Robert Spencer: Pope Francis denounces “murderous indifference” to persecution of Christians, of which he is a chief architect

32

Associated Press reported that the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and other Orthodox Patriarchs met with Pope Francis on Saturday, and that the Pope had some strong words to say about the persecution of Christians in the Middle East. The Pope couldn’t resist an anti-Semitic shot at Israeli “occupation,” but he also seemed to denounce Islamic jihad activity, saying: “So many conflicts have been stoked too by forms of fundamentalism and fanaticism that, under the guise of religion, have profaned God’s name – which is peace – and persecuted age-old neighbors.” He decried the “thirst for profit that surreptitiously exploits oil and gas fields without regard for our common home, with no scruples about the fact that the energy market now dictates the law of coexistence among peoples!”

The Pope lamented the fact that in recent years the Middle East has been “covered by dark clouds of war, violence and destruction, instances of occupation and varieties of fundamentalism, forced migration and neglect.” And he deplored the fact that “all this has taken place amid the complicit silence of many. The Middle East has become a land of people who leave their own lands behind.” He cried: “Indifference kills, and we desire to lift up our voices in opposition to this murderous indifference. For the Middle East today is weeping, suffering and silent as others trample upon those lands in search of power or riches.”

These are odd statements coming from Pope Francis, a world-class Islamopanderer; notice that he said nothing about who was doing the persecuting, and implied that it was the fault of powers outside the Middle East. The Catholic Church as a whole has committed itself to Islamopandering, such that it is largely silent about the Muslim persecution of Christians that has taken place in the Middle East. Why? The Catholic Church is following Pope Francis’ lead, and Francis has said: “Christian terrorism does not exist, Jewish terrorism does not exist, and Muslim terrorism does not exist. They do not exist.” And he has also said: “Authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence.”

Story continues below advertisement

This has had a terrible influence upon the Catholic Church, and aids and abets the Western political and media elites in their determination to cover up the Muslim persecution of Christians. Jean-Clément Jeanbart, the Melkite Greek Catholic Archbishop of Aleppo, gave an interview to a French reporter in which he was highly critical of the mainstream media and even of his fellow bishops for ignoring the Muslim persecution of Middle Eastern Christians. “The European media,” he charged, “have not ceased to suppress the daily news of those who are suffering in Syria and they have even justified what is happening in our country by using information without taking the trouble to verify it.” And as for his brother bishops in France, “the conference of French bishops should have trusted us, it would have been better informed. Why are your bishops silent on a threat that is yours today as well? Because the bishops are like you, raised in political correctness. But Jesus was never politically correct, he was politically just!”

Archbishop Jeanbart was not the first to say this. “Why, we ask the western world, why not raise one’s voice over so much ferocity and injustice?” asked Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco, the head of the Italian Bishops Conference (CEI). Syriac Catholic Patriarch Ignatius Ephrem Joseph III Younan himself has in the past appealed to the West “not to forget the Christians in the Middle East.” The former Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarch Gregory III has also said: “I do not understand why the world does not raise its voice against such acts of brutality.”

But Gregory III should have understood, since he was a major part of the problem. He himself said: “No one defends Islam like Arab Christians.” It is to defend Islam that Western clerics do not raise their voice against such acts of brutality. It is to pursue a fruitless and chimerical “dialogue” that bishops in the U.S. and Europe keep silent about Muslim persecution of Christians, and enforce that silence upon others. Robert McManus, Roman Catholic Bishop of Worcester, Massachusetts, said it on February 8, 2013 as he was suppressing a planned talk at a Catholic conference on that persecution: “Talk about extreme, militant Islamists and the atrocities that they have perpetrated globally might undercut the positive achievements that we Catholics have attained in our inter-religious dialogue with devout Muslims.”

Remember that Mohamed Atta, about the plane he had hijacked on September 11, 2001, told passengers over the intercom: “Stay quiet and you’ll be OK.” The Catholic Church appears to have adopted that statement as its policy regarding Muslim persecution of Christians.

“Leave them; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14)

Francis is a fraud; he is not a Christian but a propagandist, a disciple for Islam. The day will come when the Islamic horde breaches Vatican City, my only hope is, Francis the fraud is there to greet the Jihadist scourge. Choosing to advocate for Muslim migrants but remaining mute regarding Christians murdered en-masse is this Pope’s infectious and toxic legacy.

One brief quote by Pope Benedict about Islam, said offhand in a scholarly milieu set off the whole Muslim world into an orgy of murder terror and rage. Haven’t had a plain-spoken word about Islam from my church ever since.

It has been a spent force regarding true Christianity for centuries, but as a force within end times, it is well under way and growing with Francis the Jesuit at its helm. Its full impact is yet to materialize, but the Harlot riding the Scarlet beast of Rev:17 is her, and there is a lot more still to come, but not like what you would attribute to her.

Unless we delegitimize Islam as “religion” it will take over the West. The biggest mistake is to allow “freedom of religion” to Muslims since they are historically intolerant and cruel to all other religions. The dhimmis in the West just don’t know the history of this vicious, supremacist totalitarian ideology invented by a pedophile.comment image

You atheists always have to insert your promotion of the totalitarian fecal sex death cult into your arguments, that is why you will always continue to be as corrupt as Muslims because you are too gutless to stand against other totalitarian wicked groups like paraphillia totalitarians, instead promoting their totalitarian cult as victims when they are abusers.

“YOU Atheists”???!!!
Are you talkin’ to me??????!!!!!!!
Are you out of your ever lovin’ mind? What the heck are you talking about? I think you had a problem reading and interpreting my comment or perhaps you were responding to someone else’s comment.
It is the leftist globalists Marxist atheists, i.e., “paraphilia totalitarians,” who bend over backward to defend the ONLY “religion” they seem to love—Islam—which was invented by warmongering, sex slaver, pedophile, misogynist, polygamist who hijacked and perverted the pre-existing well-established monotheism of the Jews and Christians then slaughtered them or made them slaves or dhimmis because they refused to convert.
The topic is the Dhimmi Pope…and why he has forsaken his Christian flock and fed them to the Muslim wolves.comment image

I would hope so. Don’t know which comment that would be unless he was actually defending the Dhimmi Pope. The Leftist atheistic “paraphilia totalitarians” just love Francis as do the IslamoFascists. I do cringe when I hear the religious right keep talking generically about “religious freedom” when they don’t bother to discriminate between legitimate “religions” that are spiritual and beneficent and the odious inhumane faux “religion” of Islam which is an aggressive, imperialistic fascist theocracy.

Islam isn’t a religion like other religions. IT IS A POLITICAL IDEOLOGY! So yes… it should be banned just like the practice of other forms of sedition.

Unfortunately it is considered (wrongly) as one of the world’s “great religions”….because 1.5 billion people are Muslims…due to forced conversion or by accident of birth. Until some authoritative body has the fortitude to delegitimize Islam as a religion, we’re stuck w/ that “freedom of religion” issue which doesn’t qualify what exactly constitutes a “religion.” After Muhammad’s hijrah to Medina..Islam became a terroristic warmongering political totalitarian ideology in the name of Muhammad’s sock puppet, ALLAH.

The US does have precedent to ban a religion. We do not have absolute freedom of religion, meaning if something claims to be a religion, they can’t do what ever their religion dictates if their religion dictates something illegal. If a religion dictates something that is illegal, then that religion is banned. Two cases come to mind.

Mormonism used to allow polygamy. But when that was allowed, prior to Utah becoming a state, Utah had to disavow polygamy to become a state;

“The Family” formerly known as “Children of God” which is a “Christian” cult. The truth is it has nothing to do with Christianity except the blind followers think they are practicing Christianity through the teachings of David Berg. It was banned because they completely distorted “love your neighbor” to mean having sex with your neighbor and when they started teaching their children to “love” then it was banned. A religion can’t advocate breaking the law. Islam promotes slavery, polygamy and terrorism to achieve dominance as well as religious discrimination and murder of those who apostate.

In theory, but in practice…Islam has a protective shield….because it’s a non-European culture. So was there ever any of the thousands of cases of FGM (which is banned) in UK or US that has been prosecuted successfully? Muslim men are polygamous and marry children…no one is stopping that. To even state unequivocally that Islam engages in human rights abuses, like Christian genocide, falls on deaf ears in the West. Islam gets a “pass.”

@Patrioliz
Yep! So true! So sick and disgusting. It is truly a sad state that Muslim sex grooming gangs have been allowed to operate without impunity for decades in the UK. And also sad is now that these beasts are “prosecuted” it seems they barely get a slap on the wrists. The UK’s legal system is a total farce and it seems to me, the US is following in their footsteps… at least we were under Obama. I can only hope that the swamp that is the DOJ and FBI and I’m guessing across the board is sufficiently drained that we can change course.

The papacy has nothing to do with Biblical Christianity, it is a fusion cult religion mixed with the ancient queen of heaven cult and whatever has been the culture and religions of where its popes have gone. Biblical Christianity has always been among a sparse group of nomad like people who never fit in with society around them just as Jesus never fit it either. The temptation for ignorant and naive people is to follow the authority figure and be deceived into thinking if anyone uses the name Jesus they are Christians and to be obeyed. Most people are zombie empty minded puppets and don’t have the guts to stand alone in this life against evil, no one wants to end up like John the Baptist.

“Christian terrorism does not exist, Jewish terrorism does not exist, and Muslim terrorism does not exist. They do not exist.”

So much for the infallibility of the Pope. Some say this infallibility is only regarding doctrine but this statement is theological in nature… there is 1 God of peace and the Allah that Islam worships isn’t Him. For the Pope to not recognize that shows where he holds his belt of Truth… down around his ankles. How sad for the Catholic church.
