Shahzahan Bachchu, who was gunned down, has been a target of jihadis for quite some time, according to the police and one of his acquaintances.

“His name was among the list of progressive thinkers that the extremists had prepared for execution,” he said, citing the family of the victim.

DHAKA: A prominent Bangladeshi writer and publisher was dragged out of a shop and shot dead by unidentified attackers in central Bangladesh, ending a lull in the killings of secular bloggers and activists in the Muslim-majority country.
Shahzahan Bachchu, 60, an outspoken proponent of secular principles and owner of a publishing house ‘Bishaka Prokashoni’ that specialised in publishing poetry, was gunned down in his ancestral village Kakaldi in Munshiganj district last evening by five assailants.
Shahzahan Bachchu had gone to meet friends at a pharmacy shop near his home before iftar, when the five attackers on two motorcycles came into the area. They blasted a crude bomb outside the pharmacy, creating panic, the Dhaka Tribune reported.
They then dragged Shahzahan out of the shop and shot him, a senior superintendent of police was quoted as saying by the daily.
Although no group has claimed responsibility, police officials from the counter-terrorism department are investigating the murder as a possible targeted attack by Islamist extremists.

It seems that Bangladesh is following Pakistan’s example down the path of darkness and death. I hoped the Bengalis would have better sense, since so many of them have family in India, but apparently not so. 🙁

Significant it is that after Bengali Muslim – for political reasons better known to the world as ‘Rohingya’ Muslim – because of the violent and murderous actions of their members were driven out of Myanmar, Bangladesh was presented to the world as this ‘good’ country that so sympathetically accepted Muslim refugees. Meanwhile, some time before this event I had learned that Bangladesh is mostly a miserable country for Christians and Hindus – because of the violent actions of intolerant and hate-filled Muslims. So here we go, another predominantly Muslim country goes down the road of miserable Pakistan, but just watch the UN and other international bodies do nothing about it.

Bangladesh? Pakistain? What’s the difference? They’re both totalitarian, theocratic, religious apartheid, muslum states.
At one point Bangladesh was part of Pakistain but when Bangladesh broke away and formed their own country they went genocidal on the Hindu populace.

Yup. The rector of my old Episcopal (“low church”) church would have a stroke if he could hear the cultural Marxist Social Justice Warrior intersectionalist progressive hogwash that goes on in the once sane premises of his congregation. And that’s not even as bad as the UU’s (Unitarian-Universalists) down the street screening BDS hate-the-Jews films and hanging out rainbow transgenderist and (Only) Black Live Matter banners to greet the hijabed sharia-compliant refugee advocates. All with a big “Love Thy Neighbor” sign on the lawn. Sad.

The “church” has brought allot of this on trying to gain more member$. They preach what people want to hear rather than Biblical truth. Who wants to hear LBGT and abortion are wrong? I am not suggesting we murder them but we should be able to talk openly about it being wrong, in a kind way, even if it hurts feelings.
The life of a true follower is not easy today. It’s easier and for many churche$ to preach politically correct nonsense. We seem to be here:

Muslims of Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh are in fact victims of Islamic aggression and are the descendants of Hindu and Buddhist women who were raped and enslaved by Arabs and Turks and forced to become Muslims. Are you serious? Go back to the Sanatana way of life? This is another silly utopia that doesn’t work! I really think they an handle a better worldview than that. It’s good they LEFT that way of life. Islam would not be a good replacement.
Why not promote Christianity? The U.S. was founded on Judeo Christian principles. We never lack for people wanting to come here from the blessings of that? I kind of view your take on this as soft bigotry…I see no reason why they should go backwards when there are better options available.
