Terrorists in Gun-Free Schools

Pop quiz: True or false:1 Florida’s students are safe – from every conceivable weapon – because the recently enacted Safety Act 2 prevents all violence: indeed, all laws are now followed by, and thus will stop, persons who are mentally ill; as well as persons who commit criminal acts, particularly Islamic jihad.

Not so fast. There are a lot of “ifs” to the Safety Act’s Guardian Program:3 “if the sheriff so chooses,” and if the school board approves, to appoint as “a School Guardian,” an individual who has a hyphenated job description – a teacher-administrator, (not just a teacher) – and jumps through more hoops of training than a unicorn at a circus operated by PETA.

Meanwhile, in Florida’s fantasy land, bureaucrats and taxpayers are willing to pony-up hundreds of thousands of dollars for armed police officers – School Resource Officers or Marshals – in every school. Of course not.

Story continues below advertisement

Don’t worry, here is our fail-safe: prevent the sale or transfer of any firearm to a person, age 18-21. That age group is responsible for all criminal acts throughout human history. Innocent is every person, age 17 and younger; as well as age 22 and older.

For the sake of our children, ignore the Second Amendment’s phrase, “…shall not be infringed.”

The above is ridiculous. Criminal acts, particularly Islamic jihad, have been committed by persons age 22 and older.

Is Florida’s Safety Act unconstitutional?

Declaratory and injunctive relief is sought in a Complaint4 by the National Rifle Association.5 Allegations are identified as [C-¶].

“The Second Amendment’s guarantee of ‘the right of the people to keep and bear Arms’ secures to law-abiding, responsible, adult citizens the fundamental constitutional right to purchase and acquire firearms for the purpose of self-defense in the home. U.S. Const. amend. II.” [C-24]

“The Second Amendment right applies against the State of Florida under U.S. Const. amend. XIV.” [C-25]

“At 18 years of age, law-abiding citizens in this country are considered adults for almost all purposes and certainly for the purposes of the exercise of fundamental constitutional rights. At 18, citizens are eligible to serve in the military–to fight and die by arms for the country.” [C-3] 6

“Florida law independently limits access to firearms for individuals who are considered unsafe, mentally unstable, or otherwise incapable of safely operating a firearm.” [C-15] 7

“Independent provisions of federal law also already significantly constrain the right of adult citizens … [A] federally licensed firearm dealer may not sell to any individual under the age of 21 any handgun–the ‘quintessential self-defense weapon’ which is ‘the most popular weapon chosen by Americans for self-defense in the home.’” [C-16] 8

“Florida’s new ban9 broadens these preexisting limits, by (1) extending the ban to rifles and shotguns, in addition to handguns, and (2) prohibiting these law-abiding, adult citizens from purchasing these firearms from any source, not just federally licensed dealers.” [C-16]

“But for [… the] ban, [NRA members within this class, 18-21, would otherwise be lawfully eligible to] purchase handguns, rifles, or shotguns for lawful purposes … But for [… the] ban, some of these members would purchase handguns from a lawful source other than a federally licensed firearm dealer, such as a private seller or a family member.” [C-21]

“This ban particularly infringes upon, and imposes an impermissible burden upon, the Second Amendment rights of those NRA members described above who are female. Females between the ages of 18 and 21 pose a relatively slight risk of perpetrating a school shooting such as the one that occurred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, or for that matter, a violent crime of any kind.” 10 [C-32]

Imagine you are between ages 18-21 today.

Consider these hypotheticals, which may concern a person of any age:

Are you a student in college? “Florida expressly prohibits the carrying of firearms on college campuses (including those by concealed weapons permit holders,” according to Armed Campuses,11 whose website notes a “Parking Lot Exception – In 2014, Florida’s 1st District Court of Appeals declared that universities could not prevent students (with concealed carry permits) from storing firearms in their cars.” Further restrictions can be imposed by trustees of a college 12 and university.13

Firearms likely are prohibited at venues of entertainment or sports.

Are firearms prohibited by your employer? If the business rents a location, does the lease prohibit firearms?

Is there a school or daycare affiliated with your church or synagogue? Does the school’s choir or other group have presentations in the sanctuary during worship services? This is a grey area of law, and a concern for the holder of a permit for a concealed weapon.

Terrorists in the gun-free school

“There is another reason to arm all teachers in our schools: the professional killers, the terrorists,” according to Vern Blanchette, author of Safe Schools Now: Arming America’s Teachers.14 “You know the lot of them. They are purpose driven and they hate any society that is not the way they want it to be.”15

The terrorists could be “just like the ones that flew the planes into the World Trade Center buildings … The lives of our children mean nothing to them, and they will commit the most heinous crimes against our children for their own twisted reasons. Remember, too, that these are suicide attacks. They do not expect to survive, so once they are in control of your children and the school staff, the ending can not be good. You will not even be given the satisfaction of seeing the terrorists tried in court and executed.” 16

The Beslan massacre

Pamela Geller marked the anniversary (6 September 2013): Raping for Allah: Terrible Anniversary of the 2004 Jihad attack in Beslan.

“The Beslan school siege by jihadis started on 1 September 2004, lasted three days, with over 1,100 people (mostly children) taken as hostages, and ended with the murder of at least 385 people.

Deaths: 385+ (334 hostages, 10 other civilians, 10+ security personnel, 31 terrorists)

Russia marked a grim, terrible anniversary in Beslan. On the first day of school, Muslim terrorists stormed a school, took everyone hostage and eventually committed one of the most grotesque and unspeakable crimes (even for jihad) in recent history.

Over 30 jihads seized the school early in the morning, when the children gathered in the yard to mark the start of the school year. The perpetrators forced the schoolchildren and their families, a total of more than a thousand people, into the school gym. The victims were held hostages there for three days, without food or water. Overall, the attack claimed lives of 334 people, including 318 hostages, 186 of whom were children.”

More information here, and pictures here.

A Beslan-style terror attack could happen in the United States

‘It is possible that [an American] school may be targeted by one of these groups,” Vern Blanchette reminds us: “[S]ome 50 terror plots of various kinds have been foiled since 9/11.” 17 He cited The Heritage Foundation (2012). Updated to 97 terror plots: The Heritage Foundation (2017).

Yet, firearms are prohibited via contracts often between teachers’ unions and school boards.

Bloomberg-backed, left-wing groups, such as Everytown for Gun Safety (a coordinated effort between Mayors Against Illegal Guns and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America) seek to prohibit armed school personnel: In WFTV’s report, at a meeting (04-17-18) of the School Board of Brevard County, Florida, the protestors were against the Sheriff Trained Onsite Marshal Program (STOMP). These ladies mean well, but their position – keeping gun-free schools – effectively communicates to terrorists that our children remain targets.

Yet the Brevard County Sheriff, Wayne Ivey, encourages a citizen to get a permit to carry a concealed weapon: “We’re in a different time now. We are in a time where you have to be prepared to [be] the first line of defense,” Sheriff Ivey said during an interview with WFTV (06-09-17). “We can’t afford to sit back and wait for the next act of terrorism.” See Sheriff Ivey’s Four As of Survival.

Conclusion

In his book, Safe Schools Now: Arming America’s Teachers, Vern Blanchette offers these sobering alternatives:18

“A. Students cowering in front of a murderer while being shot to death one by one, those not dead lying where they fell, their life-blood flowing out of torn tissue, splintered bones, and damaged organs, their trembling voices calling for their mothers with terrified, gasping breaths, confused and afraid, and medical help can’t reach them.”

Or…

“B. Students protected by their teachers, armed and trained professionals, who are able to take control away from the perpetrator within seconds, stopping the killing and then speeding medical help to those the killer hurt.”

“If you prefer the second scenario,” then Blanchette offers a solution: “[Y]ou owe it to your children, and the children of others, to get behind this national effort to arm our American educators and school staff. The bottom line is that all of our schools will be armed someday. It is only a matter of time and how much killing American citizens can tolerate before they say, ‘Enough is enough!’”

Meanwhile, the Americans may have all of the watches, but Islamic jihadis have all of the time.

How to make schools safe:

Start at Kindergarten. Issue each child a water pistol. Remove the pistol every time the child targets any unauthorized target, and if two children are shooting each other, the removal also involves extra school work, specifically not games. Teachers are tasked to identify children with anger issues and antisocial behavior, and immediately start to work to correct this throughout their school life, from Kindergarten through institutes of higher learning.

Continue this up through the third grade, increasing the punishment – but never involving expulsion or suspension – to instill a respect for the toy weapons, be they water guns, cap guns, rubber dart guns, nerf guns, whatever. Upgrade the lessons with visits by local police with real, unloaded weapons, to explain the dangers of such weapons, safe handling and respect, not only for the weapons, but for each other.

At every year up until high school set aside a target area for BB/pellet air guns, but these remain under the control of the school, not the children as they learn the ins and outs of handling weapons and respect for each other. Bullies in particular are not allowed to have any weapons when they are identified. What this does is the bully begins to notice that he is unarmed and his classmates are armed. Result is predictably a reduction in bully identification.

Starting in high school, children may bring hunting rifles to school, but no concealed carry. Any anger issues and bully acts results in expulsion, reporting to the police, and their record of this is NOT HIDDEN from the public. Result is that bad children are identified and cannot hide from view. That is a criminal trait anyway.

If you think this won’t work, then explain why you think this. Remember, though, I grew up with water pistols, pea shooters, spit wads, slingshots, BB guns, cap guns and rifles when I was in school, and I can attest that there was far less problem in those days than there are now. Don’t expect to win the argument easily. Remember that cantankerous old age and experience normally triumphs over youthful exuberance and inexperience.

Amazing how society changes in a generation or two. Of course, rural Iowa is different from major cities … yet ….
From kindergarten on, almost every boy in class had a pocket knife. If the teacher needed a knife, she’d say, “OK, which one of you boys wants to lend me your knife?”, and there would be a rush to volunteer, brownie points being what they were. In high school, those that drove .. pretty much always had a cased .22 and/or shotgun in the trunk of heir car.
I remember saving up, as 2/3 of my hay baling, hog house cleaning, bean walking, castrating bulls and boar money had to be set-aside “for college”. So, finally my 1/3 was enough to trade in my Remington 870 for a shiny, spanking brand new Ithaca SKB over/under. I was telling our Advanced Math teacher about it, and he said, “You have it with you, don’t you?” I answered in the affirmative.
We went out to the student parking lot, opened my trunk and uncased that fowling piece. He shouldered it, swung it around … and said, “SWEET, I’m going to get one of these”.
Can you imagine if that scenario took place today? SWAT teams, shelter in place …

We are talking of the real days when life was good, rules were set and obeyed, and everyone had the freedom to do whatever they wanted to do. My seventh grade teacher often borrowed my five-inch long switchblade, because I always took care to keep it sharp and properly maintained. My first gun was a .22/.410 Savage over/under single shot with dual triggers. Stupid me, sold the gun in 1970.

They still make those “over AND unders”. Stevens Model 42 aren’t as nice as the old Savage .. but .22/.410 are still manufactured by a few different companies … and quite inexpensive.

In my early days, water pistols, pea shooters, cap guns, and air rifles were quite common. All that was needed was a father’s supervision.

True. The problem is today that there are few father figures, nor men who will stand up and be counted to help children. It is very sad the number of single parents there are in the world today. When we were young, there were very few single parents.

Unfortunately…there are too many liberals who support more gun control, who are actually hoping that this actually will happen, to help force gun control agenda…don’t believe it? Well, I have heard some very sick, in my opinion, liberals voice this…and this is an actual quote from one, …”then we will get the votes we need to get all of the guns and shut done the NRA”…this very sick person and others like her support unlimited abortion, on demand…so they really do not care about the kids…it its all about their quest for power and control…(BTW…the person I quote also supports legalization of ALL drugs AND completely open borders! Very sick…I offered to pay for her one way ticket to Iran…)

ALL and ANY gun law violates the 2nd Amendment. Read it yourself. Don’t be like an NRA member (Nobody Reads Amendments) and a Demoncrap that both scare you about your gun rights being taken away so one gets your money and the other grabs your power.

Remember, it’s WE THE PEOPLE, NOT we the NRA or WE the Demoncrap. Those two are NOT mentioned in the Constitution.

The most High does not count anyone till the age of 20. So they got the age of 21 WRONG. It should be 20 to be considered an adult.

TURDLY, those STUPID signs that warn about SEVERE punishment for carrying a weapon (yeah, really making fun of the 2nd Amendment now) and the more SEVERE the warning the more it guarantees an attack by terrorist because they know, like, LAW-ABIDING citizens certainly don’t want to be PUNISHED for violating their 2nd Amendment rights now that “severe” punishment is in the works. Yeah, getting SHOT by me – the TERRORIST. (Yeah, really funny now, it’s Hillaryous).

And now the armed to-the-teeth terrorist is looking at that sign grinning ear-to-ear and saying, too bad they don’t have a law for me.

The ONLY law that works against evil men and terrorist is this- OVERWHELMING FORCE! And ironically, that is the LAW they are taking away from you to defeat these evil men. Your RIGHT to be FULLY ARMED, per the 2nd Amendment.

Agreed. When you realize the hoops to jump through to amend the Constitution, you begin to realize it was intentionally made permanent. After the two thirds majority required in the Senate, thirty nine states would have to ratify it. No way, Jose. The Second Amendment was not written for deer hunters. It addresses tyranny.

Well, the voting age was lowered to eighteen by the 26th amendment. The reasoning used was that if eighteen year olds can be drafted and fight for the nation with nationally issued weapons of war, then they have the right to vote. If they can handle weapons in the military, then they should have the right to keep and bear arms. But the kicker of this is that the second amendment puts NO AGE LIMIT on the right to keep and bear arms. This is why, up until the government decided to put an age limit on the right to bear arms, children went hunting, were often expert shots by the time they were six or seven years old.

In other words, I strongly object to the placing age limits on the rights of the child to defend himself, learn right from wrong and not be spoon fed a list of his abilities. Let children grow naturally, but train them for the real world, not some Utopia.

Believe it or not, I was an antiwar protester because I didn’t want to be drafted to go to Vietnam. I joined the USAF in order not to be drafted into the Army or Marines. After four years, the Army was trying to get me to switch to them, because my AQE scores were way above the average. Offered me all sorts of things like Warrant Officer, helicopter pilot (which I was sorely tempted, but ultimately turned down), choice of first duty (second would have been Vietnam, and I knew it – I wound up there anyway in Dec 1971 and all of 1972 working on EC-47s, C-7s, and O-2s). Had a major accident that took me off of the aircraft, so ultimately, I wound up doing all sorts of things from supply to legal, computer programming and training. When someone says “what did you do in the military”, I have to wonder where to start.

I shot my first squirrel when I was six. Single shot Remington bolt action, .22 short only. My brother, being three years ahead of me, finally got his own combination birthday/Christmas present of a .22 bolt action with “peep sights”. I had been shooting, tin cans and such, for almost a year, but never hunting. This goes back to when you could purchase firearms, directly through the mail, no FFL .. nothing … Point of fact, “Boy’s Life” magazine always had the advertisement for a Marlin .22 lever action “with the microgroove barrel”. BSA actually sold them.
We never thought of firearms as something utilized for “self-defense”. Rather, as something that was a passionate hobby. Squirrel and rabbit, then graduating to a shotgun for quail and pheasant. Deer population, in those days, was so sparse … never did anything about deer, except dream of one day hunting them. Raccoons, opossums, fox, rats and other vermin control … that was fun .. but nothing like shooting something that you’d clean and eat.

And “military look-alikes” like the 5.56mm I got for Christmas. Actual military ARs are chambered in 7.62 NATO and 308. You use a 5.56 or .223 in actual combat and you’ll get your ass blown away. Generally, the smallest allowed for hunting in most jurisdictions is .243.

I had never been much of a fan of the .223. However, I could not believe the price of the ammunition … brass case, in quantities of 1000 at thirty cents per round and the steel case Russian stuff at around twenty cents, for just an eighty round box. So, I finally broke down and picked up a Remington 700 bolt action, with a bull barrel, in .223. That stuff is FUN! Probably have more wrapped up in optics than I paid for the rifle …. but, inexpensive paper punching entertainment.

3 1/2 inches isn’t exactly competition bench rest, but … think about it … what size is a chest … or even a head? Interesting that you mention the SKS, as I was speaking with someone, just last week on them. Since the ban on certain Chinese imports … a few thousand dollars thrown at those, back then, would be paying a very substantial compound rate. However, Canada, not having that ban …. they’re only 200.00 or so …. How do you like yours?

Same here. I bought some inexpensive Winchester plinking ammo from Midsouth Shooters Supply. I also bought a nice Nikon scope from them since I reload for precision target practice.

I was at Fin, Fur, Feather, a little over a week ago. They had the Winchester .223, bulk box of 1000 rounds, for 299 … throw the standard .08 sales tax on it … 323.00 out the door. I’ve seen it cheaper, online, even after shipping. However, right there in front of me … hard to pass up. I know a young whipper-snapper (mid fifties) that is an active competitor in those three gun shoots. He swears by that cheap Russian steel cased stuff.

i prefer 7.62 x 39, 51 and 63. I had gotten some pretty good deals on 1K – 1.4K of Brass Military surplus. I do not like Steel cases. In February I saw a case of 1K S&B ,45acp or $237 + $8 shipping.That was a Ganga. S&B was bought out by Magtech.

I picked up 600 rounds of the Winchester .45, 230 grain, online recently, for $179.00, inclusive of shipping. Good enough for punching paper.

About 10 years ago A place called Kieslers out of Missouri , Sold Brand new never opened trade in Ammo and guns from Police Departments to Civilians and had Premium Winchester 40 S&W Hollow Point Ammo @ $159 for a 1K case plus very reasonable shipping. Soon after they

stopped selling to Civilians and the only way one can purchase from them now is if they are on a a police force or in the military.

Agreed. My only objection to Russian ammo I that the propellant they use is hard to clean up. Maybe I’m old fashioned but I fail to see the wisdom in paying hundreds or even thousands of dollars for a weapon and then running two-bit ammo through it.

I’ve never used it … so, I really cannot make comment. It’s just that I was shocked at the price.

More than likely, they use cheap corrosive primers.

I shy away from ammo of foreign manufacture. One had a squib shot and I wound up having to replace the barrel on my concealed carry Glock 27.

S& B has a good Reputation. In fact a Gun Shop owner told me that when some of the American Manufacturers were running behind that they would have their Ammo made by S&B. Which Brand gave you the Squib shot? I do know that many of the foreign ammo manufacturers use Hard Military Type Primers that do not ignite well with striker fired pistols.

.223,5.56 X 42 is still the general rifleman’s cartridge . 7.62 is much better . Something with the ballistics of a .300 Savage would be a decent compromise .

Didn’t they also have the gym rigged to blow up? I remember the horror of that tragedy. And all we hear about is that Russia leaked Hillary’s top secret emails that she had on an insecure server (like that’s a crime). That’s how she lost (one of many reasons on her list). Her crime was exposed!

Mental health as a weapon against the people is communist in origin..

Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.

Deceptive Transformation: The Truth of Soviet Influence in America and Gun Control…The idea of using mental health as a weapon against the people is communist in origin, and the social sciences, or the studying of human behavior has its roots in early twentieth century Russia when Ivan Pavlov developed his “classical
conditioning” theories. In fact, Pavlov was disturbed that Vladimir Lenin would use these conditioning methods against the people in order to get them to accept
communism.

Since that time the social sciences have been used as a means of maintaining control over populations and getting them to accept their own down fall. This is happening today in the United States as our universities and public schools have long ago adopted educational techniques based on the social sciences and classical conditioning methods. Subjects like White Privilege and Multiculturalism are used to demoralize our population, create a guilt consciousness and silence us into accepting a new agenda based on the idea that we have been unfair, and our lifestyles are
oppressive, and offensive to others. This agenda dates back to the early twentieth century; however, it saw some of its most major advances in the mid 1900’s after the U.N. was created in 1945. While many people today view the Democrat Party as being made mostly of communists or socialists; the sad truth is that the Republican Party is just as responsible for what we are seeing in education and culture in the United States today.

There are over 370 “mental disorders” listed in the latest version of the
DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.) The list includes
“Tobacco Addiction Disorder” among other equally mundane and ridiculous
so-called “mental illnesses.”

If the DSM is the standard by which politicians wishes to remove our rights
to own guns, then I’d guess 90% of the American people could probably be
classified with a mental disorder of one kind or another.
