FISA Applications Omitted Game-Changing Fact that Steele Dossier was Bankrolled by Clinton Campaign and the DNC

18

When DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz released his report last month on the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private server during her tenure as Secretary of State, he said that, although it was clear that FBI officials harbored strong anti-Trump bias, he could not find evidence that their bias affected the key decisions in the case. Well, here is your evidence, Mr. Horowitz.

Tom Fitton, founder and editor of Judicial Watch, confirmed they received documents (at 5:30 on a Saturday evening) related to the FBI’s application for the FISA warrant (and renewals) to surveil former Trump foreign policy advisor, Carter Page. Although they were heavily redacted, including entire pages, they do indeed indicate that the Steele Dossier was the “major component.” The documents can be viewed here. Fitton put out a statement Saturday night:

These documents are heavily redacted but seem to confirm the FBI and DOJ misled the courts in withholding the material information that Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the DNC were behind the “intelligence” used to persuade the courts to approve the FISA warrants that targeted the Trump team. Given this corruption, President Trump should intervene and declassify the heavily redacted material.

Story continues below advertisement

The document states: “The FBI speculates to the FISA court that the U.S. person was likely looking for information that could be used to discredit candidate 1’s campaign.”

It omits the single, most significant fact about the dossier, which is who exactly was behind it. The FBI, the nation’s top law enforcement agency, left out the game-changing information that the Dossier was bank-rolled by the Hillary Clinton Campaign and the DNC, which Hillary had bailed out financially and essentially controlled.

They left out the fact that Glenn Simpson, co-founder of opposition research firm Fusion GPS, commissioned former British spy Christopher Steele, to put together the dossier.

And they failed to say that Nellie Ohr, the wife of senior Justice Department official Bruce Ohr, was hired to help investigate then-candidate Donald Trump last year. She was hired to help, meaning she had not been an existing Fusion GPS employee. She was especially hired because of whom she was married to.

This is not speculation. Glenn Simpson acknowledged this in a court document, saying that they “contracted with her to help our company with its research and analysis of Mr. Trump.” He also said that Bruce Ohr met with Steele during the 2016 campaign. Following Simpson’s testimony, Bruce Ohr was demoted at the DOJ.

Had the FBI revealed the true origin of the document on the FISA warrant application, the warrant never would have been approved. FBI officials were keenly aware of this, so they hid information.

Following the release of the DOJ documents, Carter Page said, “I’m having trouble finding any small bit of this document that rises above complete ignorance and/or insanity.”

Powerlineblog’s John Hinderaker, who practiced law for over 40 years, points out four observations from his first glance at the documents.

  1.  The FISA application expresses confidence that Page was an agent of the Russian government, and engaged in criminal activity. But Page has never been charged with anything. Accordingly, the least we can say is that Obama’s FBI and DOJ were wrong.

  2. The application’s description of Christopher Steele and the provenance of his dossier was misleading at best. The “identified U.S. person” is Glenn Simpson, the head of Fusion GPS. Source #1 is Christopher Steele. The DOJ’s statement that “the FBI speculates that the identified U.S person [Simpson] was likely looking for information that could be used to discredit Candidate #1’s [Trump’s] campaign” could only have been an intentional effort to deceive the FISA judge. The FBI was perfectly well aware that the Hillary Clinton campaign and the DNC hired Simpson through their lawyers, and the purpose of doing so was to attack candidate Donald Trump. References to “speculation” about “likely” motives are entirely dishonest.

  3. The application relies to an astonishing degree on anti-Trump news stories published in the Democratic Party press. Does the FBI really get surveillance warrants on the basis of partisan press accounts? Apparently so. Notwithstanding such speculation in the Democratic Party press, the Trump administration has, in fact, agreed to send a $200 million military aid package to Ukraine. So the Carter Page warrant was obtained, at least in part, on the basis of groundless speculation in anti-Trump newspapers. Amazingly, the FISA application relies on “speculation in U.S. media” for the proposition that Russia was behind the phishing of DNC emails. This is truly pitiful.

  4. Fourth, we still don’t know who at the FBI assembled the FISA application, since that person’s signature is redacted. But we do know who approved it–hyper-partisans James Comey and Sally Yates.

That probably tells us all we need to know about the veracity of the FISA application. Perhaps one day we will learn that Peter Strzok was the Democratic Party activist who prepared the application.

What I really want to know is the identity of the judge who signed off on the surveillance of Carter Page, based on such flimsy grounds. Some are speculating that he must be from Hawaii.

Eyewitnesses told The Hill’s John Solomon last week that former FBI lawyer Lisa Page was questioned about the now infamous text from FBI official Peter Strzok, “There’s no big there there.”

Page, during a closed-door interview with lawmakers, confirmed in the most pained and contorted way that the message in fact referred to the quality of the Russia case, according to multiple eyewitnesses.

The admission is deeply consequential. It means Rosenstein unleashed the most awesome powers of a special counsel to investigate an allegation that the key FBI officials, driving the investigation for 10 months beforehand, did not think was “there.”

By the time of the text and Mueller’s appointment, the FBI’s best counterintelligence agents had had plenty of time to dig. They knowingly used a dossier funded by Hillary Clinton’s campaign — which contained uncorroborated allegations— to persuade the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court to issue a warrant to monitor Trump campaign adviser Carter Page (no relation to Lisa Page).

Everything points to the fact that Trump was set up by top officials inside the Obama administration.

And, if President Trump wants to put an end to this bogus case, he must order the DOJ to produce an unredacted copy of this material. I don’t understand his hesitation to do so.

Judicial Watch is a good organization.
II am glad Jay Sekelow is part of the Trump team on this too.
They keep plugging away at this. The corruption is truly mind boggling.

If Carter Page was an FBI asset and witness, responsible for the bust of a high level Russian agent in 2013, and remained so throughout the court case UP TO May of 2016, how the f**k it is possible that on October 21st, 2016, Carter Page is put under a FISA Title-1 surveillance warrant as an alleged Russian agent?

Conclusion: He wasn’t.

The DOJ National Security Division and the FBI Counterintelligence Division, knew he wasn’t a Russian agent.
The DOJ-NSD and FBI flat-out LIED to the FISA court.

Occam’s Razor: The FISA Title I surveillance authority over Carter Page was cover, most likely retroactive cover, for the DOJ and FBI conducting surveillance on the Trump campaign.

The DOJ-National Security Division and FBI Counterintelligence Unit didn’t care about Carter Page because to them he was a useful tool. It wasn’t Page they needed, per se’, they just needed someone, anyone, who had contact with the Trump campaign that they could apply the label “foreign agent” upon. After all, it’s only a damn insurance policy etc.

Unfortunately, the more this drags on, the more the outcome of the midterms rears its ugly shadow over this mess and where it ultimately will head.

Some one in authority had better put their foot down and more forward – or ELSE..

Agree. Clinton mafia still active after Trump takeover as they kill another witness to email investigation http://tinyurl.com/y8p9cv5l

They know their hold overs in FBI / DOJ /NSC will help them out !

Unless they are totally purged including Left/Liberal judges to keep out their bias …its uphill task to prosecute them.

Clinton has been opening her mouth with increasing frequency as the fall elections approach (Obama never shut up after January 20, 2017). She apparently feels safe for now. No orange jumpsuits. No threats of indictment or arrest.

You mean the vast majority of Republican congresscritters.

The vast majority of Republicans are either Tea Party patriots, or are patriotic dupes who naively believed the lies of their own “conservative Republican” Deep State congresscritter.

Let me get this straight. The Steele dossier was nothing more than political campaign opposition research to be distorted and manipulated for the purpose of fraudulently slandering Trump yet his so-called “musline ban” is held up in the courts because of things he said during the campaign?

It is well-known and accepted that campaign rhetoric is not Gospel truth so you cannot have it both ways.

Didn’t Clappar just tell CNN viewers that it was Obama that started all of this? I guess when he changed the National Authorization Act in 2013 to allow the government to use propaganda against the citizens, that wasn’t enough.

This FISA application (renewal signed by Rosenstein), was based on the Clinton purchased dossier, an unverified pile of garbage. FISA applications MUST BE SUPPORTED BY VERIFIED DOCUMENTATION, since this one was not based on verified documentation, EVERYTHING found because of the original FISA warrant is fruit of the poisonous tree. This whole witch hunt is illegal garbage!

“The FBI speculates to the FISA court …”.
Since when can a warrant be issued on speculation? I was under the impression that actual proof was needed and the name of the individual who provided the proof was needed.

He can’t. the political damage would be devastating.
Thanks to the SWAMP and I include Ted Cruz, they made sure he could not FIRE and APPOINT someone to take Session’s place. Remember that PRO FORMA situation? ALL in the SENATE voted to NOT allow Trump to do this and “stay in session”.

Try reading pages 16 and 16 in the FISA application. That information is presented in a way that it’s impossible to ignore.

More game changing facts concerning the dossier and its attendant slow-motion coup against Mr. Trump and the Constitution:

(These were identified by Diana West, mostly over the winter, but I only became aware of them over the past few days. They are still shocking, cutting-edge stuff even now, a real tribute to her powers of detection.)

Nellie Hauke Ohr
= former Russian history prof.,

= Russian language speaker,

= “revisionist” historian i.e. member of a movement dedicated to minimizing the mass murders and other crimes of Stalin and other Soviets, and making stale old Marxist theoretical claptrap seem new and fresh,

= CIA analyst (great, a pro-Stalin Communist in the CIA, just what we need)

= PhD whose thesis minimized Stalin’s crimes in the Holodomor i.e. 1930s terror-famine in which Stalin starved 6 to 15 million Ukrainian peasants to death by sending his secret police to take all their food so that he could sell it on the international market for money to pay for tanks for his planned war to conquer Western Europe. To write this unconscionable thesis, Nellie Ohr used materials she found in official archives in the Soviet Union, archives that could only be entered by Western scholars if they belonged to a handful of pro-Soviet writers who agreed to allow both the subject and its manner of treatment of their writings be controlled by Soviet Communist officers.

= book reviewer who reviewed favorably the lying, pro-Communist books of the most notorious “revisionist” historians,

= daughter of writer Kathleen Hauke, a Leftist who specialized in and helped promote the writings of Ted Poston, a left-wing journalist who traveled to the Soviet Union in 1932, at the height of Stalinism and the Holodomor, and when Stalin’s plan to help Hitler build up his forbidden Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe by allowing them to train in the Soviet Union was in full swing,

= daughter of botanist Richard L. Hauke, who was active politically in the nuclear winter nuttiness of the 1980s, a Soviet-led propaganda movement attempting to derail President Reagan’s nuclear rearmament drive of the same epoch,

= one-time CIA analyst (great, a pro-Stalin Communist in the CIA, just what we need)

= ham radio operator. This could be just because she loves chatting with her friends without having to use WhatsApp or Skype or whatever, or maybe she is allergic to modern digital technology. But it could also be because she, like the old Communist spies of Cold War days, wants a method of radio communication that is difficult for the government to detect and monitor. In other words, she could be a Soviet mole in the CIA. She applied for her ham radio operator’s license about the same time she joined Fusion GPS.

John Brennan
= former director of the CIA,

= a Gus Hall voter in 1976, as he admitted during the lie detector test he took to join the CIA (great, a CIA director who voted for the Communist Party USA candidate for president, more of just what we need.)

Christopher Steele
= Brit known as passionate for his hard Socialist views when he was a student at Cambridge University,

= a member of Communist front group Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament when he was a student. This was an initiative to propagandize against President Reagan’s nuclear program in Europe and, like all Soviet-backed front groups, was used as a recruiting grounds for finding young talent to serve one day as spies and agents of influence on behalf of the Soviet state,

= Russian expert in Britain’s foreign intelligence service, MI6, serving in Moscow,

= eventual head of Russian desk of MI6 in London,

= became Russian expert in Fusion GPS, along with Nellie Ohr.

Edward Baumgartner
= 3rd Russian expert in Fusion GPS, along with Nellie Ohr and Christopher Steele,

= studied Russian history at Vassar College while Nellie Ohr was a professor of Russian history there

= someone known for hard Left views, and for nasty tweets against conservatives,

= another Brit, now based in Russia.

Is there anyone involved in this dossier who’s not a Communist or a Russian agent?

Diana West’s magnificent “Red Threads” series.
