Spanish City Cancels Israeli Concert in Submission to Islamic Jew-Hatred

39

Oviedo, Spain, the city that serves as the capital of the country’s Asturias region, has canceled a concert of Israel’s NK Orchestra because of pressures from Islamic forces.

According to Ynet News, Oviedo has been taken over by left-wing factions with open hostility to Israel.

An Israeli orchestra and ballet performance set for Oviedo, Spain, has been canceled.

And that means a planned concert by Israel’s orchestra and ballet performers has been given the boot.

Jewish News Syndicate has more:

The city of Oviedo, the capital of Spain’s Asturias region, has purportedly canceled an upcoming concert by Israel’s NK Orchestra and a ballet performance.

The producer of the concert set to take place in Oviedo this fall received a notice from the Spanish town saying the decision was made for political reasons not to hold Israeli activities there, reported Ynet News.

According to the report, Oviedo, which used to have friendly relations with Israel, has been governed by a left-wing coalition that has becoming increasingly hostile towards the Jewish state.

The cancellation comes amid fears that the new socialist government in Spain will increase efforts to boycott Israel.

Valencia, Spain’s third-largest city, recently approved a motion to boycott Israeli citizens and companies. The resolution calls for the city to formally adhere to the BDS movement and declare it is “free of Israeli apartheid.”

The measure was promoted by the far-left Podemos political party, which recently supported the PSOE’s (the Spanish socialist party) efforts to oust former Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy in a “no confidence” vote and replace him with socialist leader Pedro Sanchez.
