How Many Muslims in Europe? Pew’s Projections Fall Short

It remains unclear why Pew failed to mention the UCIDE report in its source appendix.
- In Germany, Pew “decided not to count” the one million plus Muslim asylum seekers who arrived in the country in 2015/2016 because “they are not expected to receive refugee status.”
- The Pew report entirely ignores the key issue of how Europe will integrate tens of millions of Muslim migrants whose values — including anti-Semitism, polygamy, female genital mutilation and honor violence — cannot be reconciled with those of Europe’s Judeo-Christian and liberal-democratic heritage.
Europe’s Muslim population is set to double — and possibly triple — between now and 2050, according to new projections by the Pew Research Center.
The projections, contained in a report, “Europe’s Growing Muslim Population,” confirm what has long been common knowledge: decades of declining European birthrates, coupled with mass migration from the Muslim world, are fast-tracking the Islamization of Europe.
The demographic calamity facing Europe, however, is even worse than the Pew report lets on. A critical analysis of the data shows that Pew’s calculations of the current Muslim population in key European countries are partial and incomplete — and in some instances inaccurate. As a result, Pew’s baseline estimate of the number of Muslims currently in Europe — the estimate upon which its future projections are calculated — has been undercounted by at least five million Muslims, whose presence in Europe will significantly increase the future size of the continent’s Muslim population.
The Pew report offers three projections based on three different scenarios involving migration during the next three decades. The baseline for all three scenarios is the Muslim population in Europe (defined by Pew as the 28 countries presently in the European Union, plus Norway and Switzerland), estimated at 25.8 million (4.9% of the overall population) as of mid-2016 — up from 19.5 million (3.8%) in 2010.
The first scenario envisions a complete halt to Muslim immigration between now and 2050. This scenario will not occur, of course, but was modeled to determine what the future might look like with migration removed from the equation.
In this scenario, Europe’s Muslim population is projected to increase by about 10 million people, from an estimated 25.8 million Muslims in 2016 to 35.8 million in 2050. In percentage terms, the Muslim population would rise from about 5% of Europe’s overall population today to 7.4% at midcentury — not only because Muslims are growing in absolute numbers, but because the non-Muslim population in Europe is expected to decline by roughly 10%.
A second, “medium” migration scenario assumes that all refugee flows will stop as of mid-2016 but that recent levels of “regular” migration to Europe will continue (that is, migration of those who come for reasons other than seeking asylum). This is the scenario most likely to occur, according to Pew. Under these conditions, the number of Muslims in Europe could reach 57.9 million, or 11.2% of Europe’s population in 2050.
Finally, a “high” migration scenario projects the record flow of refugees into Europe between 2014 and 2016 to continue indefinitely into the future with the same religious composition — namely Islamic — in addition to the typical annual flow of regular migrants. In this scenario, the number of Muslims could reach 75.6 million, or 14% of Europe’s population by 2050 — nearly triple the current share.
The impact of these scenarios on different European countries is astounding: Under the high-migration scenario, for instance, the Muslim population of Sweden — a formerly homogeneous Christian country — would reach nearly one-third (30.6%) of the overall population by 2050, followed by Cyprus (28.3%), Austria (19.9%), Germany (19.7%), Belgium (18.2%), France (18%), Norway (17%), Britain (16.7%), Denmark (16%), Netherlands (15.2%), Finland (15%) and Italy (14.1%).
The raw numbers are equally jarring:
- In Germany, the Muslim population would increase from 4,950,000 (6%) today to 17,490,000 (around 20%) by 2050 in the high scenario, compared to 11% in the medium scenario and 9% with no further Muslim migration.
- In France, the Muslim population would increase from 5,720,000 (8.8%) today to 13,210,000 (18%) by 2050 in the high scenario, compared with 17.4% in the medium scenario and 12.7% with no further Muslim migration.
- In Britain, the Muslim population would increase from 4,130,000 (6.3%) today to 13,480,000 (17.2%) in the high scenario, compared to 6.7% in the medium scenario and 9.7% with no further Muslim migration.
- In Belgium, the Muslim population would increase from 870,000 (7.6%) today to 2,580,000 (18.2%) in the high scenario, compared to 15.1% in the medium scenario and 11.1% with no further Muslim migration.
The report’s authors acknowledge that no one can know today what Europe’s Muslim population of Europe will be in 2050, but they claim to know, more or less, the size of Europe’s Muslim population today. In this aspect, some of Pew’s calculations — which are said to be based on “analysis and projections of the best available census and survey data in each country combined with data on immigration from Eurostat and other sources” — fall short.
In Spain, for instance, Pew estimates the current Muslim population at 1,180,000 or 2.6% of the overall population. The Union of Islamic Communities in Spain (Unión de Comunidades Islámicas de España, UCIDE), however, estimates that Spain’s Muslim population at the end of 2016 was 1,919,141, or 4.1% of the overall population.

The different estimates of the Muslim population in Spain today yield significantly different projections of Spain’s Muslim population in 2050. According to Pew, Spain’s Muslim population would increase from 1,180,000 (2.6%) today to 2,810,000 (7.2%) by 2050 in the high scenario, compared to 2,660,000 (6.8%) in the medium scenario and 1,880,000 (4.2%) with no further Muslim migration.
Applying Pew’s projections to UCIDE’s data, however, Spain’s Muslim population would increase from 1,919,141 (4.1%) today to 4,570,242 (11.7%) by 2050 in the high scenario, compared to 4,326,128 (11%) in the medium scenario and 3,057,575 (6.9%) with no further Muslim migration.
In other words, the roughly 750,000 additional Muslims estimated by UCIDE in 2016 would — in the high scenario — yield around 1.8 million more Muslims in Spain by 2050 than projected by Pew.
In Austria, Pew estimates the current Muslim population at 600,000, or 6.9% of the overall population. However, the Austrian Integration Fund (Österreichische Integrationsfonds, ÖIF), an agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, estimatesAustria’s Muslim population at 700,000, or 7.9%. The difference of 100,000 Muslims, seemingly insignificant, will — in the high scenario — yield 350,000 more Muslims in Austria by 2050 than projected by Pew. In percentage terms, Austria’s Muslim population would be nearly 25% according to the ÖIF, compared to 19.9% according to Pew.
In France, Pew estimates the current Muslim population at 5,720,000, but it admits that “France hasn’t measured religion in a nationwide census since 1872.” Nevertheless, Pew assures readers that “it is nonetheless still possible to measure religious identity and practice in France.”
No one, in fact, knows the exact number of Muslims in France. What is known, however, is that millions of Muslims in France are permanently hidden from the official statistics. French analyst Yves Mamou explains:
“This figure [six million] does even not take into consideration the Muslim population that immigrated to France from North Africa in the 1960s and early 1970s. There are a few million of them — nobody knows how many exactly. They became French very early, and for demographers, their grandchildren and great-grandchildren are not regarded as immigrants anymore. These Muslims are, rather, integrated into statistics as French citizens born of French parents. They are Muslim, but under the statistics radar.”

In Germany, Pew “decided not to count” the one million plus Muslim asylum seekers who arrived in the country in 2015/2016 because “they are not expected to receive refugee status.” Pew assumes they will either return to their countries of origin or be deported, even though Germany is notoriously lax in deporting illegal migrants. In fact, tens of thousands of migrants, including many convicted criminals, have been allowed to continue to live in Germany, often for decades, after receiving deportation orders.
Moreover, German authorities have admitted to losing track of potentially hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants, many of whom are believed to be sustaining themselves on a steady diet of drug dealing, pickpocketing, purse snatching and other forms of petty crime, and who are responsible for the across-the-board increase of lawlessness on German streets.
Pew’s analysis of the number of asylum seekers in Europe is highly confusing and virtually unintelligible to the lay reader. Much of the problem lies in the fact that the statistics compiled by European governments are incomplete and often contradictory. This confusion is compounded by nuances in how to define different categories of migrants, including regular migrants entering legally as workers and students, asylum seekers and refugees, as well as illegal migrants posing as refugees. Still, Pew’s failure to provide clarity is exemplified in the following paragraph:
“Between the beginning of 2014 and mid-2016 – a stretch of only two and a half years – roughly three times as many refugees (1.2 million, or about 490,000 annually) came to Europe, as conflicts in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan continued or intensified. (These figures do not include an additional 970,000 Muslim asylum seekers and 680,000 non-Muslim asylum seekers who arrived between mid-2010 and mid-2016 but are not projected to receive legal status in Europe.)”
Pew admits that “we may be erring on the side of being too conservative in our overall estimates, because if significant numbers of those in legal limbo remain in Europe, their presence will have ripple effects increasing the future size of the continent’s Muslim population.”
More importantly, the Pew report downplays the societal effects of mass migration from the Muslim world by stressing that even if the Muslim population in Europe triples by 2050, it “will still considerably smaller than the populations of both Christians and people with no religion in Europe.” The report entirely ignores the key issue of how Europe will integrate tens of millions of Muslim migrants whose values — including anti-Semitism, polygamy, female genital mutilation and honor violence — cannot be reconciled with those of Europe’s Judeo-Christian and liberal-democratic heritage.

Because of mass muslim immigration and the muslim birth rate, unless something drastic is done, Britain will have a muslim majority within two generations. Two generations ago, there were a few thousand muslims in Britain, probably one hundred mosques and no sharia courts. Now, fast forward two generations and there are three and a half million muslims, 2000 mosques and 100 sharia courts. What could possibly go wrong ?.

There are quite a few factors into the decline of native birthrates that have combined with rising Muslim immigration (and their high birthrates) to create this coming apocalypse. One is the culture of abortion on demand and artificial birth control, and women not having children as a “lifestyle choice.” Another has been the leftist elites’ drive to further the spread of homosexuality and even transgenderism to the point where LGBT “leadership” has become outright supremacist in their own aims, even dictating what pronouns to use and rearranging all cultural and social norms to suit them entirely – and using this to erode the rights of the larger society, in a parallel to the erosion of our rights to appease Muslim supremacists. Such a lifestyle does not produce children naturally, and thus has been another factor in the declining native birthrates. Furthermore, given Islam’s teachings on homosexuality, this promotion by the Left in the West is playing with fire, coming as it does simultaneous to these same elites’ flooding their countries with Muslims. Remember Orlando?
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: A government that can force men into women’s bathrooms, showers and locker rooms (in total appeasement of those demanding “transgender rights”) can also force thousands of Muslims onto an entire community without so much as advance notice or consultation, and forget community input – just “You’ll take in these migrants/refugees, or else.” A government that can sanction states seeking to protect women and children from sexual predators (as in North Carolina under prior Governor Pat McCrory during Obama’s regime) can also do as the EU did in putting a gun to the heads of Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic to force them to take in Muslims or face economic sanctions or usurpation of their decision-making power (that, and bludgeon states and localities to allow the building of megamosques in residential areas in clear, direct and blatant violation of local zoning laws). A government that can bankrupt and force out of business Christian cake bakers, florists or photographers who don’t kneel down to the radical fringe Greenwich Village/San Francisco/Fire Island “values,” can also bankrupt businesses that don’t sufficiently prostrate themselves before the demands of Muslims for special accommodations (i.e. prayer rooms and breaks, exemptions from having to carry alcohol products, etc.). It goes on and on.

Transgenderism isn’t being spread by leftist ideology. It’s actually a form of intersex in which the main effects are on the brain rather than on the genitals. I think the reason it’s become far more common in recent decades because of a gigantic medical and pharmaceutical disaster that nobody wants to admit to, in which doctors have happily been administering high doses of artificial hormones to pregnant women, without appreciating that these drugs can disrupt the process of sexual development in their unborn babies. As a result, they’ve probably produced several million people at least whose brains are, to varying degrees, the wrong sex for their bodies, and millions more with impaired fertility and endocrine disorders of various kinds. The transgender thing is very likely just the tip of a much larger iceberg, of people whose reproductive systems don’t work properly because they were prenatally exposed to pharmaceutical hormones. This is probably at least part of the explanation for why Western birthrates are declining so precipitously.

Interesting things your wrote here! Never heard of such a theory before but it could be right, as only God knows the real impact modern medicaments cause to the human body (the phama industry is one of the worlds most evil mafia structures).
But I don´t think that the declining western birthrates are coming because of this. It´s mostly because of egoism, hedonism and the greed for successfull careers (= more money). That´s why the traditional family life is becoming more and more something unwanted or considered old-fashioned.
I do not regard the declining birth rates in the West as a problem, since the world is overpopulated anyway already and the soon coming industry 4.0 will eliminate many jobs anyway. The declining birth rates in the West only become a problem because of Islam, because if muzzies weren´t there, nobody would need to feel worried about their native culture and liberties, so producing less children would be something not needing to be worried about.

Very well said. I also made the observance that gays/lesbian and transgenders are VERY committed to a lifestyle that basically consists of nothing else but party, sex and drugs. Of course not all of them are like that, but he majority surely is. You can see that very well on the example of so called “gay pride” parades: They claim it to be demonstrations and fight for more rights, which is absolutely ridiculous, since these events are nothing else but a big party and celebration where most attenders end up with drugs and sex in the end. It´s a total joke! Not a fight or demonstration at all! And sure, these are the weak targets for Islam of course. That´s why most homosexuals and transgenders fall for the Taqqiya game in Islam, as they tend to solidarize with muzzies because they think that they share the same feeling of being opressed with them, which is a prime example of their naivety (especially towards Islam). You can see how blind and messed up these people are on the example of the Orlando shooting: even after this drama, gays are still PRO muslim immigration! That´s how sick their minds already are!

Here is an example of one such drug – a powerful artificial estrogen called DES, that was used in as many as 10 million pregnancies worldwide, as a treatment for preventing miscarriages. DES was also used as a chemical castration agent in prostate cancer treatment, and as you can see from this article (which includes prescribing instructions from a 1950s medical textbook), during the later stages of a DES pregnancy, the mother was receiving more than 100x the maintenance dose required to keep an adult man chemically castrated! The heaviest doses of the drug were administered during the critical period in fetal development when most of the differences between male and female brains are thought to arise, and as a result, it seems to have produced people who have female brains despite having a male appearance. The way this often manifests itself later in life is as a person who looks male, but has a strong inner sense of being a woman.

Transgenderism isn’t the only problem associated with this drug. The very limited studies in which the male babies from these pregnancies were fertility tested later in life, show dramatically reduced sperm counts and high rates of abnormal sperm. The female babies from these pregnancies have severe problems with fertility too, and many of them have been unable to have kids at all even with IVF.

Super interesting! I never heard of such a treatment done to pregnant women in the past on such a large scale! It sounds almost unreal, but it could be indeed the reason why we have this increased numbers of mentally ill people now around who face huge problems with their personality and sexuality. I´m pretty sure these cases weren´t around that much in the past (before the 20th century let´s say).

It’s just one of many instances from that time, where drugs were rushed to market with little or no safety testing. With most of the others they were lucky. However, with DES, that luck ran out, and things went catastrophically wrong, both for the women given the drug, and for their unborn babies. Unfortunately, all the bodies who would normally investigate such a disaster (the pharmaceutical companies, the government regulatory authorities, and senior doctors), were all complicit to some degree in causing it. Rather than own up to what happened, they’ve all closed ranks to prevent the public from finding out about it. It’s hardly surprising really, when you think about what the likely public reaction would be if it became known that, through the reckless use of hormones during pregnancy, the medical industry have inadvertently created several million people at least who have undergone a mixture of male and female development, so aren’t really one sex any more.

Declining birth rates in the West are a problem, because it might not be PC to say so, but many behavioural traits as well as intelligence itself are heritable. You can’t just replace highly skilled Westerners with imports from third world muslim countries and expect technological development etc to carry on as before.

Of course behaviour and intelligence its heritable. Have you ever wondered why black Africans are simply unable to live in functioning societies and provide for themselves despite all external help? There you go! It´s absolutely clear that you cannot keep the same high living standard in a country full of third world muzzies, because when all western non muslims are gone, there will be nobody else able to upkeep that state of development that has been reached in the West. But that´s not what I was refering to. Declining birth rates in the West would be a blessing if the West was a muzzie-free zone. Because it´s very clear that the new technology will replace enormous numbers of jobs in the near future. Many counries of western Europe are already too overpopulated, so a reduction of the numbers would be a blessing. But since muzzies are unfortunately living in the West too, there are only 2 options left for non muslim Westerners: either produce more children than the muzzies do or exterminate all muzzies from Europe.

Power because the oligarchs see Islam as an ideal society where everybody has their place and those who upset the status quo are executed. Greed for money is also the only reason why muslim savage contries from the gulf area are able to export Islam into western societies, because we gave them our money because of our greed for oil. I´m absolutely convinced that western leaders/elites want to use muslims as cheap labor force and that´s why they import these savages, not being aware of the fact that most muslims, especially arab muslims, are not dumb enough to be used as cheap labor force for minimum wages and that they simply don´t want to work anyway as they regard themselves as something higher and better simply because they are muslims. That´s why this plan of the elites will miserably fail because they totally underrate the danger of Islam despite the generally lower IQ of muslims. So no way it´s gonna work out like that. Yes, it can only end by them being destroyed by muslims or launching a holocaust (very efficient and systematic killing) against muslims. But time for this holocaust is running out as the muslim numbers are rapidly increasing and therefore reducing chances for a successfull holocaust.

Environmentalists keep ranting on about things like BPA, phthalates etc, which are weakly estrogenic industrial chemicals present in trace amounts in our food. The artificial female hormones used for miscarriage prevention are a totally different kettle of fish. They’re being administered in the opposite of trace amounts – high doses that would have profound feminizing effects on an adult man, if he were to take exactly the same drug in exactly the same dose. In fact, some of the very same artificial hormones that were/are used for miscarriage prevention, have also been used for transgender hormone treatment (except in lower doses!).
Goodness only knows why doctors and other healthcare workers don’t think about the effects on the unborn baby when giving these drugs to pregnant women. I guess the assumption must be that they’ve been properly tested and are safe. In fact, most of these drugs were introduced at a time when safety testing was minimal, and one of the side effects noted in what limited research was done is that they can cause intersex in animals. The pharmaceutical industry went ahead and promoted them for human use regardless.

I think it is planned, however the planners are muslim scholars, and the governments of Saudi Arabia, Qatar etc have given them the money to bring their plans to fruition. For the last several decades they’ve been using oil money to gradually place more and more of their people in positions of power in countries throughout the West, and to facilitate the importation of footsoldiers for a future muslim takeover as “refugees”. Europe probably hasn’t got much longer before the muslims attempt a takeover, since the muslim migrants are, on average, a lot more used to fighting than Westerners, and so they don’t need to actually be in the majority to have a good chance of taking control.

Mahou, I agree with you but think of what happened in Iraq with a huge army and all the latest equipment facing a determined rag tag group of ISIS butchers of just a few thousand. The Iraqi army dropped these modern weapons and just ran away. Hundreds of their soldiers executed by ISIS. As Israel has shown muslims are not the greatest soldiers. Hopefully we will see this in Europe but with its staggering socialism and cowardly leadership it may be too late.

I don’t think for many Iraqi soldiers who paid with their lives the sites were abandoned quick enough. The best soldiers fighting ISIS were the American trained Kurds. The Canadian trained ones were now fully acquainted with welfare, free homes along with their families, friends and anyone else who wanted to come to Canada and quickly moved here.

Europe has become a playground for social experiments, which will horribly go out of control in the western part of it because it will be the doom even for the creators and pushers of this experiment too.
Canada and the USA are also targets of this experiment (Canada to larger extent so far and the USA to smaller).
Actually we must hope that western Europe will be flushed down the toilet as soon as possible, because this will be the ultimate warning for the rest of the non muslim world that people will understand once they see how western Europe has sunken due to the injection with the muzzie-virus.

What I am saying is that a Christian revival would be no EU panacea, in fact it could hasten the demise. Besides that even the Atheists ( particularly seen in the more extreme leftists) are heavily burdened by their Christian heritages, current active beliefs or not. I see the Christian cultural carry over in my own upbringing. What is needed is something far more realistic and action adaptive, more prepared for hard steps.

The pope and most other top church people may call themselves Christians, but they all seem to worship big government, and either engage in perverse sexual practices of various kinds, or at the very least cover up for fellow church officials who do. Their inner beliefs are not Christian, but are more likely socialist/atheist.
Socialism is antithetical to Christianity, since it involves stealing from people (e.g. “the rich”), and holding a belief in the supremacy and benevolence of a big government run by ordinary fallible people. Straightaway that contradicts two of the ten commandments (Thou shalt not steal, and Thou shalt have no other gods before me).
Catholicism and the Church of England both appear to be in that situation (i.e. run by people who’ve abandoned their faith), which is probably why they’re kowtowing to the muslims. I don’t know enough about Judaism to know whether something similar is going on there too, but it probably is.

The apocalypse is man made, a European mad. Europe is letting all those muslims in for no good reason. In the long run, western Europe and Britain are going to be like north Africa and the East. Deforestation means desertification. These people do not plant trees like the Israe;is do. Deforestation without replenishment has been going on since antiquity. North Africa and the East (Greece, too) used to be well forested. Not any more.

No, once the Mohammedans take over, Western Europe is going to experience a catastrophic population drop, as it reverts back to the Dark Ages. The current population is at least 20x greater than can be sustained using preindustrial agricultural techniques. Once the knowledge base, agricultural machinery, fertilizers, pesticides etc, that currently allow Europe’s land to produce enough food to support 700 million people, are no longer there, there is going to be mass starvation (along with mass disease outbreaks, since vaccines and antibiotics are likely to experience a supply crisis at the same time). Nearly everyone who doesn’t manage to flee elsewhere will die in the ensuing chaos, and once the dust has settled, Europe will be back in the Dark Ages, with a population similar to what it was during the last Dark Ages, of about 30 million. So I don’t see deforestation as being a major concern, more likely a lot of what is currently farmed land and urban areas will revert back to nature.
I know for a fact that there are large areas of currently farmed land in the UK that are only maintained in a state suitable for farming by artificial drainage and pumping stations, and once these stop working, will revert back to swamp. Before the drainage was installed, much of the UK’s southeast used to be endemic malaria territory, and that’s what it will end up reverting to under Mohammedan rule.

Totally agree. When you look at the muslim world it produces nothing, no science, medicine, inventions and no stable government to allow any advancements. Countries like Iran, Egypt, SA or Pakistan import everything with countries lucky enough to have oil money. Once the crash happens in the West oil imports will cease. I believe this crash will cascade very quickly as our highly technical countries are very dependent on our infrastructure.

I didn’t see an important factor mentioned. While they did mention Europe’s low birth rate (below replacement), the Islamic rate was not mentioned. The real key number is how many female Muslims of child bearing age are arriving and how many children do they tend to have? This is a compound interest calculation and the potential yield is huge. So, if a population is 5% Muslim today, it could be 15% in 20 years, and close to 50% in another twenty years. So, by 2060, the tipping point is past and the whole place becomes Eurostan. Hint: If you are in the construction business, figure out how to tap into Mosque building.
