State Department Puts $700,000 Into Hungarian Media, Demands ‘Programming’ Against Viktor Orban

76

The U.S. State Department just announced it will send $700,000 into Hungary’s media — and now, the country’s anti-globalist and conservative-minded political leaders are wondering why.

Viktor Orban supporters say the U.S. State Department has no business trying to influence the media in the nation.

The State Department says it simply wants to bring about “democracy and human rights programming” onto the airwaves.

But pro-Viktor Orban political watchers see something darker at play. They see the State Department trying to infiltrate the government and instill a more moderate version of conservatism.

Story continues below advertisement

Breitbart has more:

The U.S. State Department has courted controversy by announcing it will plough $700,000 into Hungarian media, angering the country’s anti-globalist, conservative government.
The funding was announced by U.S. Chargé d‘Affaires David Kostelancik, who has previously appeared to openly criticise the Trump administration by alluding to “apparent inconsistencies in [U.S.] foreign policy” and remarking that “not every criticism of the government is ‘fake news’.”

Breitbart London spoke to a State Department official who confirmed it supports what it calls “democracy and human rights programming” in many countries, and that its intentions in Hungary — a NATO ally — are to “support media outlets operating outside the capital … to produce fact-based reporting and increase their audience and economic sustainability”.

The State Department also echoed Kostelancik’s claim that too many Hungarian news outlets are sympathetic to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s popular conservative government — which has earned powerful enemies by opposing the European Union on mass migration, building a highly effective border wall, and exposing the network of European politicians deemed “reliable allies” by billionaire open borders campaigner George Soros.

The obvious subtext to all of this is that the State Department funding effort is intended to bolster anti-government and opposition media. This suggests it is still pursuing Obama era, anti-conservative policy objectives internationally in defiance of President Trump, who has praised Prime Minister Orbán — the first European leader to back him — as “strong and brave”.

The Hungarian leader has maintained a position of strong opposition to “globalist elites, the bureaucrats who serve them, the politicians in their pay, and the agents of the Soros-type networks that embody their interests” despite fierce opposition from Brussels, pro-mass immigration NGOs, and left-liberal U.S. media, believing he is standing up for a “silent majority” of hard-pressed families across the West, who wish to preserve their Christian heritage and national identity.

For its part, the Hungarian government has denounced the State Department for what it regards as blatant interference in its internal affairs ahead of national elections in Spring 2018.

“What is this if not an intervention in the election campaign and the domestic politics of Hungary? Which Washington office can judge the applications of media organisations from a Hungarian county and what kind of balanced service they would like to offer?” asked Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, who said it was shocking that American taxpayers’ money was being used to — to quote the State Department — “educate journalists on how to practice their trade” in an allied democracy.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has summoned the U.S. Chargé d‘Affaires, asking for an explanation, and told him that we consider this a political intervention by the U.S. Department of State ahead of the elections,” a spokesman added.

The Hungarians have also robustly rejected the State Department’s accusations that there is no press freedom in their country. …

Prime Minister Orbán, who opposed the Leftist regime at some personal risk as a younger man, has often chided Western leaders — and the European Union in particular — of “making excuses for the crimes of Communism”, and worked to make sure its victims are given due attention since his election.

Wait, WAIT! Wasn’t Russia’s attempted interference in our politics an act of war? But of course many nations have been interfering for decades, even centuries in the politics of other nations, including us and that even includes coups, which is a lot of interference. So let’s object to those we don’t approve, like this one, and carry on as usual.

The U.S. hypocrisy is that it doesn’t interfere in the political affairs of other nations, but it does and more so than most other nations. Further, it’s actions have a made a mess of countries. It, with the rest of the Western world, wanted efficiently-run white-ruled Rhodesia to end and got something vastly worse in murderous, destructive black-ruled Zimbabwe. No less South Africa that is now a typical black-ruled mess.
Americans by the thousands should write to Donald Trump regarding his treacherous State Department, but how many will? Most are too darned lazy, uncommitted to fight for anything and wouldn’t fight their way out of a wet paper bag. The lack of commitment is appalling. If you want something, for heaven’s sake fight for it!

Everyone tweet/email this article to Trump and demand stop to funding pro-islam propaganda against Patriots in Hungary fighting back against the same jihadi menace that Trump is trying to fight.

And demand dismissal of Obama holdovers like Mc master who is dictating pro-islam policies including in the state dept using obama holdovers and the dumb Tillerson Nods along.

stop funding Islamic jihadis and their supporters that includes Left/liberals.

Trump did Right thing on calling out the jihadi palestinian rats

You are right, Poppey, increasing the U.S. State Department is making of the United States an
enemy of the free world. Donald Trump needs to WAKE UP, get rid of
Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, and appoint someone tough and ruthless
to clean out the treacherous and subversive left-wing, Islam sympathetic Obama State Department. Hungary’s admirable Viktor Orban has refused to allow his country to become a chaotic scene of Muslim rape and murder, and a breeding ground for Islamic jihad, so for his tough actions has learned that for the United States is not his country’s
friend, in fact is in league with the Islamic enemy. Hungary had about 150 years of ruthless and murderous Islamic rule under the Ottoman Muslims and is determined not to have a repeat. Rex Tillerson is reported to have described the president as a “f…ing idiot”, but it’s now evident that the “f…king idiot” is Rex Tillerson who needs to find a new job because as Secretary of State he is a clueless ass.

The only positive part in this story is that 750 000 will not be enough to bribe one single country-journalist. (In Hungary there is Budapest, and there is “country” – even if another city hosts 500 000 people.) And in the “country” Viktor Orban and his party “FIDESZ” is beating the socialists and commies by a huge margin. The commies (or progressives – as they like to say it these days) are stronger only in Budapest (roughly 20% of the Hungarian population lives in Budapest), therefore the American administration interferes in the country. Mainly because next to nobody buys a commie piece of crap in the form of a newspaper over there. Nobody cares about the junk products of the West European comrades and Soros, so the State Dept. now tries to bribe journalists to give their nonsense to the people about the wonders of multi-culti, and Diver City, and the equality of all cultures.
It is a wasted money. As I said above that won’t be enough to bribe one journalist, and the other reason is that as soon as the people see a paper changing its stance no one will buy that paper.

Soros and the State Department will have to come up with some better plan to overthrow Orban and the FIDESZ, Let me help them: It will have to be “The Hungarian Spring” as it was “spring” in Libya a few years ago.

And just watch the American media as they will “find out” next year how “evil” the Hungarian government is.
Soros already finances many people who created “newspapers” (blogs) with grandiloquent sounding names such as Hungarian Free Press – suggesting that one need to go to the West to produce free journalism because in Hungary the journalists are oppressed. But as a matter fact most of those traitors who write articles in those blogs live in Hungary, they only use a dupe in Canada or the USA to create a facade as if the “paper” was written in America. All these are for demonization only, which as of now is held back from mainstream media. But it is there, and mainstream media will use them as reference once the time will arrive to create a “Hungarian Spring”, too.
