Michael Steinhardt reacts to student protesters calling for boycott of group’s free educational trips to Israel for young Jews

Michael Steinhardt, the co-founder and major funder of Birthright Israel, flashed his middle finger at protesters outside a gala dinner in honor of the 18th anniversary of the free trip to Israel for young Jewish men and women.
More than 150 students from colleges in the New York and New England areas protested in front of the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York, where the annual gala was held on Sunday evening. The students represented groups including Jewish Voice for Peace, Students for Justice in Palestine, the Palestine Solidarity Alliance and the Democratic Socialists of America, all of which support the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel.
The protest was led by Return the Birthright, a campaign supported by Jewish Voice for Peace and Independent Jewish Voices. It calls on young Jews to boycott Birthright and to support the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes in Israel. During the event, the anti-occupation group IfNotNow, which does not take a stance on the BDS movement, projected on the ballroom building an image with the words “Birthright Lied To Us,” and “Jewish Youth Demand the Truth.”
A quote attributed to the evening’s honoree, billionaire philanthropist Sheldon Adelson — “Israel Isn’t Going to Be a Democratic State – So What” — also was projected on the wall.
Adelson, a major Birthright funder, was presented with the “Guardian of the Jewish Future” award at the event.
The student protesters wrapped themselves in personalized Jewish prayer shawls and demonstrated by returning symbolic Birthright plane tickets. They also read out the names of Palestinian villages destroyed 70 years ago, and the names of the 32 protesters in Gaza killed in the past three weeks during the March of Return protests.
A photo of Steinhardt and the protesters was posted on Instagram by a photographer for Turkey’s state-run Anadolu Agency.

These people wouldn’t have a problem with Muslim Americans organizing trips to hell holes like Pakistan and Egypt, hence their naked Jew hatred. However as an Israeli, I have to say that BirthRight could be better, they don’t teach these kids anything to offend their Leftist sensibilities, they make sure to walk on eggshells. And these kids for the most part leave Israel as clueless as when they arrived.

More Jewish people need to be like Michael Steinhardt and just stand up with pride for what they believe in.
The protesters are jerks. Birthright is fantastic and an absolute blessing for young Jews to go to Israel and see for themselves how beautiful and amazing Israel is – the only Jewish state! Can you imagine if Israel had been established prior to the holocaust how many lives could have been saved!
Like Benjamin Netanyahu said in his speech the other day having Israel does not mean anti-Semitism will go away it just means now Jews can defend themselves and they have a home when other countries turn their backs on them and let holocaust survivors in France like Mireille Knoll and Sarah Halimi be brutally murdered simply because they are Jewish.
Did the French police even bother to speak to the two Muslim men who threatened Mireille Knoll and Sarah Halimi and make it clear to them that if they keep harassing them with death threats that they would be charged and put in prison?
Did the French police even warn those two Muslim Monsters to stay away from MIreille Knoll and Sarah Hamili?
In Israel police care about their Jewish citizens and if they are being threatened take those threats seriously and protect them. In France the police don’t care about Jews.
