President Trump’s Envoy to Israel Tells Abbas, Palestinians to “Stop Denying Jewish History’

26

Jason Greenblatt, who is President Donald Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East, told Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas to quit denying the true history of Jerusalem and its connection to the Jewish people.

Greenblatt made the comments in response to Abbas’s remarks at a youth festival about how the Arabs amd Christians are the rightful owners of Jerusalem — while conveniently omitting the Jews.

Jerusalem, of course, was established by God for his chosen Jewish people, according to biblical history. And failure to acknowledge that has fueled almost all the anti-Israel, anti-Jewish, anti-Semitic rhetoric and violence in recent years.

Here, Greenblatt visited with Hamas in January:

Israel Today has more on his response to Abbas:

As far as Israel is concerned, denial of the Jewish historical and religious connection to this land, and especially to Jerusalem, is the primarily roadblock to peace at present.

Finally, it would seem that the American government agrees.

US President Donald Trump’s special Middle East envoy, Jason Greenblatt, on Thursday blasted Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas for failing to mention that Jerusalem’s connection to the Jewish people.

On Tuesday, Abbas addressed a Palestinian youth festival and repeatedly told the young Arabs that Jerusalem is and always has been a city for Muslims and Christians. No mention of Jews.

According to Greenblatt, that kind of rhetoric only pushes peace further away.

“Pres. Abbas states about Jerusalem: ‘it is Arab, Muslim, and Christian.’ And makes no mention of any Jewish ties. Nothing peaceful or productive can come from statements like this,” Greenblatt wrote on Twitter.

“Lasting peace will not be achieved by denying Judaism’s thousands of years of ties to Jerusalem. Jerusalem is holy to Muslims, Christians, and Jews,” he added.

All of the Palestinian Authority’s most hard-line positions are based on the premise that the Jews have no right to be here.

Furthermore, Israel believes that a genuine, long-lasting peace can only be achievable if it’s built upon a foundation of truth and acceptance of documented historical fact.

The attacks on Jewish history, the Temple and so forth are direct attacks on the historicity of Jesus and as a Catholic I am deeply offended by this. It is as absurd and fantastical as holocaust denial.

I can’t understand the Church’s animosity toward Israel. How can anyone read the Bible, claim to be Christian and deny Israel and the prophecy regarding Jesus and the Jewish ties to the land? If you have the opportunity, check out the movie, Sister Rose’s Passion.

Virtually any map of the first century middle east will tell you that ancient Israel
and present day Israel were the same land. Actually first century Israel was
broken up into Galilee, Samaria, Judea and Idumaea but it was basically all
Israel. These people don’t think. They emote. They would have us all
believe that the Jews took this particular slice of land at random at the end
of World War 2. Anyone who knows anything about ancient history would
have to know is was their historic homeland.

Agree. Trump was initially fooled by Taqiya from Abbas – the jihadi fraud. but once he realised he was conned, boy was Trump furious as hell http://bit.ly/2rOmfyJ

That is when Trump realised how stupid it was to fund and support this jihadi scum.

Unfortunately instead of stopping all funding to them, Trump only reduced the funding.

You can not escape reading the Bible and seeing Jerusalem is special to God and it is the JEWISH CAPITAL! Tell me, what is the language of the Palestinians. What are their cultural attributes? The Palestinians have no claim to Jerusalem or Israel.

“Palestinians” have no claim to anything at all! The Palestinians are an entirely made-up and fabricated group invented in the late 1960’s by Arafat. The movement started by Arafat in the 60’s has retroactively managed to create out of thin air the world’s oldest civilization. Sure, there’s no real historical or archeological evidence of this Palestinian civilization, but why should history, science and archeology matter?

You imbecile telling me Arafat in 1960 magically dumped millions of unidentified Semitic looking people in the so called Palestine and now you want them magically disappear again. Most of the Palestinians have still some Israelites bloodlines because they never left. The Jews who came from Europe were mostly converts and white and resettled in Palestine and have 0 Israelites DNA. This came from some research done by the Jewish University in Israel. They also discovered that the Kurdish people and some Turks have the highest amount of Israelites DNA.

The European Jews were not converts and the Palestinians were never a unique civilization, they were simply Arabs no different from any other Arabs in the region, most of whom came in the years following WW1.

Has Trump completely DEFUNDED the Palestinians? If not why not?
I read we have been funding the Palestinian “refuges” since 1948. Isn’t that absurd?
BTW why don’t MUSLIM countries give money to them other than for bombs and arms?

The Arabs in Israel have been playing games with history for many decades. Start with “Palestinians”; as a child (in the 50s) I lived in Morocco and if you called any Arab a Palestinian they’d take great offense. To them Palestinian meant Jew. The propaganda wing of the Arabs in Israel took the name and formed the PLO in an attempt to influence history. The spin machine has been at full speed since…

palestinians are rather stupid, as they demonstrate constantly. Trying to deny or rewrite history will only make them look stupider, setting back any progress the think they might be making. The day they learn how to live in genuine peace with those who are not muslims, is the day they will start to achieve their goals.

Muslums only live in peace w/non-muslims when they don’t have sufficient power to persecute/oppress/enslave them.

I wouldn’t totally agree that the Palestinians are stupid; Arafat was actually quite clever in that he invented the Palestinians out of thin air and he and Abbas have managed to make billions of dollars out of the Palestinian lie. The Plai cause is Europe’s favorite and even the U.S. has thrown unimaginable amounts of money at it, and we still do.

The fight over Jerusalem is founded in Jew hatred and the quran and mainly perpetrated by Muslim jihadis. It not only has a basis in a book but in historical evidence as well, something that the “Palestinians” conveniently forget and omit.
