US withdraws from Unesco over relentless ‘anti-Israel bias’

President Obama embraced the hate. So it not only continued, but was sanctioned by the most powerful nation in the world. Finally, his wrongs are being put right.

Long overdue.

Even Irina Bokova, the director-general of the UN’s cultural agency UNESCO, expressed her opposition to her organization’s own members after they adopted a resolution that rejects the historic Jewish connection to holy sites in Jerusalem. More Islamic falsifying of other religions.

US withdraws from Unesco over ‘anti-Israel bias’

October 12, 2017, By Emily Shugerman New York, Independent (thanks to Lookmann):

The United States has withdrawn from Unesco over what it claims is the organisation’s “continuing anti-Israel bias”.

The State Department announced its intention to withdraw from the UN’s cultural, scientific and educational organisation and become a permanent observer instead.

“This decision was not taken lightly, and reflects US concerns with mounting arrears at Unesco, the need for fundamental reform in the organisation, and continuing anti-Israel bias at Unesco,” the State Department said in a statement.

The country hopes to remain a non-member, observer state, in order to contribute US opinions and expertise on issues like press freedoms and protecting world heritage, according to the Department. The decision will take effect at the end of 2018.

The US helped found Unesco in the wake of the Second World War, with the aim of ensuring peace through the free flow of ideas and education.

Your contribution supports independent journalism

Please take a moment to consider this. Now, more than ever, people are reading Geller Report for news they won't get anywhere else. But advertising revenues have all but disappeared. Google Adsense is the online advertising monopoly and they have banned us. Social media giants like Facebook and Twitter have blocked and shadow-banned our accounts. But we won't put up a paywall. Because never has the free world needed independent journalism more.

Everyone who reads our reporting knows the Geller Report covers the news the media won't. We cannot do our ground-breaking report without your support. We must continue to report on the global jihad and the left's war on freedom. Our readers’ contributions make that possible.

Geller Report's independent, investigative journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we believe our work is critical in the fight for freedom and because it is your fight, too.

Please contribute to our ground-breaking work here.
