Harrison has issued a groveling apology, which you can read in its nauseating fullness at the end of this news article, but that isn’t enough. The local Muslims are planning protests and intend to keep up the pressure until he resigns. And what was his crime? He called for Islam not to be taught in public schools, just the way Christianity and Judaism and other religions aren’t. We have seen over the years many, many examples of Islam being taught as fact in American public schools. Why should Tom Harrison or anyone else have to apologize for standing against that? These are not Islamic schools. But if the Muslims who are howling now for Harrison’s resignation get their way in this country, they will be.

Tuesday night, a short video featuring school scenes and girls in hijabs with the words “Share if you think Trump should ban Islam in American schools” was shared by Plano City Councilman Tom Harrison’s Facebook page.
The video stayed on the page for most of the day Wednesday, even as Plano Mayor Harry LaRosiliere says he and the city manager tried to reach the councilman for an explanation.
“I waited to hopefully see some type of retraction that his account was hacked,” LaRosiliere said. “I’m not sure why that was there, but that didn’t happen.”
At a press conference Wednesday afternoon, LaRosiliere publicly called on Harrison to resign.
“Mr. Harrison’s position indicates that he is unfit to represent this richly diverse city. This conduct is inconsistent with the values of the city of Plano,” LaRosiliere said.
LaRosiliere said Harrison had not previously expressed any views about Islam to the mayor or during official city meetings.
Harrison was elected to the city council in 2015 for a four-year term. His Facebook page shows consistent posts about city business and his views on city issues.
NBC 5 tried to reach Harrison Wednesday afternoon by calling his city phone and emailing his city email account. A reporter left a voicemail on his mobile phone, a note on his door at home and sent him a Facebook message. NBC 5 reached his adult son by phone who said his dad was in doctors’ appointments and the message would be passed on.
Later Wednesday afternoon, the Facebook post was taken down, and by Wednesday evening Harrison posted an apology but did not address the mayor’s call for him to resign.
The video shared on Harrison’s page was from a Facebook group called “Joined Hands Across America for Trump.” The video doesn’t specify what is meant by banning Islam from schools, whether that means banning world religion lessons, prayer or Muslim students.
“I’m a mom, I’m a city of Plano resident, I’m also a Muslim, so the post kind of struck a chord in many ways for me,” said Suzanne, who declined to give her last name publicly.
She said a friend sent her a screenshot of the post early Wednesday morning. It upset her enough to begin emailing the city and then make the trip to city hall to hear directly from the mayor.
“When it comes to public servants voicing their opinions in the public sphere that can easily be accessed by everyone — children and adults alike — I think that bears with it some kind of responsibility,” Suzanne said.
Imam Omar Suleiman, of Faith Forward Dallas and an Irving resident, said the sharing of the video on Facebook is concerning coming from a public official.
“When an entire group of people are targeted either by a teacher or an elected official, then those people are unfit to educate or to lead,” Suleiman said. “I think that’s what the post is really all about.”
He says if Harrison does not resign, he expects the community will continue to look for political consequences for the post.
“We’re going to stage protests, we’re going to continue to mobilize to make sure that the councilman is replaced,” Suleiman said.
Nafis Pathan, of the Islamic Association of Collin County, says his community has been active with the city of Plano and that he was disappointed in Harrison but pleased with the mayor’s response.
“I hope the city councilman understands the consequences and accepts the demand from Mayor Harry [LaRosiliere],” Pathan said….
Harrison’s full apology follows:
“I want to sincerely apologize to the Plano Muslim Community for the unintentional hurt I caused by reposting something on my personal Facebook page that wrongfully implied I am anti-Muslim. My intent on inputting this on my personal Facebook page was to emphasize that Christianity is not the only religion being targeted for exclusion in our public school. It was not meant as a personal attack against the Islamic faith. As a Christian, it is my belief that all should be free to worship as they choose, but we live in a time where any practice of religious expression in public schools is rarely tolerated. My hope is that due to the rightful negative response to my post, that it will spark a renewed discussion about all religions and their place in our public schools. My other regret is that my personal action has reflected poorly on the City of Plano. My action was personal in nature, but I should have remembered this past Monday night’s Council discussion …. none of us are ever truly off duty. None of us are perfect, and we will all be judged one day by the highest authority. Until then, I ask for forgiveness within the community and acceptance of my sincere apology.”

They’re not just being enslaved under Sharia, but also under radical fringe Greenwich Village/San Francisco/Fire Island “values.” It is one thing to teach about it (with questions and debate being part of the curriculum), it is quite another to promote, glorify and make a sales pitch for it which is what is really being done. And California is the worst example.

But there is an equally important factor in its survival to date, which is that until the last decade or so, almost none of the “muslims” could read the book which they are revereing so hotly. Now that there are millions of free copies and translations and huge increases of literacy, the stupidity at the heart is laid bare, and notwithstanding all the “interpretation” squirming, as Yusef Hassan said, you have to be mentally ill to believe that that claptrap is from God. This information has got out for the first time and it isn’t going back in again. From now on, Islam relentlessly becomes more and more recognised as the biggest laughing-stock in history (notwithstanding the huge tragedy aspect). Islamic State was Islam’s last stand before the final retreat to nowhere. The abandonment by the Guardian of allowing comments on its pathetic Islam articles is symptomatic of this retreat to fortress Don’t-Think.

You can bet your sweet bippy that if he had spoken out against the homosexualization and even transgenderization of our schools, he would have actually been fired. But yes, any apology, especially in the face of an intractable enemy such as Islamists who seek to impose Sharia on the rest of us, is very much weakness.
How do you explain, other than schizophrenia and cognitive dissonance, the whole business of schools indoctrinating our children into Islam on the one hand, and on the other indoctrinating them into the LGBT lifestyle – and actively working to convert them to homosexuality and even transgenderism? It is so bad that in Maryland, there is now a proposal to allow children to be converted to transgenderism (in the name of “transitioning”) without the parents’ consent – in other words, with a Soviet-style secrecy and Mafia-style code of silence also on par with the most radical, subversive Communist political movements in history – all designed to protect the perpetrators of this insidious form of child abuse. And to usurp parents’ rights on top of it all. That is all tied in what fat-slob uber-leftist filmmaker Michael Moore openly called a crusade to “cleanse” America of “its white male privilege.” And should be seen as such.
It isn’t just that concerned citizens should fight with every last breath to kick out any and all Muslim Brotherhood fronts, affiliates, proxies and toadies from dictating school curriculum. They should do so with any group that is a front for the likes of NAMBLA. Any society that sacrifices its children in that way, in much the same fashion as European nations sacrificing their girls, has no future and is ultimately doomed.

It’s nothing more than a view of our current society. “Teachers” make students write and recite moslem crap, school field trips to mosques, hijab days, and the list goes on into the thousands. How many students, by class assignment, are made to recite anything from Buddhism, Judaism or Christianity. How many school field trips to temples or churches? Perhaps islam has some use for those who select it. But being indoctrinated from birth is not a selective choice: it’s brainwashing.Then being threatened with death for choosing another faith is not freedom: THAT IS ISLAMOPHOBIA! Your persistent warning against provocation is islamophobia.
Perhaps Trump can’t ban islam, but the American people don’t have to tolerate it and some of the barbaric behaviors contained in their “book”.
If you “choose” to follow that faith here in America, that “freedom” is provided by the US Constitution, and it excludes sharia.
I grow weary of your persistent provocation. Try peace. I know it does exist in islam as you share it with each frequently. You will find less rejection that way. Peace to you.

I read the uk msm media, and I regularly talk with random people in the uk. What people are actually thinking is sharply out of line from what you would assume from the media. In recent years the bbc have re-styled their output to appeal to saddo lonely people for whom the radio and tv are their only “friends” and consequently they loyally trust them to be telling the truth – and are thus the remaining gullible sector who still believe the real-fake news about the fake-“fake” news.
Part of this situation is that if A says X to B on the bus there’s usually no public record whereas if the bbc “news” were to say something then it would be there on the record in CAPITALS and heads would roll.
I suspect that the sudden end of the USSR (after a similar public/private disparity) gives an indication of how this current situation will end – and sooner than some think.

One possibility, is that non-citizens , to my knowledge, do not legally enjoy the Rights enumerated in our Constitution. The left,has been trying to circumvent the law by ‘in your face’ ignoring it. The break down in our law enforcement will be a major contributor to our demise as a nation. I suggest we hold our law enforcement folks, at all levels, feet to the fire. Maybe,perhaps a few counter demonstrations out side police stations, city council meetings, Sheriff Dept. buildings, etc. . It works for the left. Why not us ? I agree with you about “until more people are really annoyed”. One major problem we have is apathy. If we can overcome that, we have a very good chance. I got really angry in the 90`s about “Outcome Based Education”. I attended every sch. brd meeting.(the only parent there),Had dinner w/our Governor,met w/the head of our State Dept. of Education. Our local AEA hated me. I walked into the meet w/head of State Dept. of Ed. w/ 10,000 votes behind me. He didn`t care because he was appointed. I was in contact w/ parent groups all across the country. Mel&Norma Gabler of Texas supplied great info. We made a great stink,got atten. and the results were as a teachers manual said,” they will go away & we will do it anyway”. We as parent groups tried to play nice in the face of bullies,liars,and cheaters. It don`t work.However, we registered over 100 folks to vote who had never voted before. We, to-day are able to swing a county election, at least.

Yes I do, and I am totally against this cult. 1952 Immigration policy must be reinstated so we can legally purge this demonic faith. Say anything about them and their panties are in a wedge. Instead of worrying so much about the dreamers, lets do something about the dream killers. Maybe the Japanese roundup was a tragedy, but in this case it would be a solution. Maybe the round up of Japanese was not needed, but the actual fact is that it worked and we prevailed and every detainee has benefited along with the salvation of our country, our culture and our civilization. The stakes were too high to take chances. You were not on the firing line. But my father was. A naval carrier pilot in the South Pacific. Through incredible action and much loss of life, he prevailed. Too many next to him, and all around did not. I can not stand sniveling ankle biters who second guess from the safety that others gave their all for.

Nice to meet you. I agree w/the exceptions. I chose mine & it stuck w/ fellow employees, mostly due to a stupid bar ruckus, which I sincerely regret & owe some guys an apology if I ever see them again. The username began as a joke for a cb handle. It caused the ruckus,it got more than one started& I got so if I wanted a beer,I went to places where I knew no one,then I quit altogether. I never started it. Never. But I also never backed down,which if I`d been smart,I`d a got outta there. Except for one time, there was no way out. That time, I really regret. I was so stupid, I even enjoyed a good bar fight. Lord help me. 70`s & early 80`s. Dumb, wasted years.

It’s frustrating to see how ignorant so many people are about Islam – they never seem to research it when if they would it’s easily seen to be totally at odds with our Constitutional freedoms & values – essentially an enemy to them even historically. They buy without questioning the pleasant to believe false propaganda that Islam is just another peaceful religion worshiping the same loving God, and how awful that some nasty people would vilify it. The tendency to believe what is pleasant to believe is evidently much stronger in most than the tendency to question critically.
