Hamas-Tied CAIR Conducted “Islamophobia” Sensitivity Training for Philadelphia Teachers

24

Imagine the uproar if the Philadelphia public school system brought in me or any other counter-jihad speaker to talk about the jihad threat. There would be petitions, protests, boycotts, riots, and probably the event would never go on. But a Hamas-tied group speaking about a trumped-up propaganda term designed to vilify those who oppose jihad? Bring them in!

“CAIR Conducted Sensitivity Training for Philadelphia Teachers,” by John Rossomando, IPT News, October 11, 2017:

Philadelphia’s public school system allowed the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) to conduct sensitivity training for its teachers last year, CAIR press releases and school district documents obtained by the Investigative Project on Terrorism show.

Story continues below advertisement

CAIR attorneys conducted a presentation for educators on Election Day, focusing on Islamophobia and the civil rights of Muslim students, a November press release said. The seminar was described as the first in a series of planned workshops on those issues.

“In the current political environment, Muslim American students are facing increased rates of bullying, emotional abuse, physical threats, and verbal epithets due to their faith, race, or ethnicity,” CAIR Philadelphia said in the release.

CAIR Philadelphia provides zero evidence to support this assertion.

Still, the director of the school system’s Multilingual Family Support Center argued that, “We need CAIR helping our schools.”

Asheq Fazlullah, a member of CAIR Philadelphia’s executive committee, and then-CAIR attorney Ryan Houldin conducted the Nov. 8 training, a school district email shows.

For a subsequent session, Fazlullah and Houldin would discuss “issues of diversity, equity, and fairness” at a January 3 professional development day, Colette Langston, principal at Philadelphia’s Swenson Arts and Technology High School, wrote in an email to teachers. The morning seminar was called, “Cultural Sensitivity and Diversity Workshop #1 Topic: Islamophobia.”

The school district did not provide course materials in response to the IPT’s public records request. School district officials did not respond to queries as to whether they conduct sensitivity training for other religious groups including Christians, Jews, Sikhs, or Hindus.

The school district’s reliance on CAIR could raise constitutional issues because the group’s executive director has described CAIR as a religious ministry.

Nihad Awad, CAIR’s executive director, testified before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) last spring that CAIR was a religious organization whose primary purpose is to spread Islam.

“[Awad] testified at length about the Employer’s role in conducting educational services in the fields of religion, culture, education, society, and history concerning Islamic issues. These services are provided to both Muslims and non-Muslims alike. [Awad] described the Employer’s role in explaining the Islamic faith itself,” Charles L. Posner, regional director of the National Labor Relations Board, wrote in an April 7 ruling.

Awad’s acknowledgement prompted the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) to publicly back away from a CAIR-sponsored anti-bullying program. The Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund (FCDF) was suing to bar CAIR from influencing public school programming.

San Diego’s anti-bullying plan violated California law, along with students’ 1st and 14th amendment rights because CAIR is a religious organization and because the program gave Muslim students special treatment, the lawsuit said.

Those arguments could apply equally to Philadelphia’s public schools. “The San Diego case is far from over, so there is no doubt it could have precedential value in a legal challenge to Philadelphia schools’ partnership with CAIR,” FCDF Executive Director Daniel Piedra told the IPT.

School districts may not aid one religion, one religion over another, or religion over non-religion, an American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) legal bulletin said. It cites the seminal 1972 U.S. Supreme Court case, Lemon v. Kurtzman.

“Under the so-called ‘Lemon test,’ a court must inquire (1) whether the government’s action has a secular or a religious purpose; (2) whether the primary effect of the government’s action is to advance or endorse religion; and (3) whether the government’s policy or practice fosters an excessive entanglement between government and religion,” the ACLU bulletin said.

In the San Diego case, FCDF argued that CAIR’s definition of Islamophobia is too vague and that what it considers bullying could ensnare legitimate criticisms of Islamic practice. FCDF also asserted that the SDUSD’s “anti-bullying” program unconstitutionally established Muslims “as a privileged group within the school community.”…

This is not new training for most of the educators, but more a refreshed after now 40+ years of CAIR/Hamas indoctrinating our schools.

Just imagine if they brought in Christians to discuss “Christophobia.” The Left would not stand for it.’ Second of all, there is no such thing as “Islamaphobia” (that’s why it is in quotes). The propagandists append “phobia” so it sounds like a mental defect. Clever rhetorical trick. However, it begs the question, is it actually a phobia? A phobia is an unreasonable fear, that is, it is UNreasonable. The Koran and hadiths amply supply us with reasonable “fears,” if one (hint to the Left) actually takes the time to read them front to back.

Boy it would be fun to be in that “training” session. The challenges I could offer! Such fun it would be — but with “CAIR’s” dagger eyes pointing at me, of course. Second thought, maybe I wouldn’t go unless I had armed bodyguards galore. Oh well, it’s fun to dream.

Michigan is a lost state and should at this point be considered an enemy combatant state. My friend had to close his restaurant in Dearborn a few years back due to bricks and rocks being thrown at his car as he drove to his restaurant. He felt unsafe allowing his kids to come with him to work, or even driving them past his work.

I live in NY, he lives in Michigan? He did fight back for a few years, he said he was lucky that he is a third generation Mexican, so they can’t tell he isn’t a muslim when he walks the streets.

The problem was the brick throwing as he drove, who do you go after when you don’t see where the flying objects are coming from? Michigan has given up on fighting Islam, and instead stop answering police calls.

“The school district’s reliance on CAIR could raise constitutional issues because the group’s executive director has described CAIR as a religious ministry”. Why are public schools , which are supposed to be nondenominational, being exposed to religious indoctrination through islamic organizations? It is about time that a few laws were observed, with school boards who flout them, disbanded and a neutral government appointed, accountable to the tax payers administration installed.

Why aren’t there daily protests outside the offices of CAIR to denounce this sort of practice. Why aren’t the people involved in this hounded on a daily basis. Why do the parents of these students allow this to be perpetrated on their children.

Islamic Subterfuge/Taqiyah, in 1986-87 when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade CAIR came to my Long Island elementary school and handed out coloring books and crayons, and taught us how Islam is one of the 3 abrahamic religions, and they are our cousins, and want what we want.

No permission slips, this was a mandatory school presentation we all received in the auditorium. My parents were furious, so spoke with the school administrators about how this could happen, and they were told a Muslim family moved into the neighborhood and were worried their kids would be treated differently, so were just trying to educate us to be more tolerant. There was no social media, and the local papers did not care to report on it at the time.

Now we have over a lost generation of children who became adults and believe this BS. I know I was a brainwashed believer until I started to have co workers I considered friends who shared their true world views as muslims. 9/11 was a real eye opener, for better or in the real world, worse, it showed the world the true face of Islam. Now these people try to explain it away as “extremism”, instead of calling it what it is “Islam”.

Yes, correct. That “lost generation” are now the ones protesting against this country, ‘taking a knee’ burning our flag and otherwise denouncing everything American. Once the older generation is sufficiently out of the way and out of power, this ‘lost generation’ will take over and finish this country off

And that will happen when healthcare is totally controlled by the government. Rationing will be used, and age will be the main criteria used.

Getting close to children was discussed at the 1993 Philadelphia Meeting, the summit meeting of Hamas leaders in America which was attended, and led by Nihad Awad, the current executive director of CAIR National.comment image

What is truly amazing is that that teachers are so hopelessly stupid that they cannot see what they are bing indoctrinated into. Honestly it is very easy to believe there teaching certificates and now handed out based on how much popcorn university students buy on movie night.

Islam, CAIR are worming their fetid, barbarous doctrine into the malleable minds of our children, not solely in Philly. Frankly, the leftist and Islamic seemingly have little opposition to this propagandizing in guise of education. They will burrow into the minds of the malcontents, the disaffected and the overtly liberal parents in an attempt to convert the vulnerable; the self-righteous parents of the left and those of the ‘gimme-gimme’ mindset. Much of this commenced with Obama and is accelerating today.

Totally agree, in reality the solution to the problem is as you state, really quite simple. And that simplicity would be most effective. I wish Trump would follow your lead.

Doesn’t everyone already know CAIR is a terrorist organization? I though this was common knowledge in 2012.

When is this country going to see that CAIR is a terrorists organization and condemn it. It is crystal clear to anyone with an ounce of common sense that they stand for everything ISIS does.
