When this story first broke I saw a few preliminary reports claiming that the killer was white and a Christian. There was definitely a sense of excitement in the reports that another white Christian had shot up a church. Later I started to see reports that the killer was black and was an “immigrant” from Sudan brought here as a child. All those earlier reports mysteriously disappeared and the more accurate reports became few and far between with very little information outside of the possibility that the killer obtained at least one of his guns through legal means. Detailed information about this killing has become virtually impossible to find.
