When you see stories such as this one and others about Iran’s aggression against Israel, remember who bankrolled the genocidal aspirations of the bloodthirsty and Jew-hating Iranian mullahs: Barack Hussein Obama. He was truly the enemy is the White House. Thank Gd that now we have a President who is determined not to let Iran’s genocidal aspirations become reality, and is showing the mullahs that they cannot continue their jihadist adventurism around the globe. If Hillary had won, who knows what havoc the mullahs would have wreaked upon the world by now.
“Israeli Military Says Rifle That Killed Soldier on Gaza Border Was Iranian-Made,” by Benjamin Kerstein, Algemeiner, July 22, 2018:
Israel Defense Forces (IDF) investigators believe the rifle that was used to kill Staff Sgt. Aviv Levi near the Gaza border on Friday was Iranian-made, local media outlets reported on Sunday.
Story continues below advertisementAccording to Israel’s Channel 2, a major clue was that the rifle succeeded in penetrating the soldier’s heavy body armor. The armor was made of a ceramic material described as “level 4.” It is capable of stopping bullets fired by AK-47s, M-16s, and heavier machine guns. Nonetheless, it proved ineffective against the sniper rifle that killed Levi.
The investigators reportedly believe that the rifle was an Iranian-manufactured copy of an Austrian rifle called a “Steyr.”
Channel 2 reported that the IDF was aware of the fact that this weapon was in the hands of Hamas, but chose not to provide heavier body armor to certain units because of weight concerns and the low likelihood that Hamas would use this particular weapon….

It is a cumbersome rifle. However; the .50 BMG cartridge was originally designed during World War One to pentrate tank armor. By the time World War 2 xame around, tank armor had advanced so that .50 BMG could no longer defeat iy. However; .50 BMG could defeat anything else.
It is simply not plausible that a human could wear armor that can stop .50 BMG.

If you could reach uniformed troops, OK the number sounds good (or kill one high ranking flag officer for each IDF casualty not just dead).
If you are going after unlawful enemy combatants, you need to both “prove” status and raise the body count. Proving the unlawful enemy combatant status would almost certainly not be possible.

RIP Sgt. Levi. My condolences to his family. I hope the IDF establishes a counter-sniper program to prevent more assassinations of this type occurring in the future.
