Daily Mail blames “Islamophobic” Pamela Geller for jihad plot to behead her over “offensive” free speech event

46

The media and even conservatives who should know better have long blamed me for the jihad attack on my Garland free speech event. Increasingly, we’re abridging our freedoms so as not to offend savages. The very idea that if something offends me, or I’m insulted by something, I’ll kill you, and somehow this is okay with members of the elite media, and academia, is outrageous. But in light of that, it’s no surprise that the Daily Mail would blame me for the Boston jihad plot to behead me.

“Daily Mail blames ‘Islamophobic’ Pamela Geller for jihad plot to behead her over ‘offensive’ free speech event,” by Robert Spencer, Jihad Watch, October 19, 2017:

This is why I call the Daily Mail the worst paper in the Western world: it reports with unusual accuracy about jihad plots and attacks, but then it turns around and vilifies anyone and everyone who actually opposes jihad terror. Geert Wilders and I have been its targets in the past, and now it’s Pamela Geller.

Story continues below advertisement

Look at all the qualifiers in the Daily Mail headline: yes, an ISIS recruit plotted to behead Pamela Geller, but she is “Islamophobic,” and her “Prophet” Muhammad cartoon contest was “offensive.” So you can see how she had it coming, eh, Daily Mail?

The Daily Mail follows the universal establishment media practice of referring to Muhammad as “Prophet Muhammad,” as if he were everyone’s prophet now. Well, he isn’t, and the actual name of the event was the Muhammad Art Exhibit and Cartoon Contest. Its purpose was not to be “offensive,” but to take a stand against violent intimidation, and to show that at least some people in the West will not be silenced by bullying.

We were standing for the freedom of speech, and the Daily Mail calls that “offensive.”

“Rovinski, of Warwick, Rhode Island, testified against Wright, telling jurors that Wright said Geller ‘deserved to be beheaded’ because she insulted Mohammad.”

Apparently the Daily Mail agrees with them.

The Daily Mail is a key indication of why we are in such a fix in the West today.

“ISIS recruit is convicted of plotting to behead ‘Islamophobic’ conservative blogger Pamela Geller for sponsoring offensive Prophet Muhammad cartoon contest in 2015,” by Megan Sheets, Dailymail.com, October 18, 2017:

An ISIS recruit was convicted of plotting to behead a conservative American blogger for organizing a Prophet Muhammad cartoon contest on Wednesday.

Jurors found David Wright, 28, from Massachusetts, guilty of all charges, including conspiracy to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization and conspiracy to commit acts of terrorism transcending national boundaries.

The 28-year-old who authorities say fell under the influence of ISIS faces up to life in prison for plotting to behead Pamela Geller.

In a statement to DailyMail.com, Geller said: ‘I am deeply grateful to the jury. The evidence against Wright was quite clear. What is astonishing is that there isn’t more general indignation in the mainstream media against someone who tried to kill me for exercising my freedom of speech.

‘Instead, most Western media outlets have internalized the idea that the response to violent intimidation from Muslims is to do what they want, and conform our behavior to their sensibilities. That is the path of submission and subjugation. I refuse to take it.’

Prosecutors said Wright, his uncle and a third man conspired to kill Geller because they were upset she organized a Prophet Muhammad cartoon contest in Dallas, Texas, in 2015.

In May of that year, Wright met with his uncle Ussamah Rahim and Nicholas Rovinski, of Warwick, Rhode Island, for more than two hours on a secluded Rhode Island beach and discussed plans to kill Geller, according to the indictment.

Days later, Rahim told Wright he couldn’t wait to attack Geller and decided instead to go after ‘those boys in blue,’ referring to police, Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie Siegmann told jurors Wednesday.

Wright encouraged his uncle to attack police and die a ‘martyr,’ instructing him to destroy his cellphone and wipe all the data from his computer….

Rovinski, of Warwick, Rhode Island, testified against Wright, telling jurors that Wright said Geller ‘deserved to be beheaded’ because she insulted Mohammad.

The UK is not free speech friendly. They are leftists, social democrats, who see free speech, not in our libertarian fashion, but as something that an “enlightened” government (read “leftists”) needs to regulate in the public’s interest. In the UK, if you criticize Islam you’ll be talking to the authorities about it. We’re not just different from North Korea or Russia, we’re different from Western Europe and the UK as well.

Pamela’s courage is an inspiration to us all.

There are few, if any, people that deserve to be more vilified than Mohammed of Mecca.
The fantasies of this insane Semitic psychopath have resulted in the destruction of several enlightened civilisations and the murder of around 280 million people worldwide.

Antisemitism means hatred of the Jews and nothing else. And it should be spelled as one word not two.

My somewhat dated Merriam-Webster Collegiate dictionary spells it “anti-Semite”. But I guess you know better, nitpicker.

Sheesh.

Yes, I do know better. The coiner of the term antisemitism, Whilhelm Marr, speled it as one word and so does holocaust historian, Yehuda Baur. Lillian Freudmann, z’L, author of “Antisemitism in the New Testament,” explained to me that when one spells antisemitism with a hyphen, one gets the impression the word means hatred of Jews and Arabs; however, when one spells it as one word, one understands more clearly that it means hatred of Jews (the terms actual meaning).

Well Freudmann makes an interesting distinction, one that I will have to consider, but it seems more arcane to me than the significance of quotes. I do not believe one cannot be called wrong for using the hyphenated spelling, which Webster made clear referred to Jews. But thanks for sharing.

By the way, it’s spelled Yehuda Bauer. And, when referring to the murder of six million Jews by the Nazis, it’s Holocaust, not holocaust. Just sayin’. :>)

I wrote a favorable review of her book, “Antisemitism in the New Testament,” for Amazon too, so it was very embarrassing when Lillian Freudmann. z’L, blasted me for writing the word anti-Semitism the way the computer does it (example in this sentence). Later over soup with her and her son (still a good friend), she explained why she asked it to be spelled the way she does it..

Pamela is being misleading. The Mail’s headline did not identify her as Islamophobic: it identified her as ‘Islamophobic’, and there is a considerable difference between the two. That’s just the way the English language is. With the quotes, it indicates the claim is questionable, if not downright spurious. Furthermore, Pamela knew she was mocking the soi-disant prophet, and she knew Moslems would find it- wait for it- offensive. You have a right to be offended, Moslems, but suck it up, because in a civilized world that does not grant you the right to murder. Moreover, any ‘religion’ that says it does is not a religion, but merely another murderous ideology.

Shucks, I could name an ideologically much worse newspaper right there in Pamela’s hometown. Chalk one up for the Daily Mail.

I have no idea what you mean. Frankly, I’m not sure this sentence means anything. But I would expect a guy who has written a lot of books, articles, and papers to understand the calculated ambiguity behind putting quotes around a word the way the headline did. But perhaps my expectations are a bit old-school.

They’re just being total cowards. They are akin to cowards such as Laura Ingraham who told our heroine that we “can’t fight a billion Muslims.” At least when “The Guardian” blasts Pamela Geller, they do it out of their sick convictions rather than outright fear.

Incidentally, “The Daily Mail” British paper and those single quotation marks probably indicate ambiguity as to whether Pamela is a bigot or not. This is typical of the cowardice of “The Daily Mail.” I remember when that brit rag published the Garland exhibit with the paintings of Mohammed blacked out. And those British antisemites say we Jews are cowards. Hrumph!

Pamela, I know you are proud of your “islamophobia.” In your case, as in mine, there is nothing irrational about our concerns that Islamism is a dangerous and threatening belief system, no different than Nazism, Fascism, Communism, except it masquerades around claiming it is a “religion” of peace. That is as far from the truth as one can get. It is a cult belief system of Supremacy, Domination, Overthrow and conversion or death to non-believers and anti-Semitism. Since that is the basic tenant of Islam, being Islamophobic is not only justified, but it is righteous. Enjoy the accusations, as I do.

Two comments on this.
Firstly, the DM is rightly criticised over this particular report, but it has often been the only part of the MSM giving airtime to “Islamophobic” views, whereas the other uk newspapers endlessly churn out fake news and fake analysis.
Secondly, people should be free to mock this “prophet”, and certainly not threatened or treated as if it is their own fault. BUT – organising such insulting events serves no useful purpose other than to inflame. The Muslims do not learn anything as a result, they just get more angry. Instead, approach Muslims as if they just might be rational people trying to get out of their medieval shells – present factual and rational challenges to their ignorance. Ask them why they believe what they do. Ask them whether they believe quran 18:86 which declares that the sun sets in a muddy spring – they aren’t going to have a riot about that because if they did the joke would be on themselves. More sensible things to raise with Muslims at http://www.IslamHoax.com and http://www.BecomeATerrorist.com.

TO: What ever moron wrote this piece of TRASH!
If one or more people are actually & literally planning on killing YOU then beheading YOU and you know about it and write about it then you ARE NOT an ‘Islamophobic’! You are NOT paranoid either, you are a realist and you tell others about this lying, murdering, terrorist group that calls itself the “religion” (it is a CULT NOT a religion) of “Peace and Love” (another lie) and it is the truth. Also this “cult” and ALL of its members need to be totally destroyed BEFORE it does take over the World. Just another reason why America will never be a part of the “One World Order”! I’m almost 70 y/o but I can and will protect my Country, I Swore an Oath to do exactly that, it is still a valid Oath! So you “wanna be” journalist you are an idiot that has no common sense.
