Israel Girds For Airstrikes From Iran in Response to Syria

22

Israel is on red alert, waiting for an attack from Iran which is expected to come any hour.

Iran has sent out a blunt threat of a looming attack on the Jewish nation. Why?

Israel recently hit at the T-4 Airbase in Syria, killing seven Iranian members of the military.

Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman, in response, issued this statement: “Gone are the days when the Zionist regime would hit and run.” He then vowed at attack against Israel was on the way.

Israel’s making preparations for counterattack against Iran. There are several different scenarios they could consider:

There are several ways Israel could attack Iran.

It’s not clear when Iran will attack — only that it’s aggressively looking at a battle plan.

Ynet News has more:

Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman stressed on Monday military preparedness and security will need to be bolstered, taking the cue from Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi who threatened just hours prior that Israel will regret the “misdeed” of striking at the T-4 Airbase in Syria—an attack which claimed the lives of seven Iranian soldiers.

“This is a strategic challenge of the first order, which obligates all of us, the IDF and the defense establishment, to step up and further strengthen preparedness,” Lieberman said to members of the IDF General Staff at an event marking Israel’s upcoming Independence Day.

“We are facing a new reality—the Lebanese army, in cooperation with Hezbollah, the Syrian army, the Shiite militias in Syria and above them Iran—are all becoming a single front against the State of Israel,” Lieberman cautioned.

This came after Qassemi was stated saying, “Gone are the days when the Zionist regime would hit and run. The resistance forces and Syria can defend their territorial integrity and national sovereignty,” he asserted.

He then asserted that Israel will “sooner or later receive the necessary responses to its recent crime and aggression.”

Tensions between Israel and Iran have spiked ever since the airstrike—”the first time (Israel) attacked live Iranian targets—both facilities and people,” as confirmed Monday by a senior IDF official in an interview with the New York Times.

The IDF was girding itself for an Iranian retaliation, the Times article said, but expected it to be proportional and measured. If such a retaliatory strike carried a toll of Israeli lives, however, tensions may spill over in the already combustible region.

Several moves undertaken last week attested to the Iranian determination to retaliate, Friedman said. First is the Iranian admission that its officers were killed in the original strike and their intentionally public and publicized funeral in Tehran—contrary to previous instances of Iranian casualties being severely downplayed by the Islamic republic.

Iran doesn’t realize that messing with Israel will bring the US into battle with it as well. But that is exactly what is needed and what GW Bush should’ve done when he was in power. The traitorous Democrats were going to scream and holler either way-but at least we could’ve taken out the Iranian regime along with Saddam.

I think Israel and the West should be more concerned about the thousands of Islamic sleeper cells in our own countries if things kick off. Either intern or deport Muslims the way the US did to Japanese during WW2 or they will kill a lot of innocents (esp Jews) in our own cities.

This could easily escalate into full blown war because you have two very determined adversaries and Iran has been itching to attack Israel for a very long time. I say bring it-let’s get rid of that terrorist regime in Tehran once and for all.

Because Russia is involved as well, Iran is likely willing to take that chance, as they could say they’re defending Syria. Trump lit this power keg, and an attack on Tehran could be seen as an attack on Moscow.

I’m not certain the US deported anyone Japanese during WW2, except maybe embassy personnel.
I also heard from a US veteran who fought the Japanese that the internment camps were as much for the protection of Nisei as anything else because there was a lot of hostility churned up by the attack on Pearl Harbor.

I agree with most of the comments below. I said years ago that Syria should be carpet bombed. It would be then turned into a giant farm land for Israeli farmers. The remaining Syrians left alive can provide low cost labor. Iran should have been nuked a long time ago. it’s a ways away, so the fall out shouldn’t affect Israel. Iraq could get some, however, so it’s a two for one deal.

Hezbollah should not be attacking Israel in the first place, nor should the Iranians be supporting them! Israel doesn’t want anything to do with Syria’s war, but Hezbollah’s repeated attacks across the border is forcing its hand time and again.

I see all these developments as the natural progression of the vehemence and anti-Semitism directed at Israel by the Arab Islamic world. Israel is surrounded by countries whose leaders continually express hatred and destruction of Israel and its people. Israel has learned from history that to be complacent and do nothing will only result in the kind of non-activity that generates violence towards them by their sworn enemies. They can never adopt a policy of appeasement, because that is contra-indicated. They must be aggressive, as aggression is the only way to blunt the hateful conduct directed at them by their Middle East enemies. Everything Israel must do must be directed at overwhelming victories of these enemies, an overwhelming strategy that prompts the people of these Arab lands to revolt and or reform their government in a way that they reverse their conduct to a recognition that their best interests are served when they cooperate and live in harmony with the Jewish democratic state. I hope the Jewish leaders realize all this an act accordingly.

Iran wouldn’t know what hit them if they do something stupid. The very fact that Israel flew its F15J variant Eagles into Syria and bombed the base and no one even saw them coming or going should give them some idea of how far in front of Iran they are militarily. The J variant has capabilities that exceed by a long way those of the latest Russian Mig. No F15 has ever been lost in combat in its 45 years of action.

Iran has much more advanced SAM batteries than Syria, I believe they have Russia’s latest and greatest. Then there’s the fact any IAF strike would have to fly over Jordan or Egypt or Soddy Barbaria and Iraq just to get to Iran.

Agree. Iran got its way by buying out scumbag politicians and media to their advantage for too long.

Dems were paid by Iranian lobbyists to support Nuke deal http://tinyurl.com/mcake4d

And their holdovers still support it , including the scumbag Mc master who was thankfully kicked out
along with Tillerson

Good posts, it’s time for Iran to pay the freight for their terrorist evildoings. If they F with Israel, they, Iran, will become a toxic dust-bowl/wasteland. The Democrats are consummate scumbags and traitors. Those who perceive Democrats as Democratic are total dullards.

As usual Israel think they have the right to attack Syrian Airbases and kill Iranian members of the military. Therefore clearly Iran would be justified in doing the same to Israel. However Iran may do very little. They do not believe in attacking other countries in the way that Israel does.

To be fair, Hezbollah should not be attacking Israel in the first place, the Israelis made peace with several of their neighbors in the past, they have shown a willingness to compromise more than once.

Yes, Iran prefers to attack Israel by proxy — through Hezbollah.

The Gulf Arabs are watching ‘harder’ than anyone what happens. They fear Iran far more than they hate Israel lately.

Well, the peoples of the Middle East have always hated each other on and off. The Arabs, Persians, Jews, Turks, Kurds, Assyrians, they all have a very complicated and messy history with one another.
