President Donald Trump’s administration warned that the Palestinian office in Washington, D.C., would be shuttered if the PLO continues to mock peace talks with Israel.
The warning came on the heels of a State Department determination that the Palestinian Liberation Organization has violated a law that prohibits it from pressing for International Criminal Court prosecution of Israel.

The State Department has determined that the PLO has violated a law stating that the PLO cannot push for the International Criminal Court (ICC) to prosecute Israelis. Violation of this law means that the State Department could force the PLO to close its mission, The Associated Press reports.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas stated in September that the Palestinians have called for the ICC to “open an investigation and to prosecute Israeli officials for their involvement in settlement activities and aggressions against our people.”
Given the PLO’s violation, President Donald Trump has 90 days to assess whether the Palestinians are engaged in meaningful negotiations with Israel. If Trump decides that the negotiations are meaningful, the Palestinians can keep their D.C. office. But if not, the office will be shut down. It’s also possible that the Trump administration could close the office down before the 90-day window, but even if the office is closed, that doesn’t mean peace efforts have collapsed.
Trump’s team has already started working on a plan to bring peace to the Middle East 10 months after taking office. For Trump, achieving peace in that region is the “ultimate deal.” The plan will likely discuss Jerusalem and settlements in the West Bank. The Palestinians have expressed some amount of skepticism because of how Trump’s loud, unabashed support for Israel and the fact that several Trump staffers heading the plan are Jews, like Jason D. Greenblatt, chief negotiator, David M. Friedman, ambassador to Israel and Jared Kushner.
It’s unclear when the Trump administration will release a peace proposal.

Bill Clinton legitimized the Palestinians with that failed peace deal with Yassar Arafat in the 1990s.
Jimmy Carter popularized the “Israel is an Apartheid State” lie (with his book that is titled as such).
And Obama continued legitimizing them.

I believe that it would not be enough if the PLO office is closed. If our President really wants to make a statement that peace between these now adversaries is his determined mission, he should immediately move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem. That will tell the PLO and the other Arab protagonists that Israel is there to stay as an dependent state entitled to all the rights that such states have in the international community. I believe that gesture would have profound meaning and hopefully will convince the Arab world that they must accept Israel as its own nation, and finally allow Israel borders that it can protect. That will also have the affect of making the constant claim of the Arab world that Israel is an occupier become a violation of international law on the issue of its sovereignty.

The DC and all embassies of the PLO should be shut down, and its people sent to arabia where they rightfully belong. In all likelihood though, the threats AbbASS made about not sharing intelligence (if that ain’t an oxymoron), will be enough to restore the embassy.
