NYC Attacker Had Thousands Of Pieces Of ISIS Propaganda On His Phone

Saagar Enjeti, Daily Caller, on November 2, 2017

New York City terrorist Sayfullo Saipov had copious amounts of Islamic State propaganda on his cell phones, the FBI criminal complaint filed against him Wednesday notes.

Saipov is a legal permanent resident from Uzbekistan who has resided in the U.S. since 2010. He attacked and killed eight civilians and injured a dozen more Tuesday. He left notes in the truck he used to plow through pedestrians that declared his allegiance to the Islamic State, and told investigators he is “proud” of his work, wishing only he had run over more people.

Saipov also made a request to hang an ISIS flag in his hospital room while he recovers.

FBI agents discovered 90 videos and 3,800 images on Saipov’s phone. The videos included: “ISIS fighters killing a prisoner by running the prisoner over with a tank,” another depicting a man getting shot in the face, a beheading, and an instructional video on how to make a homemade bomb.

Images on the cell phone included “multiple images of the symbol of ISIS’s media wing, multiple images of Abu Bakr Al-Bagdadi, and an image of an ISIS member standing next to an individual who appears to be shot.” Saipov’s other cell phone included Google searches for rental truck stores in his area and where pedestrians might be gathered on Halloween.

The criminal complaint also notes that Saipov has been planning his attack for nearly a year following the instructions laid out in a speech by ISIS leader Abu Bakr Al-Bagdadi in 2016 and ISIS’s magazine.

President Donald Trump has indicated he wants the U.S. government to seek the death penalty against Saipov in criminal proceedings.

The Truth Must be Told

Your contribution supports independent journalism

Please take a moment to consider this. Now, more than ever, people are reading Geller Report for news they won't get anywhere else. But advertising revenues have all but disappeared. Google Adsense is the online advertising monopoly and they have banned us. Social media giants like Facebook and Twitter have blocked and shadow-banned our accounts. But we won't put up a paywall. Because never has the free world needed independent journalism more.

Everyone who reads our reporting knows the Geller Report covers the news the media won't. We cannot do our ground-breaking report without your support. We must continue to report on the global jihad and the left's war on freedom. Our readers’ contributions make that possible.

Geller Report's independent, investigative journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we believe our work is critical in the fight for freedom and because it is your fight, too.
