WINNING: U.S. VETOES UN’s anti-Israel Jerusalem resolution

48

Earlier today, I warned of the UN  Council’s call to reverse Trump’s U.S. Jerusalem decision. The United Nations Security Council resolution sought to reverse U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

The draft, prepared by Egypt, does not refer to either the U.S. or to President Trump. It was circulated between the 15 members of the council and according to Reuters enjoys support, but the U.S., which wields veto power in the council, is likely to shoot it down.

The righteous President Trump to the rescue. US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley vetoed a UNSC resolution against any change in the status of Jerusalem.

Story continues below advertisement

It’s been a joyous and historic Hanukah for the “people of the book.”

It took eight long years but the good old days are back at the OIC driven, Israelphobic U.N. The US funds close to a quarter of their entire budget. That must end.

Nikki Haley vetoes Jerusalem resolution on behalf of Washington

The US has vetoed the Egyptian-drafted resolution that called for rescinding any change in Jerusalem’s current status. The resolution was drafted after US President Donald Trump’s recognition of the city as Israel’s capital. Before the vote, the Palestinians threatened to appeal to the UN General Assembly, where the US has no veto power, if the US vetoes the resolution.(JOL)

Here is the full text of Ambassador Haley’s remarks:

Following is the complete transcript of delivered remarks by U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley at the December 18, 2017 meeting of the UN Security Council.

Thank you, Mr. President. In this meeting, I will not use Council’s time to address where a sovereign nation might decide to put its embassy, and why we have every right to do so. I will address a more appropriate and urgent concern.

This week marks the one-year anniversary of the passage of Resolution 2334. On that day, in this Council, in December 2016, the United States elected to abstain, allowing the measure to pass. Now it’s one year and a new administration later. Given the chance to vote again on Resolution 2334, I can say with complete confidence that the United States would vote “no.” We would exercise our veto power. The reasons why are very relevant to the cause of peace in the Middle East.

On the surface, Resolution 2334 described Israeli settlements as impediments to peace. Reasonable people can disagree about that, and in fact, over the years the United States has expressed criticism of Israeli settlement policies many times.

But in truth, it was Resolution 2334 itself that was an impediment to peace. This Security Council put the negotiations between Israelis and the Palestinians further out of reach by injecting itself, yet again, in between the two parties to the conflict. By misplacing the blame for the failure of peace efforts squarely on the Israeli settlements, the resolution gave a pass to Palestinian leaders who for many years rejected one peace proposal after another. It also gave them encouragement to avoid negotiations in the future. It refused to acknowledge the legacy of failed negotiations unrelated to settlements. And the Council passed judgment on issues that must be decided in direct negotiations between the parties.

If the United Nations’ history in the peace efforts proves anything, it is that talking in New York cannot take the place of face-to-face negotiations between the regional parties. It only sets back the cause of peace, not advance it.

As if to make this very point, Resolution 2334 demanded a halt to all Israeli settlement activity in East Jerusalem – even in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City. This is something that no responsible person or country would ever expect Israel would do. And in this way, Resolution 2334 did what President Trump’s announcement on Jerusalem as the capital of Israel did not do: It prejudged issues that should be left in final status negotiations.

Given the chance today, the United States would veto Resolution 2334 for another reason. It gave new life to an ugly creation of the Human Rights Council: the database of companies operating in Jewish communities. This is an effort to create a blacklist, plain and simple. It is yet another obstacle to a negotiated peace. It is a stain on America’s conscience that we gave the so-called BDS movement momentum by allowing the passage of Resolution 2334.

To the United Nations’ shame, this has been a disproportionately hostile place for the Middle East’s most enduring democracy.

The United States refuses to accept the double standard that says we are not impartial when we stand by the will of the American people by moving our U.S. embassy, but somehow the United Nations is a neutral party when it consistently singles out Israel for condemnation.

For decades, Israel has withstood wave after wave of bias in the UN and its agencies. The United States has often stood beside Israel. We did not on December 23, 2016. We will not make that mistake again.

This week marks the one year anniversary of a significant setback for Middle East peace. But the United States has an undiminished commitment to helping bring about final status negotiations that will lead to lasting peace.

Our hand remains extended to both parties. We call on all countries that share this commitment to learn the hard lessons of the past and work to bring Israel and the Palestinian people in good faith to the peace table.

Definitely a wonderful win! However, the ultimate win would have been if Haley would have said then and there that as a result of the UN’s unacceptable actions, the United States, effective immediately, will withdraw ALL funding of the UN in its entirety!

Good old Antisemitism (Western left / progressives, traditional European, most of the 3rd world and ALL of the Muslim world…), global scale corruption (petrodollars galore flowing generously to all pro-Muslims / Antisemites) and political expediency (growing Muslim constituencies in the west that have become a vital component for any election of a mainstream candidate)

The reason why the UN is so anti-Israel, is a combination of all of the above

And, the petrifying fear in European capitals, of full blown Muslim riots (Car burning / property thrashing / Rape rampages etc, preferred, enraged Muslim activities…) like seen in France / Belgium / Sweden / Germany

“Why is the UN so anti-Israel?”
1.)Judeo-phobia and racism

2.)A liberal academic and journalist community that is in denial about the racism in the Muslim community.

3.)A false sense of Neutrality based on a lack of information about the Palestinians’ racist educational system and a lack of information about the history of Israel.

Ambassador Haley is a Saint!!

She claimed early on that she is only stating the obvious truth re Israel vs. the UN in the mere effort to be fair… And yet she is literally shoving almost 70 years of hateful, anti Israeli / Antisemitic UN hostility out the window and in the faces of the the European so called “friends of Israel”… This tenacious resolve to stand by Israel, is far from trivial in this day and age

At last, the UN Antisemites have a mirror in front of them and a new realization that the days of Antisemitic bullying / deriding of Israel in the snake pits of the UN, are over and that Trump / Pence / Haley, STAND with their valued allies!

If I were Israel I would incrementally ratchet down any Counter terror (intelligence / technology / cyber) cooperation with European nations that voted against Israel (France, UfcnK…) today

let these anti western, traitor countries (Theresa May is a colossal disappointment, a pure vanilla “conservative” [CINO], if I ever saw one), taste some more of the Muslim “delights” they seem to cherish so much…

Jews from France, the UK, Belgium, Sweden, Italy and Germany (all “progressive” hot beds for breeding rabid Muslim / Leftist Antisemitism and terror) must seriously consider leaving Europe to safer more tolerant destinations (Israel, the US, AUS/NZ)

This Haley woman is just a great rep for this country. She speaks to the reality of these times and she states clearly the bias and prejudice of the U.N. We now have a President and an administration which fully understands that the U.N. is Arab controlled to a fault. Though she is correct that the negotiations must be left to the Israeli government and the Arab representatives, the underlying problems may be unresolvable unless the Arabs withdraw their claim that Israel is an occupier and that it is in both of their best interests to guarantee defensible borders. Right now I don’t see those conclusions available to the parties. The reality is easily seen and both sides must learn to accept that reality before any negotiated settlement is reachable.

While the United States vetoed it (and properly so), all 15 other members of that Council (make them live in infamy forever) voted for that resolution. While names of permanent members are well known, let me remind you what countries currently “serve” as temporary (shuttling) members: Bolivia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Senegal, Sweden, Ukraine, and Uruguay. While I am not surprised with members of the OIC lobby between Mohammedan countries, such countries like Italy, Japan and Ukraine which owe their very existence to the United States (were liberated by American action) should at lest show more “oil” in their heads and act more like allies than outright enemies! Let it be remembered who they are!

What’s incredible is that Nikki Haley and Trump didn’t like each other during the election.
Trump looked past all that; and hired her based on her record on Israel (She approved the toughest Anti-BDS laws when she was Governor).

If other Republicans like McCain and Jeff Flake would just give Trump a chance, he would take them to heights they’ve never seen before; and help them leave their mark on history!

OIC are jihadi Anti-semite scumbag who do not practice even basic tenets of equality, religious right, women’s right but after buying out countries and bureaucrats are now running UN and rights panel !

At least Trump not easily fooled unlike all the previous Presidents , bureaucrats , policy “wonks” nutjobs.

Recently Trump got conned by Al-taqiya from Abbas but once he learnt the truth, boy was he furious as hell http://bit.ly/2rOmfyJ

He does not mince words unlike previous spineless Presidents.

Nikki Haley vetoed the resolution not because she wants to, but because Donald Trump forced her to

You can see her reluctance from her own speech. she included the following..

“… over the years the United States has expressed criticism of Israeli settlement policies many times …”

Nikki Haley doesn’t want to veto the resolution. Nikki Haley is an anti-Israel activist

Something

would have never done.
O’Bama the POS
sought nothing less than the destruction of the
USA and Israel.
Shows how stupid O’Bama and the moslem hoard are
It is clearly stated that Israel will never cease to exist
Ditto the USA as long as it supports Israel
and never again succumbs to a pig like

Even the freaking ‘ libtard progressives” can’t object to the logic of this.
