If non-Muslims want to “gain a better understanding” of Islam, they ought to read Ibn Warrraq and Robert Spencer, for starters.

Northamptonshire Police said the move was to ‘show unity’ and ‘gain a better understanding’ of the local community during the Muslim holy month.
PSCO’s were this week pictured at the Headlands Mosque in Northampton, joining in with the evening iftar meal having fasted from sunrise to sunset.

‘The local officers, in particular our two local PCSO are extremely helpful and take an active interest in helping us and facilitating greater understanding between us.’
Positive Action Officer, Kamilla Poole, said: ‘Fasting for the day with no food and water was quite an experience and I realised that it requires a significant level of dedication and self control to do it.
‘As part of my role, I want to get deeper into the community roots to help increase participation and recruitment from all parts of the community.’
Chair of the Northamptonshire Association of Muslim Police, Sophia Perveen, said: ‘When organising this event, I didn’t expect officers or staff to fast, as it can be quite a shock to the system, however it was really encouraging to see them give it a go.
‘This helped to send a powerful message to the local community that officers are willing to try different approaches to gain a better understanding of different communities, their needs and how it impacts their lives.’

I don’t think that Britain has lost its democratic roots just yet but it certainly feels as if it’s going that way. What needs to change in British politics is the system of voting. The system that’s been in use for generations is known as “first past the post’’ and this can work fine for a 2 party system but gives any other party only a slim chance of being represented in parliament.
Unless this changes then groups like FOR BRITAIN and UKIP etc would only ever have the narrowest of chances.
It’s usually a battle between Conservative and Labour’ and I despise them both as sell outs of my country. We are in desperate need to change that system as the only route to power other than that is a violent revolution.

True, but please put this in proportion. Northhampton is just one smallish city, 99% of uk do not live there. The odds are that any daft thing will be done somewhere or other. It’s not like they are doing the whole Ramadaft thing for a whole month. Or wearing Islamodaft clothes. Meanwhile most people in the uk are not fooled by the “religion of peace” drivel. I think you have it. This strikes me as grooming people to accept sharia, to convert, or in some other way allow that Islam be considered as superior to actual Bible truth, or even the freedom to be agnostic on the whole subject of faith. It is amazing that a very large percentage of Western peoples still have not bothered to spend a few hours studying the true nature of Islam.

When was the last time a muslim police officer attended a religious ceremony of any description from any other religion to ‘show unity’ and ‘gain a better understanding’ of the local community? I have never heard of it and if we all need to learn about muslims and Islam then it is more important that they also learn about others.

Going without water for eighteen hours is unhealthy by any standards. This just encourages the Muslims to make further demands for special considerations during Ramadan and at other times. The fast is also a farce as they gorge themselves outside the fasting time and in fact many gain weight during Ramadan. So if the purpose is as claimed to identify with the poor and hungry, it is fake as the hungry are hungry permanently, every day and every month.
BTW as mentioned when do you hear of them sharing in Christian or Hindu festivals for example?

Due to the amount of world wide attention and disgust this injustice has now received’ the T May government are now scared that tommy Will get murdered and they will be obviously held culpable so they have moved him to solitary confinement.
In the meantime a top legal team has been put together for his appeal and his defence. All this due to people power! We must keep the pressure on until he is finally released.

Southgate, North London:
Greek Orthodox churchgoer Georgia Savva was disgusted when her CCTV caught a takeaway delivery driver ripping a Christian cross from her home and throwing it to the ground as he delivered a curry she had ordered from a Bangladeshi-owned business.
The Palm Sunday cross that had been on display by her front door for years was torn into pieces and left scattered on her doormat. She has reported the vandalism as an anti-religious hate crime and says she will not let the matter go.
The restaurant was slow to respond to her complaint but has since put up an apology to Georgia and blamed Ramadan for the fact they haven’t got back to her.
