The French court is ordering this because they’re well aware that “jihad” primarily means armed warfare against non-Muslims. But I thought jihad was about going to the gym every day. That’s what the Hamas-tied Council on American-Islamic Relations claimed preposterously in an ad campaign a few years ago: “my jihad is making friends,” “my jihad is getting the kids to school on time,” etc. I countered with ads containing real quotes about jihad from real Muslim authorities — and was, of course, denounced as “islamophobic.” The truth and reality are “islamophobic.”

A southwestern French court ordered parents to change their baby’s name after naming him “Jihad,” according to Le Parisien Monday.
A Toulouse court ordered Friday a family to change their baby’s name, who was born in August 2017, from Jihad to Jahid due to thinking the name alludes to radical Islam, Le Parisien reported. The court had the authority to enact the change to the birth certificate due to Article 57 of the French Civil Code that permits a name change for the “best interests of the child.”
The name Jihad in Arabic has several connotations such as struggle or resistance, not always in a violent sense. However, it is often associated with extremist Muslim groups. A three-year-old boy named Jihad wore a shirt to school in 2011 that said: “I am a bomb” or “Je Suis Bombe” in French. The back of the shirt read “Jihad, Born September 11,” Le Figaro reported. The mother defended her actions saying that the shirt, a gift from Jihad’s uncle, simply meant “I am cool” due to using the word “Bombe” that is also a French slang word for cool, according to La Provence. Jihad’s mother and uncle appeared in court in 2013 but were later released….

What seems to be going on is MUSLIMS are trying to have a DOUBLE STANDARD and REDEFINE the word so only THEY can use it as a name. Non Muslims will be scolded if they use that word. Does this remind you of the “N” word, where BLACKS can use it and NON blacks can not? Blacks who use the word, say it’s an affectionate term of endearment that only THEY should be allowed to use.

I suppose he’s already got three brothers called Mohammed, Ahmed,and Mehmed…There’s still Mahmoud, Mehmet,etc.. I know there are other derivations of the name Mohammed, but I can’t remember them all

Yeah … yeah … yeah! The common meaning is armed conflict with we Proud Infidels. Besides we are aware of the types of lying that muslims are encouraged to do;
Muslims have their six lies that are tenets of Islam, It is perfectly
reasonably not to trust Muslims based on the fact that lying is categorized for
Muslim’s convenience.
• Taqiyya (Shia) or Muda’rat (Sunni): tactical deceit for the purposes of
spreading Islam.
• Kitman: deceit by omission.
• Tawriya: deceit by ambiguity.
• Taysir: deceit through facilitation
(not having to observe all the tenets of Sharia).
• Darura: deceit through necessity (to engage in something “Haram” or
forbidden).
• Muruna: the temporary suspension of Sharia in order that Muslim immigrants
appear “moderate”.

It means “struggle” or “striving”, but its most common historical interpretation has been a physical conflict, not any kind of spiritual one.

they’ll change it to Mohamed no doubt. Funny thing how muslims name their babies mohamed left and right while Jesus is hardly used by Christians. Probably because mohamed is an easy role model to follow, you know killing, raping, pedophilia, wiping your ass with your left hand; while it’s impossible to be pure like Jesus.
