Six Special Air Service (SAS) soldiers have their service dog to thank for saving their lives during an ambush in a small northern Syria village. The team, accompanied by their dog, a Belgian Malinois, left their convoy to patrol the area on foot when they came under fire from all sides (known as a 360 degree ambush) by jihadis.
A source told the Daily Star:
The initiative was with the terrorists and the only hope for the British was to try and make a run for it. The handler removed the dog’s muzzle and directed him into a building from where they were coming under fire. They could hear screaming and shouting before the firing from the house stopped.

The incident was said to have taken place two months ago, but details of the dog’s bravery can only be made public now for security reasons.
His throat had been torn out and he had bled to death. There was also a lump of human flesh in one corner and a series of blood trails leading out of the back of the building.
The dog was virtually uninjured. The SAS were able to consolidate their defensive position and eventually break away from the battle without taking any casualties.
Highly trained military service dogs have saved the day over and over again in battle. The bonds which develop between soldiers/handlers and their dogs are often as strong as those forged between soldiers on the battlefield. Many soldiers ask to be buried with their service dogs if they should be killed in battle. The video below shows some of these extraordinary dogs in action.

As a dog and cat rescuer on my daughter’s farm for five years…..22 dogs and 3 cats living in her home like family….I can tell you that dogs go instinctively for the throat….no one has to teach them that.

Back when the Iranians captured the embassy under Carter and his attempt to rescue them failed because of sand in the helicopter engine…..a young girl wrote the President and suggested he drop a plane load of pigs into the the town….she explained to Carter that the Muslims would run from the pigs and they could go in and rescue the prisoners….it was quite a moment in the news…..but of course the feckless President failed to listen to her…..

Great story, finally some positivity in the news. The dog is a courageous and a hero, perhaps he/she will be awarded the Victoria Cross by PM May. Somehow, I don’t think it will come to pass.

I had a beautiful German shepherd called George. He definitely looked male and well a bit scary. People would literally cross the street when I walked with him. I had no doubts that the slightest threat to me and George would attack. Of course he was trained so no danger to “good” people. I hope these wonderful military dogs now wear bullet proof vests. God bless the military men and their brave dogs and keep them safe.

The one problem is, the dog didnt leave all the human parts in one place. It’s so much easier to gather them up from one spot when sending the filthies in dirty night shirts to a rendering plant. As a bonus, the SAS dog will get to eat that jihadi a second time, when he’s turned into low grade dog food.
