Christian Teacher Fired, Reported to Counter-Terror Unit After Telling Lesbian ‘God Loves You’

We’re in for a whole lot of woe, I tell ya.

Christian Teacher Fired, Reported to Counter-Terror Unit After Telling Lesbian ‘God Loves You’

A Christian teacher in Bristol was fired and reported as a “radicalisation threat” after she answered questions from pupils about her beliefs, an employment tribunal has heard.

By Breitbart, February 8, 2018:

Story continues below advertisement

Svetlana Powell was dismissed from the T2 Apprenticeship Academy in Bristol in July 2016 after leaders at the government-funded college said students had been offended by comments the teacher made.

Bristol Employment Tribunal heard that a pupil who was being persistently disruptive brought up Mrs. Powell’s religion and proceeded to quiz her on her personal beliefs in an “argumentative” way, LifeSiteNews reported.

Asked her views on homosexuality, the teacher said that as a Christian, she “personally” believed homosexual activity was against the Lord’s will, but that God loves every person regardless of their sexual preference.

The same student, who had been warned about his misbehaviour throughout the day, told Mrs. Powell that another pupil in the class was a lesbian, to which the teacher replied that God loved her.

Two days later, Mrs. Powell, a teacher of some 17 years experience, learned she was fired for “gross misconduct”, and that she would not be allowed to appeal her dismissal.

Chief Safeguarding Officer at the college, Sian Prigg, told the tribunal students complained that they were “brainwashed and preached to” during the incident, prompting her to report Mrs. Powell to the government’s counter-terrorism strategy, Prevent.

The Christian Legal Centre (CLC), which is supporting the educator in suing the T2 Academy for loss of earnings, said Mrs. Powell was fired because of her Christian beliefs, comparing her dismissal to how the college dealt with complaints against a teacher described as an “outspoken left-wing atheist”.

CLC lawyer Pavel Stroilov told the court that Andrew Spargo continues to teach at the college despite having been reported by pupils as spending most of his time in class “preaching to them on the daily basis about how terrible England is and how many innocent people the government has killed, as well as why Jesus never existed”.

He added: “By contrast, Mrs Powell was dismissed on the spot for much milder comments. In my submission, we have proven today that this was because her views are Christian.”

The case represents a “worrying trend” in Britain, according to barrister and CEO of the CLC, Andrea Williams, who commented: “The fact that Svetlana was reported to Prevent for holding Christian views is a sign of our times.

“It shows how Prevent will be used to punish innocent and soft targets. A radical rethink is required.”

UKIP education spokesman David Kurten told Breitbart London the case is symptomatic of increasing discrimination against Christians in UK schools at a time when militant activists are “becoming tyrannical in seeking to eradicate opinions which fail to celebrate every aspect of LGBT-ism”.

Neither the Christian or Atheist should’ve been fired. Everyone has a right to their own beliefs in a secular democracy. Their job though is to teach, not preach and they should stick to it. The worst that should’ve happened was a discussion with their superiors.

However it seems some students are instigating incidents to get them fired. Why are we going after people’s livelihoods for what they believe? Only those who pose a serious threat should be dealt with this way. These SJW types are becoming a serious problem. They attack people on social media for free speech and are doing the same IRL now.

From what little the article mentioned of the atheist, it does not sound if it was provoked. If the article is to be believed, it lectured, frequently, on its isms. There is no evangelist like an evangelist for the Atheist religion.

Umm atheists are the most evangelically arrogant b*stards I have ever met and they make JWs look benign by comparison. The crux of their argument is that they think that atheism is indicative of intellectual superiority and yet it is NOT. Atheism is based upon the proposition that there is no god. Nothing wrong with that. But to assume that it is a proven truth places them in the same camp as the believers: both believe in a proposition that is IMPOSSIBLE to prove. No one can know the truth whatever their faith (belief in a non provable proposition (ie atheism) is faith)and despite the arrogance of such as Dawkins and Feynman just one second of logic makes that clear.

“IMPOSSIBLE to prove”? Says YOU.
The God of the Bible however, PROVES that He’s real, to people all over the World, all the time.
HOW? For starters, by answered prayers, & by changing peoples lives & situations in ways that neither they, nor any other could do. Whether YOU believe it, or not.
You WILL know that He’s real one day, when you’re forced to kneel before Him, as your judge (Rom. 14:11)!

I’ve GOT a grip. What’s “obnoxious” is anti-Christians like you, whining & complaining, about Christians expressing their faith, & sharing their experiences.
I’ve got a constitutionally guaranteed right to express my faith on TWO counts: Freedom of expression, AND Freedom of religion, the same as you.
I didn’t PUSH my religion on anyone, anymore than Michelle “pushed” her beliefs on me, by declaring that it’s “IMPOSSIBLE to prove” that there’s a God.

If you can prove there is a god I am willing to commit suicide. Because you cannot I am not doing it. Why Jesus did not come today but in an era when almost everybody was imbecile. Does not make sense. He should come today and explain the grand scheme. The Trinity is symbolic for three dimensional. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are one convined in the three dimensional concept.

Although in Australia the Catholic church has dismissed and is still allowed to continue doing so, employees who for example engage in a gay relationship privately if discovered. Or otherwise don’t hold he church ‘s ‘Christian Values’. Although on past performance that may allow child abuse.

Get off it!! I guess that muslim child abuse in Australia (including FGM/gender abortion/rape grooming(official silence there)) is about 100x greater but just try to find the stats. Try to actually think before you beat the Marxist drum and post. I do not agree with the RC church in many areas including those you mentioned but to beat that drum in the face of islam is pathetic and clueless leftism.

Michelle You’ve missed the point. The discussion was about people losing their jobs for their religious beliefs. I was meerley pointing out that mainstream CHristian religions do that too. . You are just making up the “100 x greater” Izy does that alot , he just makes up a quote to suit what he would like someone to have said..Fortunately there isa wealth of recent reliable data on child abuse in Australia from their recent Royal Commission and it’s findings show abuse and cover up was predominantly be catholic, Salvation army , Church on England and Jewish
There’d be no point in an official cover up as these groups are the ones with political clout if there was to be a “cover up” But as most of the hearings were public, the notion is ridiculous.

Abortion figures are public as abortions are at least partially funded by the medicare scheme and the item number is recorded and numbers are publicly available
So stats are readily available IF you wanted to look , But of course , you may prefer not to see anything that contradicts your prejudices.
That reality is that in Australia, the issue causing most concern is not Muslims but Christians proselytising in schools with parents forced to opt out of rleigius classes and their children not being allowed to study during these times if they don’t participate
This sort of thing has nothing to do with Marxism or even Stalinism,Maoism Leninism etc They are just throw away word you are using for lack of meaningful comment.

They did not study Mosques and Muslim child abuse. The Royal Commission was a justified response to the sexual abuse by catholic Priests in the main. As the biggest denomination,it was expected they would have most. Muslim kids will rarely report sexual abuse anyway. One of the differences between the Islamic faith and catholic beliefs is that such is outlawed under catholic teaching. Mohammad sucked the tongues of little boys and thighed his 6 year old girlfriend, before marrying her at age 9. Hopefully the RC and the exposure of these evil perverts will help to weed out these homosexuals from church ranks, What they also did not study was the rampant sexual abuse of minors in Aboriginal communities. And….most sexual abuse happens in the home. BTW. The teacher was set up by these kids.

Ed Nantes
Ed Nantes

Didn’t study you say , Odd because another listed here mentioned somecases they did. You might recall from your study of the Commission that Orthodox jews were also as a community deeply involve din concealing the abuse.
If you studied you might also realise that All th major religious leaders in the various gospels also married young women/ girls.

Why do you specify “RC.. Homosexuals from church ranks” An odd comment in that there was plenty of abuse against females.
And aboriginal remote communities have generally been converted to Christianity. Not much slam outback
Speaking of righteous people , Old Barnaby Joyce that champion of family values and the right environment to bring up children and right wing stalwart, has just left his wife and four kids and shacked up with and impregnated his young office assistant. Oh the irony.

Yes disappointed, but ‘surprised’? There isa long list of public figures who preach ‘family values’but in practice only apply it to others. And some of the TV evangelists feature high on the list
We have a very good history of separating public and private lives until Laurie Oakes had to make a story of Gareth Evans affair. The French are certainly very adult about all that. About 40 % of married people have affairs.
I would hate to see us go down the US path of vitriolic personality politics. You can see the result reading posts here.
The is an element of schaudenfreude in all of this. Joyce have been part of that side of politics who so critical of gay marriage and described Julia Gillard as “barren” as thought hat wassome criteron for PM.
The best and final word o this was a letter in the Age this morning, where a lady wrote in expressing surprise that there were actually 2 women who’d fancied Barnaby.

In my work I had not a little to do with the RC church and I met not few gay brothers and priests. Naturally none of them admitted it but it was quite apparent to even someone(then) as naïve as was I. NONE lost their jobs despite the then view of that church Now if you have a boss with a definite view on some thing (say like smoking at work) and you continue to break this rule. Do you deserve to be sacked? Please try NOT to answer using identity politics.

Quote:”Fortunately there is a wealth of recent reliable data on child abuse in Australia”

My god you are naïve. Do you really think that any/all western government tell the TRUTH?

Abortion stats/FGM stats. rape grooming stats and child abuse stats are POLITICALLY CORRECTED before release. My info comes from the front line: those who have witnessed such or reported such. Australia is at the mercy of the leftist/MSM identity politics rubbish as much as any country. Why don’t you check up on muslim birth gender stats then check to see the enrolment school stats for muslim infants…you may well see a remarkable difference unless they too have been doctored (7 males per female) as the teachers union is part of the great conspiracy.

Quote:”That reality is that in Australia, the issue causing most concern is not Muslims but Christians proselytising in schools with parents forced to opt out of rleigius classes and their children not being allowed to study during these times if they don’t participate”
It only caused concern to ostriches like you who cannot or will not see what is actually happening and you really have no idea. I attended a Christian school and I opted out of religious schooling at 10 and despite some pressure I read a book by myself during scripture lessons. Please stop quoting leftist rubbish and actually THINK for yourself. islam will destroy the west aided and abetted by the likes of YOU based upon your absolute ignorance.

If someone expresses, again, when challenged for such … if it is not in line with approved government “thought” … Enough said.

Where would you go? Canada and Australia are descending into utterly stupid societies with media “no sane person believes” – as Conrad Black so accurately wrote of Canada’s media in a fairly recent column. Further, for all to see, Canada’s prime minister is a raving imbecile, “a teenage girl in a man’s body” as Ben Shapiro described him, and other than the premier of Saskatchewan, there is not one excuse for a provincial leader who should be in position of leadership. Australia lurches from one weak leader to another, none with the moral fibre to say ‘enough’ to Muslim immigration and clamp down heavily on disgusting Muslim behaviour. After 8 years of the disgusting liar, Obama, America is a seething mess in which traitors and liars abound – and most of the MSM a treacherous disgrace, haters and liars.

Democracy is dying thanks to liberals who don’t care one jot about the choice of the majority. Conservatives for their part have been too meek and easily intimidated by various accusations such as ‘bigotry’ – the lefts fallback. So minorities determine policy. This is how it works in Canada. The premier of Ontario is a lesbian, so now all children must taught that the LGBTQ life-style is ‘normal’ and the equivalent of the heterosexual life-style. Anyone with the IQ of a microbe who considers the human anatomy can see that this is rubbish, and anyone who researches these matters knows it is rubbish, but not to this woman and those of similar persuasion. What they do in private is their business, but they bring it into public view and then howl ‘bigot’ and ‘homophobe’ whenever someone objects to their thinking and efforts to inflicts on others their intolerant ideas. It seems no different in Australia.

The UK is as much a panderer to LGBTQ+ supremacists as they are to Muslim supremacists, even so far as to sacrifice the future of their children as much as they are of their girls to the forces of jihad. What would you call subjecting children to harmful and dangerous hormone treatments (whether to block / suppress the effects of puberty or to “transition” from male to female or vice versa) that have been linked to permanent sterility, impotence and infertility, and to even more harmful, dangerous and irreversible “reassignment surgery,” besides the obvious child abuse? Or, in schools, proselytizing that lifestyle to such kids for the express purpose of converting them to homosexuality or transgenderism? Any society that permits this kind of thing is doomed. The interlocking issue of continued Muslim immigration and the increasing hold they have on Britain’s government (per Denis MacEoin’s “Death of Democracy?” article) makes this situation even more precarious. If a government can’t (or won’t) defend the innocence of its youth against this incursion by LGBTQ “leaders” out to turn such children gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or whatever, how on Earth will it be in any position to defend its culture and heritage against radical Islam?

Mark Steiner

There is good money to be made pandering to LGBTQs or Muslims. It matters not if this occurs in “enlightened” Great Britain, Canada or the United States.

Also, it is “cool, dude” to be LGBTQ in America; so this is often advanced in a positive manner to lead unsuspecting or abused young people into – and eventually – support of this movement

Not necessarily millennial, either – that SJW nonsense was started by the boomer generation.

Gotta disagree wily – Boomers were ALL about SJW nonsense. Literally do not recall any Boomer who was not ‘down’ with one cause or another.

What may be faking you out is that Boomers – unlike more recent generations – have changed. I recall Boomers migrating enmasse to more conservative positions. Not changing parties or voting differently, but going back to Church, cutting their hair – or growing it out, taking care of the kids – and basically just growing up.

To be fair to the younger generations as well – I think many of them don’t know what to do with themselves. My Boomer friends all became professionals, business types, and successes. Their kids – by and large – are not. Even the doctors – I’ve got three Millennial doctors in the family. They are all good, smart young people, but they have stalled in dead-end jobs. They tell me it is the costs, but I don’t know. It looks a lot like depression, negativity, and despair to me.

About the same as you. I’m old enough though to remember what was said. I was literally at the babysitters during the Lefty riots in Berserkley and in school during the riots in LA in ’67. I remember listening to the loopy explanations then, and it did not make sense to me. And I was just a kid.

Notice this was Liberal Cali – not some “backwards” farming community where ‘normalcy’ prevailed for years. All of those Boomers were ‘down’ with the cause. But from ’67 to ’87 they all grew up. Ironically, the only one who did not grow up was my father. All the rest changed. Some even became flaming ‘normals.’ Ha, ha.

My dad’s best friend lost his job as a scientist (he was too white), and he became a doctor and moved to Napa Valley. He was a good, pothead, Liberal in ’67, but if the SPLC had his views on healthcare and politics today they would list him as a ‘hate’ group. And that change is what excuses so many Boomers. I know lots of Boomers who regret being fooled, and they are struggling to recover and to fix things.

As for millennials, you are right. I do know a few exceptions – but they are so rare it is always a surprise to meet one. But most are just ‘gone.’ I do not see the group ever being deprogrammed to any significant degree.

Yes. #Metoo. What is really aggravating is that I have lived long enough – maybe you too – to go from telling non-white Americans something to the effect of, ‘Just wait, and you’ll get yours’ to actually seeing it happen. One of my tenants is a very nice lady with two degrees in Business Administration, and she’s been reduced to working for peanuts in a non-profit – Never mind she is Black, Hispanic, and Female, and she was born in Japan (Air force brat). And she’s not alone. I know unemployed bankers, engineers, scientists, lawyers, and on and on. Tradesmen are the only folks I know who are working in the private non-retail sector. … We do have a major defense employer, a few oil related business, and some big farms and ranches here. Those buck the trend, but they do not have many jobs. Ag is all family-only, and the defense contractor virtually will not hire local.

Trying to solve the employment puzzle is maddening.

Now you’re talking out both sides of your face.
You say you’re “not terrified by Christians”, yet in your post above you equated Christians with Islamists.
You’re not afraid of getting your head sawn off, being electrocuted or burned to death, after being gang raped by a gang of Muzzies?

Maybe in the alternate universe that you’ve been living in they have some so called “Christians” that ‘come for you’, but here on planet Earth there hasn’t been anything like that done by so called “Christians”, or a “Christian” theocracy for about 600 yrs.
So do you want to try some other excuse now, as to why you lump Christians together with Islamists?

As England goes; can the USA be far behind? Are we looking at a precursor to how things will be in the USA? Are the Ministries of Truth, Love, Plenty and Peace from Orwell’s 1984 almost here?

It’s sad how they just deny any allegation and when proved wrong, shift to another pov and then deny that. Their final denial is generally followed by “you’re a racist”.

We are fast getting to the point where LGBTQ+ is now considered a “race.”

Whenever any minority achieves legal protected status. They wield longer noses and start sniffing around other peoples business, Franz Kafka got it right they Metamorphosed into human-anteater hybrids.

“Protected status” also elevates them to the level of supremacism, taking it as a license to act up and act out with impunity and without consequence, and carry on as if they are somehow above the law and any other thing which us mortals are subjected to.

Today, Homosexual = Bigot

I am old enough to remember when many ‘Gays’ were pro-Western, pro-civilization, and had a sense of humor. Had many ‘Gay’ friends once upon a time. But what happens when your ‘Identity’ is a Political Construct created by the Left to attack and destroy ‘normal’ … is that sooner or later your ‘Identity’ becomes identical to the Storm-troopers. And I don’t mean the ones with droids and weak minds, I mean the ones with cool uniforms and death camps.

Today, many of the Gays I know are too far to the ‘right’ for the Lefties. (Cause we all live in Texas and everyone packs heat, hunts something, and drinks beer while driving their pickup… ) But most Gays are like drones, and they need to wake up before they are no longer ‘useful.’

To the ComBox.

A society is not free when the State Religion trumps the teacher’s religion.

Conflating the right of a Christian School to fire employees who do not hold or share their beliefs or values with the right of the State to fire Christians from State employment means the State is NOT FREE … AND … HAS AN ESTABLISHED RELIGION.

The only difference in this case is that the religion of the State is commonly known as ‘Atheism’ – although I call it Secular Animism – which is their actual religion.

Secular Animism = A Magic World Without A Christian Transcendent God

Certainly the State has the right to fire Christian teachers – if no Christian has the right to question the State’s Established Religion – that would be the consistent test with respect to hiring and firing in Christian parochial schools.

But pretending that it is unfair for the State – while pretending to be ‘secular’ and ‘free’ – to have to hire Christian teachers who might teach the little urchins their letters and numbers, but not require Christian schools to do so … is a lopsided argument.

Furthermore – if, as I suspect – the discrimination runs only against Christians, and maybe a few loudmouths – those of you who share philosophies even more ridiculous than the State’s Atheism should

be aware of the Cardinal Rule for Useful Idiots … just wait your turn for the day when you are no longer ‘useful.’

Obviously, this teacher hasn’t read the Bible. But she should have the right to express what she believes (freedom of speech) so that when she does, if she is proven wrong, she can learn. I am neither homophobic nor pro homosexuality. But punishing people for sharing their views is extremely counterproductive. The U.K. has, because of it’s insane obsession with political correctness, multiculturalism, inclusiveness, diversity, and cultural relativism, obviously gone barking dog mad! Never before has Great Britain so desperately needed a Winston Churchill or a Margret Thatcher!

When you look at the spineless self serving imbeciles that pretend to run the country that care nothing about the people that elected them and are terrified of being un PC, in case they upset the filth that is being allowed to dominate the country. They are all traitors to the history and the heritage of what was once a great country. Two World wars to fight for our freedom and they are now the puppets of the EU and appeasing a cult that for hundreds of years has been hell bent on dominating the west and these pathetic idiots are just waving them in and wetting themselves, if by chance they should upset them. Patriots are now the enemy of the state. Britain is finished. They have an unelected PM who worships Islam more than many Muslims do. She is a disgrace. She treats the indigenous population with such distain, while continually telling them lies that everything is fine and she is dumb enough to actually think they believe her.
