Muslims Furious Over Bill That Would Define Israel As Jewish Nation-State

48

Of course, Muslim countries can self define as such, but one tiny Jewish state? Bloody outrage. Not to mention the 57 Muslim countries that make up the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the largest world body that largely drives the U.N.

The very existence of Israel is deeply offensive to devout Muslims.

Arabs Furious Over Bill That Would Define Israel As Jewish Nation-State

Joshua Gill, Daily Caller,  July 16, 2018

Story continues below advertisement

Arabs and Jews are protesting a bill currently before the Israeli Parliament that would define Israel as a Jewish nation-state, claiming it undermines democracy.

The Israeli Parliament discussed the final draft of the bill Monday, which government officials claim will legally acknowledge Israel’s true character as a Jewish state. Arabs and some Israeli Jews oppose the bill, however, on the grounds that it marginalizes Israel’s Arab minority and undermines the country’s democratic values.

“The main goal is for the ‘Jewish’ element to take precedence over the ‘democratic’ element, to change the balance,” said Amir Fuchs, head of the Israel Democracy Institute’s Defending Democratic Values, according to the Associated Press. “It’s part of a national and nationalistic process.”

Fuchs asserted the bill would not only marginalize minorities in Israel, but would also harm Israel’s relations with the Jewish diaspora and would also limit the power of Israeli courts.

Others criticized particular elements of the bill that would make Hebrew Israel’s official language and that promoted the formation of Jewish-only communities.

“The nationality bill is dangerous. It is threatening what remains of a so-called democracy. It is targeting the Arab minority in Israel,” said Ahmad Tibi, an Arab lawmaker, according to AP.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended the bill, saying the individual liberties of all Israelis would be preserved, but that the majority of Israelis support the prospect of a law acknowledging Israel as a Jewish state.

“But the majority also has rights and the majority decides,” he said at a recent event. “The vast majority wants to guarantee the Jewish nature of our country for generations.”

Naftali Bennett, head of the nationalist Jewish Home party, also defended the bill, despite having made compromises to take out some of the bill’s more contentious passages.

“The moment we define that it is the nation-state of the Jewish people, and the Jewish people only, we establish for the courts that this is a constitutional value,” Bennett said, according to AP. “It has practical implications and I think it is a proper law, even if it is full of compromises.”

The Israeli parliament will vote on the bill which, if it passes, will most likely face a challenge from Israel’s Supreme Court.

Israel a Jewish state? Golly, hoodah ever imagined such a thing!

The biggest mistake Israel made was not making it a JEWISH country to begin with. Taking in Arabs was a mistake unless they understood Israel was to be a Jewish country and that was the culture. We are making the SAME mistake by taking in MUSLIMS. Buddhists and others can co-exist with other religions but Muslims can NOT do this.

Think of it this way. The Chinese were smart. To work in a Chinese restaurant, you have to SPEAK and UNDERSTAND Mandarin or Cantonese. They have allowed Hispanics to be busboys but to be a waiter or a customer serving position you have to be CHINESE! Since they have done this since day one, it is understood as a job requirement. It keeps a Chinese restaurant Chinese.

A ‘chinese’ restaurant near me uses hispanics as the cooks–real chinese food indeed…

felix1999

They will hide them in the kitchen but they will NOT be the main cooks.
They will use them as busboys but they will NOT be waiters or waitresses. NO CHINESE restaurant will use a Hispanic as their main cook – at best they will be given jobs that aid in cooking like peeling carrots. Shhhhhhhh ….the Chinese look down on Hispanics and blacks and do not like them. That is a quiet FACT.

Yes they are used in the kitchen but not as waiters or waitresses to take table orders, which is what Felix said.

I saw a documentary on the formation of the state of Israel on Pat Robertson’s CBC, it indicated there was some debate on whether or not any mention of G-d should be made in Israel’s declaration of independence.

Those Arabs who stayed in Israel live in the only democracy in the middle east. They enjoy the very same rights as Jews, they like living in a successful and peaceful country where there is no terror or a strongman running things. They live quietly and do not ever make demands that are unreasonable, they never demonstrate, they vote , they have members of the Knesset and the supreme court – things that not one in those 50 or so Muslim states have or will ever have. I am sure they count their blessings every day.

Would you please explain who are those Arabs who incessantly demonstrate and get angry on Temple Mount. Are you telling us they are not residents of Jerusalem or Israel?

I read an article about it and it is both fascinating and politically highly sensitive because the so called palestinians keep claiming there never ever was any jewish presence on the temple mount. I’ll bet you anything that it won’t take long and the palestinians will claim it is all an israeli fabrication and an zionist plot to damage the muslims and the palestinians’ rights!

Muslims as part of taqiyya lie incessantly, so we can expect any false claim that ignores or rejects historical evidence. They are liars and have no moral compass. If Israel were run like a Muslim state these Arabs would no longer be living in Jerusalem or, in all probability, Israel.

How does the saying go? When muslums are a minority they demand minority rights, when muslums are a majority there are no minority rights.

felix1999

It’s a Churchill quote and a GREAT ONE!

Muslims in a NON MUSLIM country NEVER, EVER upgrade it or contribute anything of value. Today it is worse since Islam has gone back to its conquering intolerant roots! This was a BIG mistake of Israel to allow Muslims into Israel and you can see it is biting them.

In Japan, Japanese is required. In China Mandarin is the required language of the land. Ideally in the 1990’s the U.S. should have required ENGLISH be the language of the land. I see nothing wrong with Israel requiring Hebrew be the language of the land.

Now you have this:

“Arabs and some Israeli Jews oppose the bill, however, on the grounds that it marginalizes Israel’s Arab minority and undermines the country’s democratic values.”

Poppey

The inclusion of a Christian / Arab / Muslim minority strengthens Israel as long as the country remains recognisably Jewish in most important ways.

The objections leftists have when they bring out the “democracy” argument revolve around the issue well known elsewhere of “if you cannot change the minds of the electorate – change the electorate”.

If that was allowed to happen it would spell the end of Israel and the left would have done it.

How does having even one, single, solitary moslem strengthen anything, Poppey? I am not attempting to be argumentative. I am simply curious.

Well you might like to ask an Israeli that AM, but I would guess that some serve in the IDF not as muslims but Israelis, others live and work at their businesses IN Israel, making profits while benefiting from the rule of law there which they go tell others about who are less fortunate and live on the west bank or Gaza, Oh, don’t forget the healthcare. All that advanced excellence helps to undermine the messages of thoughtless hate coming from the other side. If you convert ONE from hate and violence IN Israel you have a chance to convert others, remember the “Green Prince” ?

Let’s start with healthcare. Any thing that wipes, following defecation, with a BARE left hand, as moslems are commanded to do … has NO place in providing healthcare. Moving on to the IDF: Having served, I would not trust a moslem (and I was killing moslems, in Kuwait) to not shoot me in the back, as opposed to actually fighting the moslem enemy. There is NOT one positive that can be referenced, about a moslem in Israel. Not one positive thing that can be said about a moslem, anywhere. They (moslems) are the vilest of ALL creatures.

Look how many “friendly fire” incidents there have been in Afghanistain. Then there’s Major Hassan (of Ft. Hood fame), the muslum USN sailor who handed ship berthing information over to Al Qaida (facilitating the bombing of the USS Cole), the muslum in the 101st Airborne who fragged members of his own platoon.

1) the word “jewish” stands for a nation/people and for a religion as well;
2) do not the arab countries call themselves “ARAB republic of Syria, Egypt, Jordan etc etc “?
Israel is a jewish state and she should call herself precisely that……..

Would someone please, kindly, tell me when Muslims aren’t furious, angry-faced, ugly-mannered and hate-filled over something or another. It’s a perpetual condition, contrived to gain some goal or another and influence the weak of heart and weak of mind among the now pampered, politically correct, easily influenced citizens of most Western countries who will react with, “If they are this angry it must be serious, so give them what they want”. I say, give them a bullet, it will put them out of their mentally deranged hatred, hatred like that caused by “hydrophobia in a dog”.

Gosh even if you don’t believe in God (I do) there is so much HISTORICAL evidence that Jews existed in certain areas for thousands of years.

Oh the Dead Sea Scrolls, Arab workers snuck out the fragments and sold them. Israel hide to buy them back from a broker using an assumed name.
Arabs destroy and don’t build.

Isn’t it true that Israeli Arabs enjoy a higher standard of living than such do in general in Arab countries? Isn’t this true BECAUSE of the Jewishness of the Jewish State?

What would happen if the Jewish Nation lost its Jewish character? Wouldn’t it begin to become just as discriminatory as most of its neighboring Arab countries?

Shouldn’t Jews and Arabs alike be grateful for anything that protects this present Jewishness of the State of Israel?
