Texas Man Gets 45 Years For Plotting Vehicle Bombing Of US Base In Afghanistan

Will Racke on March 13, 2018

An American citizen who traveled to Afghanistan to join al-Qaida was sentenced Tuesday to 45 years in prison for his role in a vehicle bombing of a U.S. military base in 2009.

Muhanad Mahmoud al Farekh, 32, of Houston, was convicted in September 2017 of multiple terrorism offenses, including conspiracy to murder American military personnel in Afghanistan and conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction. He was a key member of an al-Qaida cell that detonated a massive truck bomb outside Forward Operating Base Chapman, which injured one U.S. soldier and several Afghan nationals.

The bombing would likely have been far worse but for the fact a second truck carrying about 7,500 pounds of explosives fell into the bomb crater and failed to detonate.

“Farekh, a citizen of this country, turned his back on America by joining al-Qaeda and trying to kill American soldiers in a bomb attack on a U.S. military base in Afghanistan,” U.S. Attorney Richard P. Donoghue said in a statement.

Federal investigators say the Texas-born Farekh and his co-conspirators became radicalized from listening to Jihadist lectures of Anwar al-Awlaki, another U.S. citizen-turned-al-Qaeda leader who a U.S. drone strike killed. Awlaki’s sermons inspired Farekh to travel to the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan, a lawless frontier with Afghanistan that is home to al-Qaeda’s base of operations.

Farekh used his familiarity with the West to ascended to a leadership role in al-Qaeda’s external operations group, which focused on planning attacks against the U.S. and its allies. There, he helped build the vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) that was used in the Chapman attack.

Prosecutors read testimony from victims of Farekh’s bombing, in a sentencing hearing in New York federal court.

“On the day of the explosion, I was alone,” Private First Class Mark Ferrell recalled in a statement, according to the New York Post. “I was a 19-year-old soldier over 7,000 miles away from home. I will never forget the feeling of not knowing if I am going to die or not.”

Farekh asked Judge Brian Cogan for a more lenient sentence of 20 years, saying he renounced Jihadi violence, but the judge was not swayed.

“It’s by the grace of God that more people were not killed in this attack,” Cogan said. “A pregnant woman had a large piece of shrapnel in her back. That’s as serious as it gets.”

“I have to acknowledge the possibility that [Farekh] is not a changed person,” the judge went on to say.

America really needs to build a concentration camp in somalia to retain muslims and their sympathizers. As somalia has no government or law, the inmates will be forced to protect themselves from the locals. Make sure every inmate has cash and a wrist watch, they won’t last an hour after arrival.

And televise what they do to Left/liberal jihadi sympathisers in somalia. If that does not wake them up , send more of them.

And now GUCCI has gone step further to come out with fashion designs to please jihadis/ISIS Left/liberal pro-jihadis https://tinyurl.com/y7k93bs9

Televise what the hell they do to these freaks to the stupid azz so called Americans here, who want them coming here. And yes, since they don’t give a damned about our own American children, women or men being raped, kidnapped, beaten and murdered by these freaks, their azz should be right in the bull pit with those they sympathize with. Americans don’t count to them, and so they should be handed cash and a watch, as well.

Since he had committed the crime in Afghanistan, it is logical to put him in one of the jails there under Afghan police control.

One has to wonder how much more evidence the West needs that maybe importing millions of Third World Muslims into civilised, democratic Western societies might not be such a good idea. In today’s news alone, we have this maniac in the US; in Canada, Afghans convicted of murdering their three daughters in “honour” killings; in Britain, an Iraqi “refugee” is convicted of attempted murder with a bomb packed with nails, screws, and metal cutlery.

THESE ARE NOT CIVILISED BEHAVIOURS AND THESE “MIGRANTS”/”REFUGEES” SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN IN THE US/CANADA/UK IN THE FIRST PLACE.

You got that right! What I can’t figure out is what law here in the U S requires us to accept refugees; especially from the Middle East?! Before we allowed all these Middle East refugees to come in; how many terrorist acts did we have here in the U S (before 2000?)..

The law of tyranny. Our Constitution describes exactly what type of people can enter the US and what type of people can become citizens. Muslims do NOT qualify on any level for any reason.

“INVADING FOOT SOLDIERS’ is a more accurate term.

A form of madness has infected the West that allows the invasion of this potentially deadly virus known as islam.

It is called the UNARMED INVASION to get past civilized nations borders. Once accomplished they are foot soldiers who use any means available to inflict their vile evil deadly philosophy upon peace loving Christian nations. This monster shoot be shot by a military firing squad.

Why don’t they strip him of his citizenship for TREASON and let him rot at GITMO? Ideally he should have capital punishment. Forget injections. A bullet through the head will do.

Because his actions didn’t go to fulfillment (even if failure at fulfillment). As for his sentence, he’ll likely serve it at Florence ADMAX, which houses almost every terrorist or double agent convicted (or pleading guilty) of crimes. (The blind sheik was not imprisoned there, but in North Carolina.)

Please, stop!
You truly don’t know what you are talking about.

“An American citizen who traveled to Afghanistan to join al-Qaida was sentenced Tuesday to 45 years in prison for his role in a vehicle bombing of a U.S. military base in 2009. ”

“Farekh, a citizen of this country, turned his back on America by joining al-Qaeda and trying to kill American soldiers in a bomb attack on a U.S. military base in Afghanistan,” U.S. Attorney Richard P. Donoghue said in a statement.”

He is guilty of treason and given a proper punishment. I would have preferred death.

Treason: What the Constitution Says

Treason is the only crime explicitly defined in the U.S. Constitution The relevant section on treason (Article II, Section 3) states the following:

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

The United States Code (18 U.S.C. § 2381) repeats the constitutional definition of treason and outlines the range of punishments upon conviction. Specifically, the statute states that anyone found guilty of treason:

…shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

Um, did you even read the story? “He was a key member of an al-Qaida cell that detonated a massive truck
bomb outside Forward Operating Base Chapman, which injured one U.S. soldier and several Afghan nationals.” He carried it out! So, that pretty much blows your argument. Since he was fighting against our military, he should have been tried-by the military. And the POS had the nerve to ask for leniency. And people like you seem to defend them. I hope you don’t live in the U.S. For, you clearly hate it. And who gives a sh*t where every terrorist, or the blind fu*king sheik was imprisoned. Means nothing. They’re all vile filth, that we are forced to support. They should all be dog food.

Pamela, your summary i spot on, 45 years of free health, free weights, free food, clean bedding, sex on demand (free) and free to recruit to the demonic cause for the next 45 years.
Humanitarian decision not to kill him?
The decision is actually a blight on humanity, he should be put to death immediately without the chance to talk to any other living being.Without the chance to spread his poison.

Since the feds don’t do parole anymore, this jackwad will either leave prison a decrepit old fool or feet first, whichever occurs the quickest. Should he become a disruptive element by proselytizing about jihad and other such foolish notions, he will be placed in ad seg to get him out of circulation.

Don’t let this Muslim be sent to prison for the next 45 years of his worthless life; that will cost we the taxpayers at least $20,000 per year.
Since he plotted a vehicle bombing of a U.S. base in Afghanistan, he is an enemy combatant and should be executed.
We need to stop pussy-footing around with these Muslims and start treating them more harshly than they have been treating us.
