Leftist activist Linda Sarsour is openly pro-Sharia, and so it should come as no surprise that her response to recent charges that she downplayed and dismissed charges sexual assault at the Arab American Association while she was its executive director has been down the line with Sharia principles. That fact should raise eyebrows among American feminists who have elevated Sarsour to the level of a heroine of feminism, but, of course, it won’t.
BuzzFeed, true to form, has given Sarsour a platform to rebut the charges, and her response was what anyone who has been paying attention to this woman’s career of victimhood posturing would expect it to be: it’s all, she says, another right-wing conspiracy against her: “Anti-Semitic, terrorist sympathizer, supporter of female genital mutilation — every week they come up with some new stuff about me,” she whines. But she decided to respond, she said, because Donald Trump, Jr. wrote about the allegations: “But when the president’s son is tweeting about me, that’s serious stuff.”
The facts are these: Asmi Fathelbab, a former employee of Sarsour at the Arab American Association, has accused her of refusing to take seriously her claims of sexual assault and harassment, and of following through on threats to destroy Fathelbab’s attempts to get a job if she didn’t retract the charges.

According to Fathelbab, Sarsour “oversaw an environment unsafe and abusive to women. Women who put [Sarsour] on a pedestal for women’s rights and empowerment deserve to know how she really treats us.” Fathelbab charges Majed Seif, a Muslim who lived in the building that also housed the Arab American Association’s offices, “would sneak up on me during times when no one was around, he would touch me, you could hear me scream at the top of my lungs. He would pin me against the wall and rub his crotch on me. It was disgusting. I ran the youth program in the building and with that comes bending down and talking to small children. You have no idea what it was like to stand up and feel that behind you. I couldn’t scream because I didn’t want to scare the child in front of me. It left me shaking.”
But Sarsour had no interest in, or patience for, Fathelbab’s allegations. “She called me a liar because ‘Something like this didn’t happen to women who looked like me. How dare I interrupt her TV news interview in the other room with my ‘lies.’…She told me he had the right to sue me for false claims…. She told me I’d never work in NYC ever again for as long as she lived. She’s kept her word. She had me fired from other jobs when she found out where I worked. She has kept me from obtaining any sort of steady employment for almost a decade.”
In response to all this, BuzzFeed says Sarsour was “dumbfounded” by the allegations, and produced an affidavit about Fathelbab’s charges, dated August 13, 2009. In it, says BuzzFeed, “Sarsour defended Seif in the statement and wrote that it was Fathelbab who was creating a hostile environment by telling coworkers stories of alleged harassment. Sarsour told ACCESS she’d looked into the claims and found ‘no substantial evidence or any testimonies from anyone about the alleged accusations.’” Nonetheless, just to be careful, she told Seif to stay away from Fathelbab. She also said, self-contradictorily, that Fathelbab’s claims in 2017 are different from her claims in 2009: “The exact words were, ‘He makes me feel uncomfortable.’ There was nothing about touching or groping. There’s no evidence, no email she can pull out where she ever gave those claims to us.” BuzzFeed also has Sarsour strongly denying that she told Fathelbab that she wasn’t the type of woman who would be sexually harassed.
BuzzFeed then goes on to quote male Arab American Association staffers who back up Sarsour’s version of events. BuzzFeed reporters Hannah Allam and Talal Ansari don’t challenge her on why she conducted an investigation into Fathelbab’s charges at all if all those charges consisted of was “he makes me feel uncomfortable.” If Fathelbab had really said “nothing about touching or groping,” why was there any need for an investigation at all? Nor does BuzzFeed, which is, of course, a reliable Leftist propaganda organ, not a news source, challenge Sarsour about Fathelbab’s claims that she made sure Fathelbab would not be able to get another job. Those allegations go unanswered.
All this is in full accord with Sharia. In cases of sexual misbehavior (zina), only men can testify. Women can’t testify at all, even in cases in which they were involved, and four male witnesses are required (Reliance of the Traveller, o24.9). So Sarsour, if her account of her investigation is to be believed, took the word of Seif and the male staffers who said nothing happened over that of Fathelbab.
So it is in Sharia states with all allegations of zina. If men are accused, as long as they deny the charge and there aren’t four witnesses, they will get off scot-free, because the woman’s testimony is inadmissible. And if a woman accuses a man, she may end up incriminating herself, and she must be punished, as Asmi Fathelbab was by the ruining of her career.
And so BuzzFeed assures us that this entire controversy is another “Islamophobic,” “racist” conspiracy designed to bring down a proud, hijab-wearing “Palestinian” Muslima. For the Left, that is enough. For genuine seekers of justice, it should not be. But will there be any investigation of Linda Sarsour over this? Not in Bill de Blasio’s New York.

Donald Trump Jr. tweeting about Linda and CAIR may be the way to bring these issues to the light.
News paper websites and blogs are only 2nd TIER, because no one reads. TV is still where the busy folks get their news.

If I am not mistaken, the victim has been interviewed on Fox News. On the twentieth of this month, Martha MacCallum interviewed her for around four minutes. Not exactly a great deal of time devoted, but some, nonetheless.

It will be an uphill fight because of the way sharia is written, but, if she can get the case heard in a legitimate court, there may be some chance for the truth to come out.

It would be interesting to see the women take a full questioning under polygraph, then ask Sarsour to take one too. Then watch her eyeballs rotate in their sockets, when she refuses to take the test.

Linda is dangerous and your anti left, hateful rhetoric does not serve the purpose you want to serve. Stop being like her and pointing fingers in anger and accusations. You will not get the attention of those on the left who need to hear your voice, need to look at this and other situations with open eyes and open hearts. Your hatred of the left and left wing politicians is as biased and racist and ignorant as her tactics. Though a Hindu myself, I consider Jesus divine. Hence, Merry Christmas!
However, it’s really tough not to be disheartened by this colossal jihad that’s going on. I try to spread awareness among friends and relatives about this. A few listen, even subscribe to the Geller Report. But the majority of the people either scoff at it, or sweep it aside as paranoia. Some unleash anger on me for speaking up about this. I even lost a friendship of 22 years on this account (this friend became deeply offended by my criticism of islam, though I have never known him to be an admirer of islam.) Another friend of mine, a very devout Christian, does not believe that this jihad is anything serious. “God is in control”, he says. “Don’t worry. He knows what He is doing”. While I don’t disrespect this view, I can’t help thinking that civilizations have nearly been wiped out by islam under the Ottomans and other such rabid, monstrous hordes. So, is God in charge of it all? Perhaps He is, and this fits into His grand plans that we cannot fathom…

Yes, well said – about true prophets. I will check out the book you have recommended, thank you. I’m also reading the New Testament gifted to me by my friend. What sane person can not relate immediately to things like Sermon On The Mount? Who can argue with concepts like these, truth and love? Even muslims, if only they are not continually brainwashed. So, if I got this right, if Sarsewer herself was raped,groped,whatever(only a guy into bestiality) & the guy denied it & she didn`t have witnesses, she could or should be punished herself. Soooo, what if a bunch of guys accused her of “flashing” other guys, at random, strangers, etc. does sharia law cover that ? If she had several accusers saying she flashed her naked butt at them ? I had a nightmare about it, does that count as her sexually harassing me ? There might be a case for a class action suit against her. Under Sharia law, she can be killed,raped, beaten, simply because of my nightmare. eeewwwww. That butt ugly poor excuse for a female makes me cringe in disgust.

Ok, here are some of the basics of sharia, pay particular attention to those pertaining to women.
• A Muslim will not be subject to retaliation (prosecution) if he kills an apostate, since it is someone who deserves to die.
• Parents and grandparents will not be prosecuted for killing their offspring or offspring’s offspring. This law is significant to getting those who honor kill off the hook.
• A Muslim will not be executed for killing a kaffir (non-Muslim).
• It is obligatory for a Muslim to lie if the purpose is obligatory, such as fulfilling Allah’s commandments of jihad.
• Slander and exaggeration is allowed if the purpose is lawful. No guilt or shame should be associated with slander of the perceived enemy, and if it is for protecting Islam and for the benefit of Muslims.
• Sharia has no respect for sovereignty of other nations and non-Muslims, because of the doctrine of jihad, defined as “to war against non-Muslims to establish the religion.”
• It is a capital (enormity) crime for any Muslim who chooses to “Not perform jihad or flee from combat with (kaffir) unbelievers.”
• It is the duty of every Muslim head of state (Caliph) to wage jihadist wars against non-Muslim nations, especially neighboring ones. Muslim Caliphs who refuse jihad are in violation of Sharia and unfit to rule.
• A Caliph could hold office through seizure of power meaning through force.
• A Caliph is immune (Maasum), exempt, from charges of murder, adultery, robbery, theft, drinking, and in some cases of rape.
• A manmade government (legal system), such as democracy, is an abomination and must be eliminated.
• A percentage of Zakat (alms) must go towards jihad.
• It is obligatory to obey the commands of the Caliph even if he is unjust.
• A caliph must be Muslim, not a slave, and male.
• The Muslim public must remove the Caliph if he rejects Islam or refuses to rule by Sharia.
• A non-Muslim cannot inherit from a Muslim.
• No testimony in court is acceptable from people of low-level jobs, such as street sweepers or bathhouse attendants. Women in low-level jobs are not awarded custody of children in case of divorce.
• A non-Muslim cannot rule, even over a non-Muslim minority.
• Homosexuality is punishable by death.
• Women are forbidden from becoming president or judge.
• There is no age limit for marriage of girls. The marriage contract at any age after birth and consummation of marriage at age 8 or 9.
• A husband has the right to beat his wife and does not have to say why to her family or police.
• Rebelliousness on the part of the wife nullifies the husband’s obligation to support her, gives him permission to beat her and keep her from leaving the home.
• Divorce is only in the hands of the husband and is as easy as saying: “I divorce you,” and is effective even if the husband says he did not intend it.
• A wife has no right to divorce her husband, even if he is polygamous, with additional wives.
• A man is allowed to have sex with slave women and women captured in battle, and if the enslaved woman is married, her marriage is annulled.
• There is no community property between a husband and his wife/wives.
• A woman inherits half what a man inherits.
• Parents have the legal right to perform female genital mutilation on minor daughters.
• A man must pay the woman dowry to be given in exchange for his right to her sexual organs.
• A rapist may only be required to pay money (dowry) without marrying the rape victim.
• A man is allowed to have sex with slave women and women captured in battle, and if the enslaved woman is married her marriage is annulled.
• A woman’s testimony in court is half the value of a man.
• A woman loses custody of her children if she remarries.
• To prove rape a woman must have four male witnesses.
• A woman must cover every inch of her body, which is considered awrah (a sexual organ). Exposing face is allowed by most, but not all Sharia schools.
• A Muslim man will not be prosecuted if he kills his wife if caught in the act of adultery. However, the opposite is not true since husband “could be married to the woman he was caught with.” Thus loyalty is only expected from wife, and not the husband.
• Free speech is unprotected and harshly punished if it involves any criticism of Muhammad, Islam or Sharia itself. Both Muslim and non-Muslim critics of Muhammad will be executed even if they repent.
• The banking system must be Sharia-compliant.
• A government must rule by Sharia and a Muslim head of state.
All of the above laws (except number 8, which is not Shafi’i) are mainstream Sharia.
