Iran’s president Hassan Rouhani said before the U.N. General Assembly that guaranteeing security for Israel was impossible so long as the Jewish nation “usurped” lands supposedly belonging to the Palestinians.
He made the outrageous remark while pleading with U.N. powers-who-be to preserve the Iran treaty deal in its current form.
Rouhani also slammed President Donald Trump’s remarks to the United Nations as bombastic and “ugly,” and characterized them as inciteful.

Rouhani, speaking Wednesday, derided the tough talk about his country delivered a day earlier by President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the launch of this year’s General Assembly in New York. His Twitter feed posted the lines as he spoke.
“Ugly, ignorant words were spoken by the U.S. president against the Iranian nation,” he said. “It’s disgraceful that the Zionist regime not committed to any international instrument or safeguard has the audacity to preach to peaceful nations.”
Trump and Netanyahu in their speeches both cast Iran as a rogue nation and said the 2015 nuclear deal trading sanctions relief for a rollback in Iran’s nuclear program was an “embarrassment.” Trump hinted there would a change in U.S. posture toward the deal, and Netanyahu said it should either be amended or canceled outright.
Rouhani, whose government still fends off criticism from Iranian hardliners opposed to the plan, cast it as a template for international peace deals.
“It belongs to the international community in its entirety and not only one or two countries,” he said of the deal otherwise known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. “The JCPOA can be a new model for global interactions.” Iran, he said, would “not be the first” to violate the deal.
Rouhani insisted that missile testing was “only for deterrence.” Trump and Netanyahu have said that Iran’s missile advances and its military adventurism are also reasons to re-examine the Iran deal.
The Iranian leader called for peaceful coexistence, but appeared to extend his invitation to everyone but Israel.
“It is not possible for a rogue and racist regime to trample upon the most basic rights of the Palestinians, and be usurpers of this land and enjoy security,” he said.
Rouhani’s predecessors and Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, have said they regard the entirety of Israel as illegitimate. Rouhani has not made his views clear.
He twice mentioned ancient Iranian gestures of friendship toward the Jews as exemplars of the current regime’s alleged commitment to diversity.
“We are the same people who rescued the Jews from Babylonian servility,” he said, referring to the Jewish communities established in Persia after they wer expelled by the Babylonians from Judea in the sixth century BCE. “Historically backing the oppressed, Iran upholds the right of the Palestinian people as it did those of the Jewish people centuries ago.”

This article is more evidence that the so-called two state solution can never happen. The Arabs simply will never accept the creation of the country of Israel by the U.N. They have already taken military action on a number of occasions. As long as that mindset permeates their thinking the possibility of a safe two state solution just seems to be an unreal expectation. The answer to the problem is to offer the so-called displaced people an invitation to live within those Arab countries that should offer them appropriate living conditions within the Arab countries own borders, simultaneously creating secure and defensible borders for the Israeli’s. Unfortunately, as long as the Arabs consider Israel’s people to be usurpers of so-called Palestinian land, though the creation of Israel was legally authorized by a body politic, the U.N., and was the original home for the Jewish people, the concept of a two state solution just will never happen, unless the people involved accept Israel as a non-occupier with international rights to exist as a state.

I think if you look a little closer, you will find that President Harry S Truman and the U.S.A. did a hellava lot more to create the country of Israel than the UN ever did! The only “land” the Palestinians deserve is a strip 3 feet wide, 6 feet long, and 6feet deep! The only reason this country has been so successful is because of the covenant between Abraham and the only living God, Yehweh! “Those that Bless My people, I will Bless!”

Opinions from some third world theocratic despot who wipes his backside with his hand or a twig have a very tenuous grasp on reality, because under Trump, Israel will not face down Iran alone, Rouhani is going to risk a blockade by sea or a military thrashing he and his goons will never forget.
Today OR tomorrow, he’ll be able to do nothing to disrupt a naval blockade, not even missiles aimed at Gulf bases will avail Iran, Patriot’s will down them if particle beams are not ready, mine layers sunk before they leave port.
If the youth of Iran are protected and courted, and they see a chance to rid themselves of that which ails them, they’ll probably take the chance, who knows, what have they to lose ?

Iran hasn’t been helping the Palestinian cause–they’ve used them to wage jihad against Israel. It’s hypocrisy for Iran’s leader to say he supports Palestinians, when he’s probably just looking for any reason to hate Israel.
