The Democratic mayor of California’s sanctuary city Oakland just sent out a tip-off to illegals about a looming Immigrant and Customs Enforcement raid that could soon come.
Libby Schaaf said she had learned of the raid “from multiple credible sources,” and that she felt compelled to protect her city’s residents — yes, the illegal ones.
What about the safety of the citizens who are legal?

Oh well. For Democrats, it’s illegals first, legals second. Apparently, illegals hold the most potential to vote Democrat.

Libby Schaaf, the Democratic mayor of Oakland, shared the warning — which she said she “learned from multiple credible sources” — in a press release on Saturday, “not to panic our residents but to protect them,” Fox 2 reported.
The mayor said she didn’t know further details of the ICE operation, but claimed she felt it was her “duty and moral obligation as Mayor to give those families fair warning when that threat appears imminent.”
The feds detained at least four people Sunday, a program manager for the San Francisco Immigrant Legal Education Network told the San Francisco Examiner, although the paper noted it was unclear if the detentions were related to any broader ICE operation.
Schaaf during a news conference on Sunday also said she told mayors of other Bay Area cities of the impending ICE sweep, SFGate reported.
Her tweet on Saturday aligned with previous reports that law enforcement officials in Northern California would not cooperate with ICE, and noted state law “prohibits business owners from assisting ICE agents in immigration enforcement and bars federal agents from accessing employee-only areas.”
Schaaf, who is seeking reelection, said in January that she’d be willing to go to jail to defend the city’s sanctuary city status, and has openly opposed the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration.
“It is no surprise that the bully in chief is continuing to try to intimidate our most vulnerable residents,” Schaaf said at the time. “We’re very clear that our values are to protect all of our residents regardless of where we come from. We want to protect families, not tear them apart.”
And California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, who’s running for governor, commended Schaaf’s public warning, telling SFGate: “We can and must protect immigrant families from Donald Trump’s mass deportations. I want to thank Mayor Schaaf for her courage and hope more local leaders will follow her lead.”
ICE told KGO-TV on Saturday that the bureau was unsure what Schaaf was referring to as “There are ICE operations every day.”

She needs to be arrested and charged with her illegal activities. Time we stop paying SS to all people in CA who receive it, time we end all federal welfare programs to the people of CA. When the people of CA remove these leftists from office who support and enact sanctuary policies, we will allow those funds to continue

She and other Mayors need to be immediately locked up. She is no better than a criminal lookout telling criminals the cops are coming. Her alleged ethical duty violates her legal duty. Sessions needs to send an officer there and put her in handcuffs.

Along with the next ICE operation in Oakland, the feds should take Ms Schaaf, just like she asked and charge her with obstructing legal operations. Or, they can take all the illegals over to her house to live on her front lawn.

Enough pussyfooting around, Mr. President. Send in the troops. It’s one thing for craven cowards to claim the right to stand down in the face of federal laws under the dubious defense of conscientious objection: it’s quite another thing entirely to compel citizens of the Republic to flout that federal authority under penalty of unconstitutional state laws.
Let the loyal counties form the New California they dream of, and give teeth to the demand that the others comply with this nation’s laws, or face the consequences.

Great post – allow me to expand on it.
The Feds silence is deafening. When Federal Regulations descend on Americans like an EF5 tornado, the State must either implement their own regulations in conformance with the Feds, or stand by while the Feds handle the job. The Left is ecstatic. And any attempt to save the victims from the ensuing damage is met with predictable, disingenuous ‘arguments’ against ‘deregulation.
This is true in Labor, Environment, Education, Transportation, Kidnapping – in every area ‘preempted’ by the Feds, and many that are not / should not be – except Immigration.
When it comes to Immigration where the Left wants radical and reckless Deregulation. But as I have posted – only for criminals and demographics likely to be Democrats. Anyone in the country likely to learn English, obtain citizenship, and get a job – such as a scientist or an engineer – nope. No, those folks can be deported. And if they’re actually refugees too, the Left has no problem shipping them back to the s-hole country they escaped from.
Trump does indeed need to stop pussyfooting around. Albeit I recognize that the GOPe(Left-lite) is at war against him as well as the Left, which makes his job difficult and limits his ability to use his pen and his phone. I know a few techniques he could use (b/c I’ve seen the Dem’s use them), but I doubt he is aware of them.

The apologists for illegal aliens say that they only take the jobs that legal residents refuse to do. If that is the case, then legal residents purchase firearms to take the job of citizen protection that the local law enforcement refuses to do.
