No, this is not ‘what Muslims do’. It is what a small number of Musims do, in this case presumably a Gazan Muslim loyal to Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the PFLP or whomever. The vast majority of Muslims would find this photograph repellent. There is much to criticize about Islam and many Muslims, but we can’t win the fight by being bigots ourselves.

Try telling that to the thousands of reformist Muslims who risk their lives in order to integrate themselves, their families and their communtiies into American and European life. The new Commissioner for Counter-Extremism in the UK is a respected Muslim woman who is deeply critical of the radicalism in the wider Muslim community. Is she identical to the radicals? Are Sufi Muslims identical to ISIS? Are Ahmadi Muslims the same as the Muslims who persecute and kill them? If we can’t use our brains to solve problems, we only make them worse. In case it interests you, I’m a former university lecturer in Arabic and Islamic Studies and the author of the longest critical analysis of Islam and the obstacles there are for integration. Maybe you should read something about Islam and Muslims yourself. Things written by people who actually know about the subject, not bigots and know-nothings.

If you are really a so called ‘expert’ on islam, why are you apologizing for them when, verse after verse after verse in the koran calls for the compulsory killing of the non-believer. Come on. It’s time to stop with the the ‘not all muslims are terrorists’ garbage. When they post pictures daily of their children being trained to kill, and you seem to think there are muslims who are “critical” of radicalism? Come on. Wake up, man! Muslims have their six lies that are tenets of Islam, It is perfectly reasonably not to trust Muslims based on the fact that lying is categorized for Muslim’s convenience.
• Taqiyya (Shia) or Muda’rat (Sunni): tactical deceit for the purposes of spreading Islam.
• Kitman: deceit by omission.
• Tawriya: deceit by ambiguity.
• Taysir: deceit through facilitation
(not having to observe all the tenets of Sharia).
• Darura: deceit through necessity (to engage in something “Haram” or forbidden).
• Muruna: the temporary suspension of Sharia in order that Muslim immigrants appear “moderate”.

‘Thousands’. How’s your math–not too strong? An incredibly small percentage of the cult. A truly progressive Muslim married one of my aunts. Maybe you might revisit your ‘critical analysis of Islam and obstacles to integration’. Did you for example cite that the Quoran is ostensibly a violent book and commands followers to kill non believers in the name of GOD. Is the hatred of all things non Islamic helpful for integration.
Most people who frequent this site have read the Koran and I would further venture to suggest are far more schooled in Islam that 90-95% of Muslims (most of whom have not read the Koran).
As a complete aside.I find it preposterous that Commissioner for Counter-Extremism in the UK is a Muslim. That really is like putting the fox in charge of the hen house.
Don’t worry Meqmac. Your side is doing well and the subjugation of the UK is well in hand. After all, our patron Ms Geller is not even permitted to enter the UK. Given the stunning capitulation of the Brits to the forces of Mohamad, why are you bothering to contribute to a little forum like this.

i think most people are stupid, i also think most people are listening to their masters in dc or the church or whatever. my point is that largely islam is still a totalitarin regeme pretending to be a religion, that does nothing more that take advantage of their stupid followers. the difference is christianity, of which im not a member, teaches self responsibility and persuation through words not violence. i think when we pigeon hole all people into a group we are helping that groups leaders form a more cohesive unit without thought- that is the antithesis of western culture and proper prodestant christianity.

The love of death is, to the Western mind, the most incomprehensible thing about our enemy. Osama bin-Laden declared war on “Crusader Christian America” and he meant exactly what he said. If the jihadists conquered all of Europe, that wouldn’t end the war for the jihadists. They’d just use it as a weapon to conquer America and destroy Israel — the only real targets of the jihadists. The U.S. is the BIG Satan and Israel is the LITTLE Satan. So yes, Muslims hate Christ, Christians, Jews and other unbelievers!

Well… not according to what Pew has found. According to Pew just last year. There are approx 3.45 million muslims in the U.S:
* 24 percent, of muslims in the U.S. support a “Fair” degree of extremism — that’s approx 810,000
* 11 percent support a “Great Deal” of extremism — 385,000
Taken together, that’s 1.95 million muslims in the U.S. who support extremism, and that’s just the ones who spoke honestly. I would imagine the actual number of muslims who would support extremism to easily be double and the ones who support implementation of sharia to be in excess of 75 percent.
We have allowed extremely hostile, hate-filled, theologically- and ideologically-motivated people into our country who believe it is okay to lie, cheat, murder and that they will go to heaven if they destroy our country and kill every non-muslim.
Anyone can read the koran, hadiths and a bio of mo to learn the truth. Had our immigration laws been followed by our pols, not a single one would have been admitted to our country because of their anti-American, subversive and hostile beliefs.

Your comment just about sums up the stupidity of the comments above. As a matter of fact, I studied the Qur’an in Arabic under a man who was at that time the world’s leading authority on the life of Muhammad. He was a professor at a leading university and also a Church of Scotland minister. In other respects: I am not and have never been a Muslim. I am, in fact, an atheist. I have a reputation as one of the strongest critics of Islam. My recent book on concerns about Islam is the longest yet written in criticism of the religion and many of its followers. I publish numerous articles doing the same thing. I have published reports in things such as hate literature in moisques and radicalism in Muslim schools. And much more. What I have no time for is out and out bigots who have extreme one-sided views while knowing next to nothing about the subject but condemning me and leaping to false conclusions about me (that I have neverr read the Qur’an, that I am a Muslim etc). Let me spell this out. We have to resist Islam, but we can only do that by resisting our own bigotry and by allying ourselves with genuinely reformist Muslims and ex-Muslims, of whom there are a great many more than you guess. Attitudes such as those shown here will only serve to increase Islamic radicalism and rejection of Western values. Muslims who focus on prayer, fasting, spirituality, and more, who believe in democracy, who work for human rights, who consider jihad and other doctrines a dead letter, who reinterpret the Qur’an, and more will eventually contribute a great deal to our own societies. But if you continue to treat them the way Christians used to treat Jews, you will alienate the decent ones and give excuses to the radicals to attack us. Bigotry and stupidity guarantee failure in all walks of life. It is time to grow up, become adults who read widely before making their minds up, and join in intelligent and rational debate about Islam, both its many faults and its not inconsiderable virtues.

People don’t seem to take into account the problems that centuries of inbreeding does to the genetic pool. By and large Muslims are not like us. They are more akin to dogs bred in a puppy mill. These dogs also have a problem with rage as well as impaired learning abilities. I use the example of dogs because all of us have heard of the problems associated with dogs bred there and not because I am calling Muslims dogs. The same genetic pool damage happens to all species that are inbred over time. One can’t really understand the problems with Muslims if one leaves this crucial element out of the equation.

Try calling Jews ‘dog’ (in the way many but not most Muslims call Jews ‘the sons of apes and pigs’, and see what response. Civilized people do not call other human beings animals.

Some years ago I read an article about a Palestinian farmer who, I believe, coined the phrase translated to “I shall not be forced to hate.” At the time I thought he was referring to the rough justice of the Israelis.
Note that there is no reference to who is doing the “forcing”.
The phrase has far more application than I could have imagined.

Problem is. Too often criticism of Islam earns one the title of ‘You are a racist’. The standard reply is ‘Islam is not a race’.
As this particular refrain is such a common arguement for those who choose to defend themselves from the charge of being ‘racist’, I respectfully urge you to avoid using the term ‘race’ when speaking of Islam or Muslims. Even technically, you are incorrect. The UN has some 57 nations who identify as Muslim, including Indonesia and Egypt. Christians nations are also diverse. One would not call Christians a race.
I am no friend of Islam. Islam is a creed or a cult. It is not a ‘race’. Language is important.

I’m not one to mince words. And, I can be quite vocal at times, especially if there are moslems (the vilest of ALL creatures) present. I have been accused of being a racist. To which my response has been, I hate rats and cockroaches. Does that constitute racism? Since moslems are FAR lower than rats and cockroaches …. why should my hatred of moslems be considered racism? Safety pin the grenade pull pin to the man’s lower lip after restraining his arms and head, letting the grenade dangle from his lip; then pin all the other grenades to the middle of his back and paint them yellow. I decided that we can expect to see continual new lows after that article yesterday about the poor donkey who was draped with an Israeli flag and tortured to death.
