The global jihad rages on — our boys were murdered today. It’s not just Niger, it’s the whole of the African continent – Nigeria, Mauritania, Kenya, Chad, the Central African Republic, Algeria, Libya …..

Three Green Berets killed, two wounded in Niger ambush

October 4, 2017, By Lucas Tomlinson, Fox News (thanks to Joe):

Three U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers were killed and two others were wounded Wednesday in an ambush in the west African country of Niger.

U.S. Africa Command confirmed that a joint patrol of Green Berets and Nigerien soldiers was attacked in the southwestern part of Niger, near the border with Mali. Officials told Fox News that between eight and 10 troops were part of the patrol.

Officials told the Associated Press that the commandos were likely attacked by Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said that President Trump had been briefed on the ambush by Chief of Staff John Kelly.

Africa Command says the U.S. forces are in Niger to provide training and security assistance to the Nigerien Armed Forces in their efforts against violent extremists.

Niger, a former French colony, is one of the poorest nations in the world. In April, the State Department issued a travel warning advising American citizens against visiting the landlocked country’s border regions, including the area where the ambush took place.

“Due to security concerns and travel restrictions, the U.S. Embassy’s ability to assist U.S. citizens in remote and rural areas is very limited,” read the statement, which also warned of the possibility of kidnapping.

Keep expanding the drone fleet, so we have enough to hunt down the terrorists in remote areas, and provide drone escorts for ground patrols.

No way will drones replace on the ground troops. They certainly have their uses but they are NOT infantry.

“Africa Command says the U.S. forces are in Niger to provide training and
security assistance to the Nigerien Armed Forces in their efforts
against violent extremists.” BS! A simple search will reveal that Niger is rich in Uranium, gold, coal, iron, petroleum, etc. And they expect us to believe our troops died because they were defending the corrupt Nigerian forces????? Come on!

They were training combat troops. This is not uncommon and is what Green Berets do. They are the quiet professionals that go about their dangerous jobs every day with out seeking lime light or fanfare. Yet they provide the bulk of Special Operations forces. Nothing suspicious about this no matter how much gold. Troops still need field training.

You are so right! Blood for oil. Blood for resources. The US is not threatened by the perpetual civil wars in muslim countries. Thus, the US should STOP invading them. Our soldiers should be fighting only the threats against us. The globalists’ quest for oil and resources will not be quenched no matter how many of our young men die in a battle that is never won.

Looks like the now muslim Nigerian president sacked the so efficient African mercenaries hired by the previous Christian president. A real show of determination that as these mercenaries had the Boko Harem swine on the run totally. perhaps the US army should hire them as they actually know how to fight muslims (e.g, they use NO muslims as help at any level) and they show the enemy the same mercy that they can expect from them: none.

The US forces have no legitimate reason to be in Niger.

You are 100% correct! Theirs is a civil war, not a threat to US. We never win and our soldiers die for political and economic reasons. NOT legitimate.

Ambushed? No doubt in my mind the info came from the “troops” the beret were working with. Like is always does.

Fighting terrorists, Niger is on the route from West Africa to Libya – by open lorry. There also extensive gas wells around that part of the world as well as sand dunes 1400 feet high.

Of all the places in the world to have a war, Niger, Mali Chad etc are at the top of the list. No civilisation is at risk, no worthwhile ancient ruins from the classical world, only gas, dust, rocks, Camel spiders and scorpions. {look up the spiders}.

The French army have been there years duffing up the sooties.

Doubtless the Muslim Niger military provided detailed route and time information to the Maghreb
Al Qaeda forces. In that respect they resemble our “allies” in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Per Fox news: “It is not clear if any U.S. aircraft were overhead at the time. Niger does not allow armed drones to take off from a base shared with the United States.”

Our brave young men should not be dying in places they don’t belong! The US should stop invading countries fighting a civil war. Blood for oil must stop!

Dying for oil, gas, resources in the middle of another civil war we should not be engaged in.
