Story continues below advertisementIn a sign of the turbulent times, the couple’s $5.5million family home was targeted by two separate demonstrations, the first by their own neighbors over the Trump administration’s immigration policy on Wednesday, and the second, by an unaffiliated pro-Palestinian rally on Thursday.
Demonstrators from WeAreNotNumbers kicked off the Thursday rally at 6pm, shouting slogans over loud speakers and holding up signs which demanded ‘an end of US military aid to Israel’ and ‘Kushner: Palestine not for sale’. President Donald Trump sparked controversy last December when he announced that the United States recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and announced plans to relocate the US Embassy there. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the move warning it would inflame tensions and could ignite another holy war.
Ivanka and Jared, who are both Jewish, were also blasted for beaming happily as they attended the opening of the new embassy in May, while protests against the decision turned deadly in Gaza.
On Thursday, Jared arrived home to find the pro-Palestinian demonstrators outside his home. He is believed to have avoided the throng by entering through the property’s garage. It is not clear whether Ivanka was at home during the two hour protest.
She had been on Capitol Hill earlier that day, visiting the Rayburn House Office Building to push for senators to pass a bill to modernize the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education (CTE) Act, which was last reauthorized in 2006.

On Wednesday, Jared and Ivanka’s neighbors from the upmarket neighborhood of Kalorama, took the extraordinary step of holding a silent protest against Trump’s immigration policies.
The protesters, mainly local neighborhood residents, held candles and signs which read ‘Love thy neighbor’, ‘Tell Daddy, enough!’ and ‘Reunited.’
The wealthy Kalorama neighborhood, in the historically Democratic DC area, counts many prominent politicians and government officials among its residents. It was even home to the Obamas’ post-presidency digs.
But that was the first time that homeowners have felt so strongly about an issue that they have taken to protesting outside one of their neighbor’s front doors, according to Riley Temple, 69, who lives just a couple of blocks away from Jared and Ivanka.

‘This is a first,’ the retired lawyer and theology teacher told DailyMail.com. ‘These were all Kalorama neighbors. Under normal circumstances we would never protest outside a home. But these are not normal circumstances.
‘We shattered the custom because they have shattered civility.
‘These separation polices, the inability to bring (migrant families separated at the border) back together are crimes against humanity. And we didn’t want our customary silence and customary respectful distance to be seen, in any way, as assent to these policies.’
Temple was among the more than 30 local residents, and members of local houses of worship to protest against the ‘continued separation of migrant families without any apparent or articulable reference for reuniting each and every family, and each and every child, with his or her parents.
He added that he and other neighbors would often see Jared and Ivanka walking to synagogue, or their children playing in the park.
‘People give them space,’ he said, adding that the ‘extreme’ immigration policies meant that residents felt forced to act, protesting against polices they oppose at the home of an official, for the first time.

The protest came just a day after it was revealed that the Trump administration wouldn’t meet its federal court ordered deadline to reunite migrant families.
Jared had arrived home around 7pm from DC so was at the house when the demonstration kicked off around 7.50pm Wednesday. It lasted a little over 40 minutes.
Ivanka, who initially got home at 6.30pm, avoided the drama by stepping out at 7.15pm. She didn’t even get a chance to change out of the dark, skirt suit she’d worn for an earlier visit to Capitol Hill, before her evening appointment.
The mother and businesswoman did not return home again until 9pm at night, after the protesters had left.
Trump’s failure to reunite migrant families has sparked protests across America.
A dozen people were arrested in Columbus on Monday in a protest against ICE and the separation of families at the Mexican border.
Jared was at home during the 40 minute protest, from around 7.50pm to 8.30pm on Wednesday
But Ivanka was at an evening appointment and didn’t return until the protest was over (pictured a demonstrator holds a sign which reads ‘Love thy neighbor’)
Protesters also confronted Ivanka while she was visiting a school in Syracuse, New York for a discussion on workforce development programs on Monday. Around 100 protesters gathered outside the school chanting ‘Shame!’ and ‘What about the children?’
Others held signs that said: ‘No kids in cages,’ and ‘What if it were your children?’
The Wednesday protest has a more peaceful tone, but will have inevitably hit harder as it’s Jared and Ivanka’s own neighbors who are demanding they take action.
Earlier on Wednesday, Ivanka was in Capitol Hill for a Senate committee hearing on paid family leave.
Ivanka and Jared are the latest members of Trump’s administration to be confronted by members of the public over his controversial policies.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked to leave the Red Hen in Lexington, Virginia, last month over her stance on gay rights and the immigration polices.
Hard-line immigration advisor Stephen Miller saw his face appear on ‘Wanted’ posters near his apartment.

Homeland Security secretary Kirstjen Nielsen got hounded out of a Mexican restaurant with chants of ‘shame!’ at the height of the child separation controversy.
And former EPA administrator Scott Pruitt was confronted by a woman at DC restaurant and urged to resign ‘before your scandals push you out’.
‘We deserve to have somebody at the EPA who actually does protect our environment, somebody who believes in climate change and takes it seriously for the benefit of all of us, including our children,’ she said in a video of the encounter.
Pruitt resigned citing ‘unrelenting attacks’ on himself and his family, which ‘have taken a sizable toll on all of us’.
The controversy began after Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced in May that the zero tolerance was in full effect, even if it meant splitting families. It meant anyone entering the US illegally, even asylum seekers, were arrested and prosecuted. As their children could not be held in jail, they were separated and put in detention centers.

Around 3,000 children were taken from their families at the border until intense pressure forced Trump to walk back the policy, briefly allowing children to be kept with their parents in jail, before returning to catch and release.
U.S. District Judge Dana Sabraw, gave authorities 14 days to reunite parents with 102 children under five, and 30 days to reunite parents with all other children writing that the ‘situation has reached a crisis level’ and that the ‘chaotic circumstances’ were of the government’s own making.
But officials were forced to admit some families will miss the deadline. The administration says some of those parents have been deported, and eight have been previously released in the United States.
While parents were criminally prosecuted, children were placed in custody of the Health and Human Services Department. Trump reversed course on June 20 amid an international outcry, saying families should remain together.
On Wednesday, Trump conceded he’d missed the deadline, but said the solution was to simply tell asylum seekers fleeing their homes, not to come.
‘Tell people not to come to our country illegally. That’s the solution. Don’t come to our country illegally. Come like other people do. Come legally.’
Trump and his administration have faced a furious backlash over the immigration policy and Ivanka has remained incredibly quiet on the subject.

This is ridiculous! Separation of ILLEGAL children from ILLEGAL parents crossing the border ILLEGALLY has been going on for at leas 20 years! Where were they when Obama literally had illegal kids in cages? Why is this being allowed? This is outright harassment! Ivanka’s latest liberal policy that she is pushing will KILL small and medium sized businesses. She wants a woman and her “partner” to BOTH have 9 months off for family leave. It puts more of a burden on others and you have to let them have their position back when they return. There is NO reason for this. A business is there to make money. Your personal life must be managed by you!
Large corporations can better absorb the disruption. Also reducing time for FELONS doesn’t make me happy either! I want more in prison as wells as MORE deportations! Javanka wants REDUCED time for felons. Perhaps it is because Jared’s dad served time for embezzlement? Either way the policies they push are at odds with what her FATHER ran on. Our constitution allows for the right to protest, and I respect that right. Nevertheless stupid people will always seem to do stupid things, like choosing to protest in front of the home of the daughter to the President. My own observation of the crowd was that it was relatively small, which leads me to believe that most of us out there accept the reality that our true friend is Israel and its people, and that the so-called “Palestinians” are nothing but violent, murderous believers of a malignant religion, who cannot accept the reality that Israel is here to stay and that their insistence at calling that state “occupiers” is fallacious and without merit. Nevertheless, I hope that the security personnel keep these foolish protesters far enough away from the house to preclude them from interfering with free access into and out of the home.

In Virginia, there are detailed harassment laws. Punishment up to $2500 fine and jail time. Protests are treated differently. There is an article on thebullelephant.com that outlines the differences.

GOP Congress has oversight over District of Columbia, could demand enforcement of public nuisance, unlawful assembly, demonstrating without a permit, harassment, assault, noise limits, disturbing the peace, and loitering laws…but does NOTHING. Thus, GOP enables this stuff. Someone has got to act in Congress, take away Federal Payment and maybe abolish local self-rule, after serious hearings on C-Span…unless they stop ASAP. That is what I want to know. I just recently had a discussion with our Fire Chief about this after our roadway was occupied by people putting on a firework display. As I understand it, public walkways and streets are available to the public for walking and operating motor vehicles. Camping out or obstructing these right of ways is preventing them from being used as intended and is illegal. If they wish to have a public event then they need a permit to do so.

I read the other day we spend over $34,000 housing each UAM.
I’m surprised there are any kids left in Latin America.
They get FREE medical exams, dental, schooling,

Maybe I’m missing something but I don’t think it is legal to harass people at a private residence. This isn’t a business or office. It’s their house. Police should be sent to break it up and if needed arrest people that won’t leave. Your freedom of speech isn’t a power to harass someone in violation of their rights.

With their wealth, they can easily afford to install a sprinkler system that would spray a good 100-200 feet to both sides of the front of their home with a special mix of non-removable “eau de skunk” that would splatter on and scatter these idiots. It would also put all their friends off for a few days until the stench wears off. It would also make it easy for the police to identify all present and fine them with 3-4 misdemeanor charges like loitering, obstruction of sidewalk, conspiring to intimidate US citizens, etc, etc. These judges can come up with some pretty creative charges if they put their mind to it and make it so uncomfortable for these “self-righteous, elitist do nothings” that they will never come back. Just sayin’, ya know !!!! :):)

How are those people even allowed to get near their home? Where is the security? Also,they really do not look like they live in that neighborhood. And why are they all so stupid, not to mention hypocritical? Soooooooooo fed up that we are asked to put up with this. smh

Due to the zoning laws in Mississippi demonstrations and protests are not allowed in residential areas regardless of where the people live. Plus these people would have to apply for and get a permit. I suppose they do not follow any laws in Washington D.C. If there is not such a law there should be, and it should be enforced. Doing this in front of someone’s home for any reason is disgusting behavior!
