America’s leftist leaners love to cry about the sheer inhumanity of keeping out illegals and enacting tough border laws. But overseas, the social justice aspect of border control isn’t such a concern.
Witness Turkey and Syria. There, a border wall is being constructed and by spring, there will be real concrete barriers separating the two counntries.
And the wall will be expansive.
Turkey and Syria share roughly 566 miles of border properties.
What’s more: The funding for this wall comes from the European Union — the same government body that decries President Donald Trump’s border policies, the same government body that fights to keep its own countries in open border status.
It’s not so much a Turkey-Syria wall as it is a Euro wall.
From Hurriyet Daily News:
Turkey aims to complete the construction of a 911-kilometer wall along the border with Syria by spring 2018, Doğan News Agency has reported.
Some 781 kilometers of the wall – which abuts the southeastern provinces of Hatay, Şanlıurfa, Kilis, Gaziantep, Mardin and Şırnak – has been already completed, making it the third longest wall in the world after the Great Wall of China and the U.S.-Mexico border wall.
Turkey shares a 911-kilometer (566-mile) border with Syria, a country plagued by civil war since 2011.
The border wall incorporates physical, electronic and advanced technology components.
The physical components include modular concrete walls, patrol routes, manned and unmanned towers and passenger tracks.
