The inhumanity of this is appalling beyond measure, but it will get little notice. If the roles were reversed, and a Christian “extremist” group had treated a Muslim woman and her baby this way, there would be international headlines, seminars, marches, movements. But this will pass with virtually no mention from the international media. And she told the Pope all this — the same Pope who keeps insisting that Islam is a religion of peace. If only he could explain that to Boko Haram.

A Christian woman who had to watch her 3-year-old son drown in a river before she was raped and forced to carry the child of a Boko Haram fighter in Nigeria, shared her traumatic story with Pope Francis at the Vatican.
Story continues below advertisementOn a special night highlighting Christian persecution, where Rome’s Colosseum was lit up in red colors for awareness, Rebecca Bitrus told Francis about the horrors she has suffered, as reported by Crux.
Bitrus revealed on Saturday that while her husband managed to escape in August 2014 when Boko Haram, the Islamic radical group, attacked the small town in Nigeria where they lived, she and her two young children were captured.
The Roman Catholic mother was taken with her children to a forest encampment, where the terrorists attempted to force her to convert to Islam, but she refused.
“One of the Boko Haram said, ‘You’re not ready to convert to Islam, so I’m going to teach you a lesson,'” she said, recalling how her 3-year-old son Jonathan was tossed into a nearby river, where he drowned.
Fearing for the life of her 5-year-old son, Zachary, Bitrus said that she agreed to “go through the motions of Islamic devotion,” but inside clung to her Christian faith.
“They would come on us with their guns and force us to pray. Each time I bent down to pray, I was reciting the ‘Hail Mary’ and the ‘Our Father,'” the woman said.
“I’m convinced that’s what saved me.”
Bitrus was then married off to one of the militants, who raped her on numerous occasions over several months, eventually leading her to give birth to a male child, who she called Christopher.
After two years of captivity she managed to escape when Nigerian troops engaged Boko Haram radicals in a battle, but pondered leaving behind Christopher, who was a heavy reminder of what she had suffered. She even laid him down on the forest floor and began to walk away, but her eldest son changed her mind.
“Zachary told me, ‘Jonathan isn’t here anymore, I don’t have a little brother, so why don’t you take Christopher?'” she recalled.
The mother decided to pick up the baby and take him with them….
Francis, who also heard about the tales of persecution of numerous other Christians, including mother of five Asia Bibi who has been placed on death row for blasphemy in Pakistan, declared both women to be “martyrs.”
“The witness of Rebecca and Asia Bibi are a model for a society that today has ever more fear of suffering,” the pope said….

A fairly recent papal statement “Christians and Muslims worship the same god”. (he meant Catholics of course, as he doesn’t speak for Christians)
A pope also publicly kissed a koran, called Muslims brothers… and refers to bible believing, papal decree ignoring, Christ-followers as protestants. We are supposed to be called Christians.
Furthermore, the koran says in chapter 3:54 that Allah is the greatest of all deceivers. (some versions say plotters, but linguists and historians agree that deceiver is the correct term)
So yes, he may as well openly declare himself Muslim… he has all but said it already.

What happened to this woman is no less than what is now happening in South African to white farmers, their wives and children. Already knew all of this. If you want to wake folks up, who don’t know.. I’d point them to the Stephan Molyneux interview with a South African, titled “Surviving the horrific violence of South Africa”. Be absolutely certain to tell them not to listen in sight or earshot of children. (Not endorsing everything he says, but find this interview informative.)
For the true picture of what is going on anywhere in the world… ask missionaries. Yes, I am aware that the situation with Muslims in India is very bad, (ask any Hindu/Indian about that, and prepare yourself for a volcanic spew of an opinion) the situation with Muslims in Nigeria is outright horrific, and the situation the Rohingyas started needs resolving. At this point, only the return of Jesus can fix the world.

I agree with your last statement, but will say that in Nigeria’s case the best thing Nigeria ever did was in 2015 to invite in South African mercenaries who in 3 1/2 months did to Boko Haram what the entire Nigerian army had failed to do in 6 years. And they took no prisoners, just herded Boko Harum into ‘kill blocks’ where they wiped out the murderous scum.

I read a bit about the hiring of mercenaries. Thinking about situations like those girls being kidnapped directly from their schools, I honestly can’t think of any solution more effective than an experienced hired team of that sort.

Yes, I am fully aware that Islam is one of the most dangerous ideologies ever to exist, but those who are born into it, know nothing else, (and do not witness people who fully practice it, eg, ISIS) do not fully comprehend what they are a part of. Did you know that many Muslims are leaving Islam because they look at the actions of ISIS and then look at the books to see if this is really how they are supposed to be behaving?
