Social media giants have readily accepted the mantle of the new totalitarians.
Facebook will also step up its monitoring of hate speech, adding 3,000 [sharia-compliant] content reviewers to nearly double the size of its existing team. Who decides what’s good and what’s forbidden? Why is anti-semitic, anti-Israel propaganda rampant on Facebook, while criticism of jihad and sharia is censored and scrubbed?
“There is absolutely no place on Facebook for hate speech or content that promotes violence or terrorism,” Everson said.

There is absolutely no place for one party rule in a constitutional republic. There is no place for totalitarian speech restrictions on a free society.
“As soon as we determine that content has breached our community standards, we remove it. With a community as large as Facebook, however, zero tolerance cannot mean zero occurrence.”
Germany is one of Facebook’s toughest critics on hate speech and privacy. The notorious Germans are going to determine our speech restrictions? Been there, done that.
How much worse will it get? They have already blocked my website and newsfeed. Google has scrubbed my website and buried search results critical of Islam, jihad and sharia.
Facebook, together with Alphabet’s Google, accounts for around two fifths of internet advertising, which is forecast by consultancy Zenith to grow by 13 percent to $205 billion this year – overtaking television as the biggest channel for companies to pitch their wares to consumers.
That is frightening. More money, more control, more censorship. Never in modern history has so much power been in the hands of so few. President Trump and/or Congress needs to hold hearings on this concentration of power and by way of anti-trust laws or legislation break up this cartel of social media power in the information battle-space.
Facebook’s new rules aim to make it harder for fake news to profit

COLOGNE, Germany – Facebook said on Wednesday it would introduce tougher rules on who can make money from advertising on its network, responding to criticism that it makes it too easy for providers of fake news and sensational headlines to cash in.
With immediate effect, the world’s largest social network will launch new standards to provide clearer guidance on which publishers are eligible to earn money on Facebook and with what content, Senior Vice President for Global Marketing Solutions Carolyn Everson said in a blog post.
These standards would apply to ad placements where context could matter, Everson wrote in the post, timed to coincide with an appearance on Wednesday by Facebook’s Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg at dmexco, a major digital marketing gathering in Cologne, Germany.
Germany is one of Facebook’s toughest critics on hate speech and privacy. Its parliament passed a law in June to introduce fines of up to 50 million euros ($60 million) for social media networks if they fail to remove hateful postings promptly.
Facebook, together with Alphabet’s Google, accounts for around two fifths of internet advertising, which is forecast by consultancy Zenith to grow by 13 percent to $205 billion this year – overtaking television as the biggest channel for companies to pitch their wares to consumers.
Facebook has faced criticism from marketers that digital ads distributed to its more than 2 billion monthly active users were not reaching their intended audience, were not being adequately tracked, and in some cases were being placed with content detrimental to the brands being promoted.
“We hear them loud and clear,” Everson wrote.
“We take very seriously our responsibility to earn and maintain the trust of our advertiser partners – and give them the confidence they need to invest in us.”

The more you censor, the fewer readers you get, even the dim bulb businesses that advertise in your printed bigotry are starting to notice.

Brietbart news has gone from strength to strength it has actually worked AGAINST the establishment.

Don’t do facebook unless absolutely necessary.
Behead all nonbelievers sure sounds like hate speech to me. So does pigs in a blanket. But our Constitution guarantees our right to expression, like it or not. What gives social media the right to tell us what we can or cannot say or read.

First, Don Whitbeck below is right on correct. Those who own Facebook and Google and some other sites are the ones who are dead wrong. Yes they are publicly traded companies, but being as large as they are carries with it responsibilities to honour each country they operate in. They have little or no rite to eliminate postings they dislike. Bell telephone was broken up to reduce its hold over the people. Break up these monopolies too. Do it now.
