Bruce Bawer: “How did a nice Jewish girl from Long Island become the Joan of Arc of the counterjihad movement?”

18

What Bruce Bawer said about FATWA: Hunted in America:

“How did a nice Jewish girl from Long Island become the Joan of Arc of the counterjihad movement? In this remarkably absorbing page-turner of a book, Pamela Geller tells her story – a story of courage in the face not only of the jihadist enemy but of a veritable army of apologists, appeasers, pacifists, whitewashers, self-styled ‘bridge-builders,’ and assorted cowards, careerists, and sellouts. Armed only with the truth and a passionate love of American liberty, Geller has survived their smears and kept hope alive. It’s an inspiring story that I hope will encourage other freedom-lovers to stand up and be counted before it’s too late.”

— Bruce Bawer, author of The Victims’ Revolution: The Rise of Identity Studies and the Closing of the Liberal Mind.

I have been calling Pamela the “Jewish Joan of Ark” for many years, although I can’t say that I have been the first to recognize her immense courage. I have been proud of our Islamophobia during these many years. Although it has become more fashionable to admit and recognize more recently the fact that being Islamophobic is now very rational, there are still those liberals and media out there who believe that our real concerns about the belief system that is Islam is morbid and unrighteous fear. I reject those accusations. Despite the fact that the writings that constitute the books of Islam, promote and preach hate and irreverence, and the conduct of the terrorists make very certain that those who follow the belief system are potentially dangerous animals, there are those out there that have the belief that diversity and humanity will somehow make the believers of what I consider an evil cult, more able to assimilate into the free world societies. That, to me, is the height of stupidity and a complete failure to see what is happening in the real world. People like Pamela are cognizant of the danger represented by these believers, and I continue to commend those guardians of the truth who willing point out the real world conduct of those refugees who are actually destroying free world societies. I am, and will continue to be, a fervent believer that my Islamophobia is not only rational, but absolutely necessary. Without that fear, we will be overrun. I wish Pamela and those out there who believe as I do continued safe and successful protest.

A lot of Jews long ago have replaced their Jewish ethics and values with leftist values and ethics thinking that makes them Jewish. It started, in my lifetime with the Holocaust when many choses not to act. Such cowardly behavior is only justified with leftist values and ethics. I recently heard from a pastor that has the same situation in his community.

I thought that many American Rabbis had betrayed and abandon Israel. But I think I was wrong. They Hate Israel. A rabbi I know got upset when I said something positive about Israel and he did not want me to continue or even discuss the comment as he did with other comments.

At age 12 or so I was growing up in a community that was mourning the holocaust and expressing massive amounts of guilt and hidden cowardice. It was shown by the melodies chosen to sing their songs in synagogues and their conversations. I asked my parents repeatedly what did you know then and what did you do? I never got an answer.

I began to ask questions. I read the book, Exodus and saw the movie. I was shocked how Jews closed their eyes and minds to oncoming dangers. For example the regular pogroms that came at holiday times. The Jews who built Israel had to throw off their Jewish ghetto culture in order to free themselves and become Zionists and build the state of Israel.

This started to open my eyes. I was 11 or 12, when I asked my Hebrew teacher, a very difficult question. Did the Nazis really tie pregnant women’s legs together when they were giving birth? I had read it but could not quite believe it. My teacher said, Yes they did.

I step back or out began to look at my own Jewish / American culture. What we where being told or to believe or what our action should be. I realized that this Jewish / American culture was making decisions for me without my input or my agreement. So I decided to review many of these assumptions to see if I agreed with them.

That began my independent life. I was part of a Zionist youth group that helped me see the world a little differently. Then I went to Israel; lived on Kibbutz, worked in the fields, volunteered to help defend the kibbutz in the 6-day war; visited Jerusalem 3 weeks after it was freed; saw the Wall and visited the temple mount, I was the first one in my family in a thousand or two thousand years to see the Wall.

Two years later I joined the Israel Army. It was my first encounter with Sephardic Jews, they where clearly the majority. I learned about their culture living with them in the Army.

After the Army I return home and began to work in educating college students about Israel. When I discovered three Arab terrorist groups. I reported it to the police and FBI. Neither where allowed to do anything about it by law, at the time. So, I did.

Today. I have all those cultures imputes. This allows me to evaluate everything I encounter objectively and make my own decisions and think independently. It also allows me to reevaluate those decisions when things change or when challenged. It does make me lonely at times. At lest I am able to remain true to myself.

I met Dinesh D’Souza, heard him speak and I saw his film, Hillary’s America, The Secret History of the Democratic Party. Then I understood why the democrats where working with the Muslim Brotherhood. It was not the first time they have done something like that. In fact they have a long history of doing such things. I can no longer support the Democratic Party. I moved to the right or the left has moved extremely far to the left, which, I believe to be the case.

People make big assumptions about me for example: I am an extremist, a racist, and an authoritarian. But, I still the same nice person who has helped people all my life.

Today, I make cakes, Cheesecakes and share slices with others, I shop for food for those who can’t, I drive people to the doctor, I help parents with their children, and I explain learning disabilities, dyslexic, to others. I teach people about the dangers of Islam and I help Israel with the Israel Longhorn Project. http://longhornproject.org

When I was 12 year’s old my parents took my two brothers and me downtown to a very old, special and fancy downtown and theater on Market Street.

It was the first time my parents ever did anything like that in my short life. We where very poor, I did not know what we were doing it was out of the ordinary.

Growing up in the early 1960 in the San Francisco Jewish community who was still suffering from the effects of the Holocaust. They were extremely afraid and timid. You could see it in their behavior and hear it in their synagogue songs.

It was the first showing of the film Exodus. My parents dressed up and we went downtown either by car or streetcar. I remember crossing Market with my parents and my brothers holding hands.

The theater was very big inside and real fancy like it was built some time between the 1920’ s-1940.

I did not know what to expect. The film started with the Music and pulled me into it. It showed me a world and a time I knew very little about. It changed me. I was shy and timed little boy who did not know who I was or where I belong.

Everyone around me was suffering in silence, the Holocaust. It showed me the feeling of death that surrounded me.

When I left the film I had changed. I felt a sprit or ghost of a young girl who died in the Holocaust, over my right shoulder. I knew I had to live a life for the two of us.

I began helping others and have been doing so all my life.

Thank you for your post, Robin. I think it’s the most meaningful one I’ve ever seen on this site.

I am sure many people here know more about this history than I do, but two examples of people who stood up come to mind. Rabbi Stephen Wise, a reform rabbi from Cincinnati, OH, tried to bring the plight of European Jews to the US government’s attention, and travelled to Washington to make their plea. FDR was uninterested.

Another group worthy of an acknowledgement is fundamentalist Christians. Some of their journals during the war years indicated an awareness of Nazi extermination and expressed concern that, to the best of my knowledge, did not lead to any effective action.

“Domesticated Jews” such as Justice Frankfurter and custodians of the newspaper of record, which claimed to cover “all the news that’s fit to print”, did not want to jeopardize their status.

I guess she saw them exactly as they were, “…..but of a veritable army of apologists, appeasers, pacifists, whitewashers, self-styled “bridge-builders,” and assorted cowards, careerists, and sellouts”.

But how come Hollowood women couldn’t see Harvey Weinstein like that? Could it be the women were “….a veritable army of apologists, appeasers, pacifists, whitewashers, self-styled “bridge-builders,” and assorted cowards, careerists, and sellouts.”

I dunno, just say’n…..

Newsflash – Joan of Arc was NOT burnt at the stake. She did not die. The English did not kill her. It was MADE TO LOOK as if she had been killed. That was six hundred years ago.

This was Mohammed’s message about Jesus – he was not crucified, he did not die, it was MADE TO LOOK as if he had. That denial was six hundred years AFTER the event.

Convincing, isn’t it?
