The Purpose of Islamic “Dawa” is to Sow the Seeds of Hate

But Islam is more than a politically neutral religion (the way that a religion has been misunderstood in the West) but it is a political movement at the same time. Just as early Christians could not find peace until the state of the Roman Empire has been converted to and given a Christian face (under Constantine) – so also the Muslims today must strive to make the non-Muslims states become officially Muslim. Islam will remain a rising threat in the West.

 

Dawa : Seeding the seeds of hate

While the West is engaged in combating “hate speech,” “Islamophobia,” and white hegemonic groups , it seems more than willing to ignore the cultivation of Muslim hate speech and hegemonic behavior toward non-Muslims.

It is a cultivation that occurs mainly in the process of the Dawa, the Muslim practice of Islamic evangelism or mission, the results of which appeared to be seen this week in a terrorist attack in downtown New York. The Uzbek-born terrorist Sayfullo Saipov apparently was radicalized after moving to the US . The mosque he visited in New Jersey was under surveillance by the NYPD since 2005. A government-mandated report in 2016 said that Uzbek nationals are “most likely to radicalize when working as migrants abroad,” according to the US State Department.

Superficially, Dawa , or mission – personally or online – seems to be a benevolent missionary activity for the conversion of non-Muslims. Legal in Western societies, it is permissible for it to be undisturbed by the media or government. Dawa usually attracts little attention, unless members of a missionary organization suddenly appear as full jihadists in the headlines.

Politicians and media in the West seem to prefer Islam as a religion rather than a political system that, according to critics, wants to impose its own laws and regulations, the Sharia .

Presumably, the last thing a society wants is groups that disguise political activity in religious practices that are protected under the rules of religious freedom.

In the Philippines, members of the Dawa Organization, known as Tablighi Jamaat (“the group that spreads the faith”), have recently entered the country under the guise of missionary activity – that they would attend the annual Tablighi Jamaat meeting. It turned out, however, that they had come to jihad together with Isnilon Hapilon, the late “Emir” of the Islamic state in Southeast Asia.

The Tablighi Jamaat was described by Islam expert and journalist Innes Bowen in her 2014 book Medina in Birmingham, Najaf in Trent as “a Deobandi missionary movement and one of the largest Islamic groups in the UK” … it is one of a kind of the most successful Islamic movements in Britain. A large number of British Muslims have spent a lot of time in their ranks. ”  However, Tablighi Jamaat was largely unknown in Britain until it revealed that several British Muslims charged with terrorist offenses had spent time in the organization. Among these terrorists were Richard Reid, the “shoe bomber” and three of the four perpetrators of the London 7/7 terrorist attacks. The American enemy combatants John Walker Lindh, who helped the Taliban, was charged with Tablighi Jamaat association and the San Bernardino-Terrorist Syed Farook prayed in San Bernardino at the Dar al Uloom al Islamiyyyah mosque as a “haven for Tablighi Jamaat activists” as it was described.

The movement, so another expert on Islam, Yoginder Sikand, in his 1998 study on the Tablighi Jamaat, “seeks to promote a sense of paranoia and even disgust with non-Muslim society” . He quoted a prominent British patron of Tablighi Jamaat with the sentence:

“One of the main aims of tabligh is to save the ummah [Muslim community] from the culture and civilization of the Jews, Christians and (other) enemies of Islam in order to create such hatred for their species as people do for urine. .. and excretions … “.

The Tablighi Jamaat was described in the Middle East Quarterly in an article titled ” Tablighi Jamaat: Jihad’s Stealthy Legions ” as a wolf in sheep ‘s clothing :

“Tablighi Jamaat is not a monolith: a sub-division believes they should pursue jihad with the help of conscience … while a more radical wing represents jihad through the sword … in practice, all Tablighis preach a creed that is radical Wahhabi-Salafist jihadist ideology that so many terrorists share “.

Nevertheless, Tablighi Jamaat remains a legal, active organization that has a significant influence on Muslims in Europe, particularly the United Kingdom and the United States. As early as 2003, Deputy Head of the Department of International Terrorism of the FBI, Michael J. Heimbach , said, “We have a significant presence of Tablighi Jamaat in the United States and we have found that Al-Qaeda is recruiting for them now and in has used the past. A video review of the Darul Uloom Islamic high School in Birmingham, England, connected with the Tablighi Jamaat, showed in 2011 that to Muslim children a Muslim hegemony was taught. Both US and Dutch intelligence seemed to have been aware of the threat of Dawa organizations. In 2004, a report by the Dutch government identified threats to Dutch society through the practice of Dawa and concluded that an “interaction or even intertwining of Dawa and Jihad is the relationship between the various forms of radical Islam and the phenomenon of radical Islam ” demonstrate Islamic terrorism “.

The study also differentiates between different types of Dawa , both overt and covert, and the threats they pose:

It seems that Western governments, at least officially, have largely forgotten these insights in Dawa as a tool to promote feelings of Muslim supremacy and hatred against non-Muslims. Instead, they engage in endless, misguided obsessions about “Islamophobia.” Her forgetfulness should be a cause for concern.

Other Dawa organizations are active in the West. One of them is the Islamic Education and Research Academy ( iERA ), which is led by two converts, Abdur Raheem Green and Hamza Andreas Tzortis, who is committed to promoting Islam worldwide. Unlike the Tablighi Jamaat, she focuses her missionary efforts on non-Muslims. Their leaders have made racist, hegemonic and anti-democratic statements, such as, once again, calling non-Muslims “Kuffar.” Green said that “the purpose of Jizya [protection money, or ” tax ” paid by non-Muslims to Muslims] is to let the Jews and Christians know that they are inferior and subject to Islam”, and “if a Jew or Christ is found walking down the street, a Muslim should push them aside. ” He also said that the “immediate problem” for Muslims in the UK is to be surrounded by “Kuffars” and that one of the only justifications for Muslims to remain in the UK is “to call the Kuffar to Islam.”

Tzortis said that apostates who “fight against the community [should] be killed” and that “as Muslims, we reject the idea of ​​freedom of expression and even the idea of ​​freedom”. He admits that he used to be a member of the radical Islamic organization Hizb ut-Tahrir but quit for “scholastic and philosophical reasons”. In a statement on the iERA website, Tzortis and Green try to distance themselves from some (unspecified) utterances of the past by writing “Some of the anachronistic utterances attributed to iERA employees have either been clarified or publicly withdrawn and never made to the universities.”

The iERA obviously enjoys a large platform at British universities. According to a report on extremist events at British universities in the academic year 2016/17, iERA was behind 34 of the 112 events this year. In contrast to the right-wing extremist fringe groups recently banned by British Interior Minister Amber Rudd – the mere support of such groups is punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment – the iERA is free to pursue its Dawa activities undisturbed and does so at an incredible pace. According to the organization’s Facebook page, iERA or its representatives were active in Dawa alone in October 2017 in Canada, Hong Kong, the Netherlands and the US, IERA has also trained 15 Dawa leaders from around the world – from Iceland and Poland to Honduras and Finland – in a recent online Dawa training program.

In the United States, iERA works with the Muslim American Society (MAS) and the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), according to the iERA website. ICNA, a leading Muslim organization in the US, is actively involved in Dawa, and in 2015 held the Global Dawa Day, which focused on the Tzortis training course.

According to the ICNA 2013 Membership Manual (for its female members), the organization sees itself as an Islamic movement:

“Organized and collective effort to establish Al-Islam in its fullest form in all walks of life, its ultimate goal being the joy of our Creator Allah and success in the Hereafter through the struggle for Iqamat-ad-Deen [the establishment of Islam in its entirety]. Islamic movements are active in various parts of the world to achieve the same goals.

The ultimate goal of establishing an Islamic state in the United States could hardly be clearer. The pretext on their public website that ICNA advocates for “diversity” and “inclusion” can not be described as an attempt at camouflage, as the stated goal of “establishing a place for Islam in America” ​​is. The ICNA already has a place for Islam in America – it probably wants to expand this space until nothing else is left.

The 2013 User Guide describes that the work of the ICNA is in stages. One of the levels is Dawa, or “effective range at the mission”.

“Those who accept the truth of Islam receive appropriate Islamic literature and the opportunity to become Muslim, and they will be included as brothers and sisters in the Islamic Umma.”

The member manual then describes, as in the 1970s:

“ICNA has established its own forums for local, regional and national Dawah work, and the ICNA has established vital national institutions to support its Dawah activities … Coordinating ICNA, which recognizes other movement-oriented groups in the country and continues to pool all their efforts.

In fact, ICNA has its own project called ” Why The Islam Dawah Project ” which

“aims to professionally and effectively organize Dawah work in North America, highlights of the project are the toll-free number for non-Muslims, dissemination of Islamic literature … Dawah on the media, Dawah in prisons, Dawah support at universities, Dawah Flyers Online; Dawah via Email “.

ICNA is viewed by experts such as Steven Emerson, founder and executive director of The Investigative Project on Terrorism , as affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood . Their spiritual leader, Yusuf al Qaradawi, has preached that the West will be conquered by Islam – not by the sword, but by Dawa .

When Western governments are unable to grasp the danger posed by organizations like Tablighi Jamaat, iERA and ICNA and, according to critics, others like CAIR and ISNA, let alone do something about them instead of being obsessed endlessly with “Islamophobia” – Qaradawi could be right.
