Story continues below advertisementSalah Abdeslam, the sole surviving suspect in the 2015 Paris attacks, has been sentenced in Belgium to 20 years in prison after being found guilty of the attempted murder of police officers in a shootout in Brussels in March 2016.
Abdeslam’s accomplice, Sofien Ayari, was also given a 20-year sentence for his role in the shooting, which left four officers injured. Neither man appeared in court for the three-hour session at the Palais de Justice in Brussels, during which the verdict was read out.
Judges said there could be no doubt about the pair’s commitment to radicalism as the maximum jail term requested by Belgian prosecutors was handed down. The two men were also convicted for possessing firearms and each fined €12,000.
Abdeslam, who is being held in a high-security prison in northern France, is expected to go on trial for the Paris attacks in 2020, on charges of murder linked to a terrorist organisation.
Abdeslam was named Europe’s most wanted man after fleeing to Belgium after the coordinated bombing and shooting attack in the French capital on 13 November 2015, which killed 130 and was claimed by Islamic State.
The attack began when a suicide bomber blew himself up after failing to get into the Stade de France stadium where the then French president, François Hollande, was among 80,000 people watching a France-Germany football match. This was followed by driveby shootings and suicide bombings at cafes and restaurants around the 10th and 11th arrondissements of northern Paris, and an attack at the Bataclan theatre during a rock concert where 89 people were killed.
The death toll was the highest from a terrorist attack in Europe since 191 people lost their lives in the 2004 Madrid train bombings. Holland described the Paris attack as an act of war.

The European Ministry of Truth makes sure that only puppet parties are elected. Any party which will not take orders from the European Commission is labeled as “racist” and then marginalized. Europe is NOT a Democracy. European elections are only for entertainment value.

Does NHK have a special English only outlet? Because here in Southern Caliphornia we have NHK. Their propaganda programmes seem to have the theme that Japan is greatest country in world and you can’t live here. I don’t have a problem with that attitude either.

The twenty year sentence is the maximum since no one was killed in his shootout with the cops. The real crime is that the Brussels cops do not spend enough time and effort at the firing range to be proficient enough to end this thug’s life here on Earth.

Neither “man” appeared in court. Why? They should have been there in chains, forced to stand the 3 hours to hear what should have been their death sentences. (Time long past.) Instead, were they comfortably accommodated, being served halal food, before dutifully turning to hour of prayer, with special leave? Perhaps in prison, treated as honored guests. ___ Abdeslam, the accursed, is scheduled for trial in 2020. — Why not 2030? — I cannot imagine, how those traumatized for life; others whose world’s were devastated; friends wounded from loss, families torn by death, beloved mercilessly slain (if not tortured too), must feel witnessing this glacial “justice”. Finally, how would the dead, awakened from unavenged graves, feel, beholding such INJUSTICE. (See their life’s blood smeared over a concert hall’s floor! Who could observe raw images of the slaughtered?) —- “Where is the vengeance for our blood?”, would they cry? ___ But everyone must go on, per-usual, even when Western cities echo familiar war cry, shouted with extreme violence, or whispered with extreme arrogance.

It doesn’t matter what the Belgians sentence him to, they need not have bothered to even try him, just hand him over to the French who will try him for the Bataclan murders and he will never see the light of day ever again.

And when he comes out (most likely sooner than in 20 years) he will be even more fanatic and will continue where he stopped. But in 20 years, there will be no more reason for him to do illegal things like terror and crime, as by that time terror and crime will be fully legalized in Belgistan.

That is a colossal outrage!
Is there a magical number that must be reached till the DEATH PENALTY is reinstalled? Here, 89 people were slaughtered. Only 20 years is the punishment? Mathematically speaking that isn’t even ONE YEAR for each of the 89 people murdered! HE won’t serve the time either. They let them out on GOOD BEHAVIOR!

I read somewhere they came down from the gallery after shooting them and walked around STABBING the dying victims and that is why the floor was so soaked in blood. They wanted to make sure they were dead. People were shielded UNDER bodies and remained as still as possible as they heard and saw them doing this. Did anyone else read this?
All I can say to comfort myself is, God is watching andthis POS will not get away with this in eternity. God gives ALL Of us “free will”. We make CHOICES with that “free will”. All will be judged by the CHOICES we make with our “free will”. Yes, bad things happen to good people – people forget GOD has “free will” too! Sometimes He intervenes and sometimes He doesn’t. He has the bigger picture; we don’t.
