“People flying everywhere”: Car mows down pedestrians outside Melbourne’s Flinders Street station

56

Melbourne is in chaos after at least 16 people, including a child, were rammed by a car outside Flinders St station. Police are continuing to swarm the area, and Flinders Street had been cleared and locked down. Counter-terrorism officers are among them, Sky News reported.

There are also reports that an officer on the scene described the incident as “terrorism.”

There were “bodies everywhere” and lots of people trying to help.

Christmas time at Flinders Street railway station – it serves the entire metropolitan rail network.

Before Federation Square took the honours, Flinders Street Station was Melbourne’s favourite meeting place, hence the catchphrase ‘meet me under the clocks’. Flinders Street Station is Australia’s oldest train station, and with its distinctive yellow facade and green copper dome it’s a city icon.

Flinders Street is the busiest suburban railway station in the southern hemisphere, with over 1500 trains and 110,000 commuters passing through each day. (more here)

“I’ve lost count how many coppers and ambos have come past now. Standing the tram stop out front of GPO.”

Reddit user TheElderGodsSmile added: “Sister in law said … he knocked them over like skittles. Bloody awful.”

Fright_ posted: “Saw grown men and women crying on Platform 1 of Flinders St station. Overheard phone conversation mentioning car hitting people. Seems like I got there a few miss after it happened. Elizabeth St entrance to Flinders is closed. That big intersection being blocked off by police about 15 miss ago. Heaps of emergency services there now.”

Witnesses claim that a white SUV showed no signs of slowing down as it mowed down a number of people at the busy intersection at rush hour.

There are also reports that an officer on the scene described the incident as “terrorism” – but this has not been officially confirmed by authorities.

A witness at the scene said she heard screams before she saw “people flying everywhere”.

She added: “We could hear this noise, as we looked left, we saw this white car, it just mowed everybody down.

“People are flying everywhere. We heard thump, thump. People are running everywhere.”

Footage of the scene shows crowds of people scattered around the white SUV.

Victoria Police are currently at the scene on Flinders Street between Elizabeth Street and Swanston Street.

A police spokesman said on Twitter: “Police are currently attending an incident on Flinders Street between Elizabeth and Swanston streets where a vehicle has collided with a number of pedestrians.

“Police have arrested the driver of the car.”

Earlier a statement by Victoria Ambulance said paramedics are assessing 12 people at the scene of the incident.

Distressed by the Muslims’ trouble-making and killing sprees, civilized nations are bending over backward in the hope of placating them and helping them join the family of humanity by admitting hordes of immigrants and affording them all manner of hospitality and assistance. All seems to no avail. Many of the new arrivals, deeply infected by the Islamic ethos, find it impossible to assimilate in the host countries. Instead, they strive to impose their defunct order that is the cause of their backwardness and inhumanity on the host people.

not terror related, the government said. one of the suspects is just an afghan with mental issues. the other suspect had a bag of knifes but it seems he was just passing by. it has nothing to do with islam nor the mosque they attend. westerners must learn to coexist with muslims now. curb your islamophobia, the government is monitoring the internet. anyway don’t provoke muslims if you know what’s good for you

Hi, David. I really wouldn’t call Singapore a moslem city state. With Buddhists comprising over a third of the population and Christians making up around 20% … moslems are under 14%. Yes, 14% is FAR too high .. but it really doesn’t make Singapore moslem

Australia was pretty big on firearm confiscation, after one incident, where the firearm was actually stolen from the government. Don’t you think that, for the good of that nation, that the Australian government should confiscate all automobiles, trucks, and the like? This has been going on far too long. We need common sense moving vehicle legislation and we need it NOW.

The victims and police better get it thru their heads. It ain`t terrorism until “authorities” say so. Why ? Why are politicians so stupid ? Then they attempt to transfer THEIR stupidity onto us. Sadly some of us accept it. I`ve only a few friends ‘down under’ , and I still can`t understand why the Aussies tolerate such leadership that has left them defenseless.

Hello, turkeychoker. People need to get it through their heads that it is not “radical Islamic terrorism” or “Islamic terrorism” as it is nothing of the sort. It is just moslems bein’ moslems. They are ALL the same.

Sadly we don’t have any leadership in this country worth voting for – empty vessels apart from Gigantic Egos. The frustration for any thinking person is enormous, we are, at the moment, destined to watch this once beautiful country disintegrate. The PM is busy though, shuffling the deck chairs as we sink.

I grew up in the Allegheny foothills in Pa. about a 1/2 hr. drive from the mnt.`s. Lots of old sayings like that around when I was a kid. I remember my dad telling someone “we`d be there if the board across the creek didn`t wash out”. I was young enough, I took him seriously. We had grass growing down the center of the gravel road we lived on. Cliffs, creeks, hills. You jogged a few memories. There was a rather dim view of politicians in general. My relatives were an independent, hard working bunch. We never asked for help from government. I remember one of my uncles laughing and we all joined in, when he read an article about some midwest farmer getting paid by gov. not to raise hogs, back in the 50`s. It was about the time genetically modified seed came in. I remember asking why we couldn`t save corn to plan for next yr. “well, we used too,but can`t anymore”. I didn`t think much of that kind of progress then&still don`t. Sorry, I ramble.

What was developed, in the fifties, was hybrid, not GMA. Basically a simple detassling and the like … and it improved yields dramatically. If you took the old heirloom seed, you’d get around fifty to sixty bushels per acre of corn. With hybrid, it wasn’t uncommon to get 120-150 bpa. At that time, corn was around a buck a bushel.

You`re right. I was about 10 or 11 at the time. I remember the family talking about 60 bush/ . Then it jumped to around 80. The corn wasn`t sold. It was ground &mixed at the feed mill. My cousin & I rode the picker & kept the burlap sacks , when near full tied w/millers knot & replaced w/ empty sack.A neighbor had a 2 row picker. What fun.We rode on a platform with a chute for sacks to slide to grond. He had that picker mounted on his old Deere. A ‘B’, I think. We kids liked that old put-put.

We had a one row picker, but it fed into a wagon. Then, an elevator, hooked to an old F-20 (belt, not pto). Then, into the corn cribs. We were fortunate to average around 140+ bushels per acre. As hybrids improved, there were years when we were pushing 200 bpa. We ground most of our corn to feed our cattle, but, some years we would have a full crib .. that was when you called the elevator, for the sheller … and your neighbors .. and it was off to town, as opposed to being “walked to town” (livestock). Shelling day, whether on our farm or neighbors, I recall as being one of the best days of the year.

This is good. From this link

A white SUV collided with pedestrians…

That is the kind of thing R.Limbaugh used mention: It’s as though the SUV, the machine without a driver, had committed the crime.

The footage at another link shows a non-white car. (Baby-poop green.)

One of the talking heads said two were injured, one being killed. There were no accounts of “people flying everywhere.”

No name of the arrested “suspect(s)”? Still, no release of the name of the driver of the vehicle that “allegedly” rammed the entry gate at the RAF base, in the UK. Another day, another no name brake failure. They really need to make semi-annual safety inspections, of vehicles, mandatory … FAR too many brake failures.

Naturally the dhimmi cops will be looking for any diversion from reality that they can. Like a person can’t have many problems and still be a Jihadist. The moron cops don’t understand that all a muslim’s transgressions will be forgiven and a place guaranteed in heaven if he fights in the way of Allah.
