“Unknown suspects” in a city heavily populated by Muslims. Just two days ago, Muslims in Malmö were chanting “we’re going to shoot the Jews.” “We have announced the intifada from Malmö….and we’re going to shoot the Jews” was one of the messages in the square and “the Jews should remember that the army of Muhammad will return.”

Sweden: Unknown suspects throw Molotov cocktails at synagogue

Swedish law enforcement is investigating an anti-Semitic incident in which Molotov cocktails were thrown at a synagogue in Malmo, the country’s third largest city. Nobody was injured during the incident and the building did not suffer any damage. This is the second anti-Semitic incident carried out against the Swedish Jewish community within 48 hours.

Judith Abramson, JOL, Dec 11, 2017 (thanks to Mark):

Two Molotov cocktails were thrown at a synagogue this morning (Monday) in Malmo, Sweden’s third largest city. The Molotov cocktails shattered, but there were no injuries and no damage resulted from the incident. The local law enforcement has begun an investigation. Malmo police spokesperson Lars Forstell stated that the incident is being investigated as “suspected arson.”

We were told by the cemetery director this morning that someone through a Molotov cocktail at our synagogue,” said Freddy Gellberg, a spokesperson for the Malmo Jewish community. “We view this serious incident as a threat against us. It’s starting to become worse. We’re taking this very seriously.”

The anti-Semitic incident in Malmo comes after 200 protesters gathered in the city on Friday calling for acts of violence against the local Jewish community. This is the second anti-Semitic incident to occur against the Swedish Jewish community within 48 hours.

As reported yesterday by JOL, a group of 20 masked suspects threw Molotov cocktails at a synagogue in Gothenburg, Sweden on Saturday night. According to the reports, the suspects were protesting the US recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, after which they attacked the synagogue while there was an event for Jewish youth inside. During the attack, the group was evacuated to the basement of the synagogue. A small fire erupted in the parking lot.
