Cardinal Says Countries Have Right to Reject Migrants Who Won’t Assimilate

Cardinal Robert Sarah of Guinea said leaders of the world ought to respect the sovereign rights of countries to accept — or deny — whomever they want when it comes to migration.

The cardinal made the comments during Sunday service.

And his overall point was this: If migrants refuse to assimilate, then countries have every right to view them with suspicion — and act accordingly.

The Daily Caller News Foundation has more:

Cardinal Robert Sarah of Guinea said Sunday that world leaders must respect the rights of countries reject migrants who won’t assimilate or who are dangerous.

Sarah, Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, said at the Europa Christi conference in Poland that the rights of countries to distinguish legitimate political and religious refugees from migrants who seek the economic benefits of changing their residence with no intention of assimilating to that country’s culture must be respected, according to Catholic Herald. Sarah’s comments on immigration directly contradict those of Pope Francis, who has urged countries, including the U.S., on multiple occasions to keep their doors open to migrants, regardless of whether their need is economic or if it is one of political or religious asylum.

“The right of a nation to distinguish a refugee from an economic immigrant who does not identify with the culture of the country in which he wants to live can not be undermined,” Sarah said according to Polish news organization GOSC.

Poland, according to Sarah, is one such country that chose to make that distinction and to reject the immigration policies that “some people want to impose.” Sarah’s comments on immigration are not the first instance of him contradicting Francis, as Francis has publicly corrected Sarah twice before for Sarah’s resistance to Francis’ decentralized vision of the Catholic Church.

Sarah acknowledged that migrants should be respected as human beings, but also noted that the factors of religion, culture, and national safety make the issue of immigration more complex than acknowledging general humanity. World leaders, according Sarah, should not undermine the right of any country to deny migrants who pose a threat to that country’s common good or who seek to erode national identity or who hold religious beliefs that are contradictory to that country’s culture.

“The ideology of liberal individualism promotes a mixing that is designed to erode the natural borders of homelands and cultures, and leads to a post-national and one-dimensional world where the only things that matter are consumption and production,” Sarah said, according to GOSC.

Sarah then lamented what he saw as the secularizing effect of such “liberal individualism” on Europe, which he said has forsaken its Christian heritage and is now in “a state of quiet apostasy” that began to develop two centuries ago with the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche.

“Europe has since then been in an ongoing crisis caused by, among others, atheistic ideologies, and is now plunging into nihilism,” Sarah said.

Cardinal Sarah is one of the heroes of the traditional catholic church, now that the marxists have overrun the Church in Europe. Pray for his welfare. He has many enemies.

That he has many enemies clearly indicates he is on the right path.

He states the obvious: as we have individually the right to let into our homes, those we wish to let in, and that is all … a nation is a home.

If we cannot limit those who come in, and insist on whoever does, becoming members of our family who contribute and make our family better, then our homes are destroyed. This is what is happening all over Europe, and it is the wish of globalists for it to happen here.

You are less than what you describe others as. In particular you are an uneducated buffoon. If you were educated it would show, all you present is a statement confirming attendance at some “institute” apparently one for mental incompetents. Throw yourself in a kindergarten, start becoming educated, do society a favour.

And what makes you the be all and end all? You obviously hold yourself in very high regard in relation to other people. You write about others on this post as if you personally know everyone here, disrespecting everyone here. I usually find that people who believe they are better than everyone else, eventually lead very lonely lives. By the way, most of the “deplorables” I know are fine Americans who respect the flag, and respect our way of life in this, our country. If that is what a “deplorable” is, then it is to be considered a compliment.

Cardinal Robert Sarah has it right, defiantly Papal material when the current imposter is removed.

I like this Cardinal a lot better than the current Pope. He should run for the office of Pope!

Would he get elected though? Jorge Bergolio has been very busy making cardinals out of fellow communists & homosexual advocates :/

I would love to see the righteous Cardinal Sarah become Pope. That would be God’s holy hand at work. And the meek shall inherent the Earth.

According to St. Malachy’s revelation, Francis may be the last pope (http://www.catholic-pages.com/grabbag/malachy.asp). While I neither agree nor disagree, am watching how this will play out. For sure, biblical prophecy will determine whether any revelation is true or false.

At last a voice of reason. Christians around the world should reject the current excuse for a pope and be awake to the murderous cult of Islam.
