theocracy that runs those countries. We can only hope that by limiting these believers to these countries and protecting our borders from their onslaught, that over time the believers themselves will become enlightened and conclude that their belief system is fatally flawed, having the effect of rejecting the fallacious belief system that is today’s Islam. Very sad perspective for future generations.

U.S. forces have spent 17 years in Afghanistan, nearly that long in Iraq, 5,000+ military members gone and hundreds of billions of dollars thrown at fixing that wasteland, that’s STILL a wasteland. And now, Al Qaeda is potentially stronger this time around? PROOF…….that what we’ve been doing over there has amounted to almost nothing.

A major mistake by the seal team that killed Osama Bin Laden, was not to kill every other person in that compound. Who ever made the decision not to is responsible for the new threat from Osama’s son.

This is what happens when you don’t annihilate your enemy. Level his place. Then takeover and build towns, cities and roads over their graves.
