Bannon: ‘The Trump Presidency That We Fought For, and Won, Is Over.’

Boom. There it is.

Bannon said what we were all thinking.

Trump, you dance with the one who brought you. Trump’s election was a rejection of those now running the show at the White House. Betrayal.

Bannon: ‘The Trump Presidency That We Fought For, and Won, Is Over.’

Departed White House strategist speaks to THE WEEKLY STANDARD.

Aug 18, 2017 | By Peter J. Boyer

With the departure from the White House of strategist Stephen K. Bannon, who helped shape the so-called nationalist-populist program embraced by Donald Trump in his unlikely path to election, a new phase of the Trump presidency begins. Given Trump’s nature, what comes next will hardly be conventional, but it may well be less willfully disruptive—which, to Bannon, had been the point of winning the White House.

“The Trump presidency that we fought for, and won, is over,” Bannon said Friday, shortly after confirming his departure. “We still have a huge movement, and we will make something of this Trump presidency. But that presidency is over. It’ll be something else. And there’ll be all kinds of fights, and there’ll be good days and bad days, but that presidency is over.”

Bannon says that he will return to the helm of Breitbart, the rambunctious right-wing media enterprise he ran until joining the Trump campaign as chief executive last August. At the time, the campaign was at its nadir, and Trump was trailing Hillary Clinton in the polls by double digits.

Although his influence with the president waxed and waned, Bannon’s standing in the Trump circle was always precarious. Among the senior advisers competing with Bannon in trying to shape Trump’s agenda, and his tone, were the president’s daughter, Ivanka, and son-in-law, Jared. Bannon pointedly voiced criticism of those in the president’s sphere whom he considered to be globalists, or liberals (or both), and the president himself plainly bristled over the early attention that Bannon got from the press (including a Time magazine cover, which is said to have particularly irked Trump).

Bannon says that his departure was voluntary, and that he’d planned it to coincide with the one-year anniversary of his joining the Trump campaign as chief executive, on August 14, 2016.

“On August 7th , I talked to [Chief of Staff John] Kelly and to the President, and I told them that my resignation would be effective the following Monday, on the 14th,” he said. “I’d always planned on spending one year. General Kelly has brought in a great new system, but I said it would be best. I want to get back to Breitbart.”

Bannon says that with the tumult in Charlottesville last weekend, and the political fallout since, Trump, Kelly, and he agreed to delay Bannon’s departure, but that he and Kelly agreed late this week that now was the time for Bannon to leave.

Bannon may have resigned, but it was clear from the time that Kelly became chief of staff that Bannon’s remaining time in the West Wing was going to be short. Kelly undertook a study of the West Wing’s operating system, and let it be known that he kept hearing about Bannon as a disruptive force and a source of leaks aimed at undermining his rivals. One of those, with whom Kelly is deeply in sympathy, is National Security Adviser H. R. McMaster, who clashed forcefully with Bannon over such policies as strategy for the war in Afghanistan.

It is plainly Bannon’s view that his departure is not a defeat for him personally, but for the ideology he’d urged upon the president, as reflected in Trump’s provocative inaugural address—in which he spoke of self-dealing Washington politicians, and their policies that led to the shuttered factories and broken lives of what he called “American carnage.” Bannon co-authored that speech (and privately complained that it had been toned down by West Wing moderates like Ivanka and Jared).

Civilization runs in “cycles”- Islam will self-destruct; in fact, it survives on the inertia of remaining European technology. What is there as the West collapses is all that the third worlders will have, and THAT will
last maybe 10 or 20 years thereafter.

Look at Cuba- time stood still after the rift with USA, and they simply kept driving 1950’s / 1960’s cars until
today. Look at many of the former colonies- languishing in decaying buildings built by 1800’s sailing merchants and still riding railroads (literally clinging to the roof of passenger cars) barely changed from Victorian times.

Saudi’s can’t even engineer their own TOOTHBRUSHES- when machines stop spinning and people stop using oil- they’ll go right back to drinking camel urine, like their Middle Eastern cousins. How often have Westerners shown others how to dig water wells- what Neolithic Europeans could do with stone tools, yet with modern technologies, they STILL cannot master the technique?

The West has cured or contained every major pandemic (Zika, AIDS, Ebola, etc.) and, as its influence wanes, the “Islam that will dominate” will go extinct as the next pandemic easily wipes them out, and the remaining handful of Western strongholds (likely the Visegrad Slavics) will reclaim the greatness of humanity. (Nature has its own way of purging abominations…)

You keep saying ‘islam will dominate.’ Saying it over and over, isn’t going to make it so. That may be your wildest wet dream come true but, what you fail to see, is that the U.S. has an awful lot of armed citizens, willing to do whatever is necessary to defend this country, if need be. So, GFY with your islamic propaganda bullsh*t.

Breitbart rationalized him, intellectualized him–apparently inappropriately. Must face up to the likelihood he was merely a brash attention seeker who won on the strange fluke that at that point the public was ready for that viewpoint. He never expected to win.

Not over but Bannon is right, no one ever imagined that threats of death, violence in the street, lies from media, attacks on families would be part of any Presidency in this country. Interference at all levels have occurred unabated, without an ounce of respect for this nation or its people. We are swimming up river in a sea of serpents, they do not want America to be a Christian nation but a socialist run by a few Corporations and Kings in palaces that we would pay for. I am with Bannon and Trump, never give up our freedom, but yes, the Presidency that he dreamed for Trump is dead, the one resurrected will be stronger and more determined. God Bless our freedom

Yes. Trump won the Republican Primaries, made his comments about illegals, and about the radical muslim ban; long BEFORE Bannon came along!

I would just put Newt Gingrich or Rudy Giuliani or (heck even Mitt Romney to calm things down and unite).

No. he’s been defending the President Trump and Steve Bannon (he’s not a democrapper like Carter. He’s a Truman Democrat. there’s a difference). He wrote the book on defending Israel.
Mr. Dershowitz says he gets more anti-semitic comments from the FAR LEFT these days.

Evangelicals quote him on Israel too.

Newt is against the Iran Deal. He is a staunch defender of US military and our ally Israel on the War on Terror.

Derso. is Jewish and loves Israel. Other than that he is a LIBERAL Democrat! Geesh!

He often threatens to leave the Dem party but never does. The DNC is an angry American hating anchor baby, Perez, with his deputy being Ellison a Muslim hating American. Even that didn’t stop him from leaving the DEMS.

Spare me the one trick pony stuff. Sure Newt is for Israel and so is Dersh. but that ALL they offer.

I don’t want a TRUMAN Democrat mentality either! GEESH!

Either trump is ignorant or under influence of loons like ivanka and her liberal loon kushner .

Jihadis are in America and working steadily to takeover and impose sharia drip by drip and Left/Liberal useful idiots are helping them out of ignorance or cash or stupidity.

Recently Trump got conned by Al-taqiya from Abbas but once he learnt the truth, boy was he furious as hell http://bit.ly/2rOmfyJ

He does not mince words unlike previous spineless Presidents.

Bannon was forced to go as he is supposed to have “leaked” info but by the Logic even Mc Master and his deputy Dina Habib must go.

Its upto conservatives to organize themselves into groups and keep up the pressure on Trump to stay the course and keep demanding he remove
pro-Jihadi obama holdovers who are worsening the security threat.

I resent the remark that America is a “Christian” nation. It is not and never was. It was very specifically and deliberately designed as a nation that has separation of church and state and does not have any national religion. In fact, its founding fathers were mostly masons who eschewed traditional organized religions, ESPECIALLY Christianity. Our laws are heavily based in Freemasonry, which draws from the Judaic Talmud.

How about YOU educate yourself. I stand by my remark, “toots.” The Congress, which wasn’t around during the times of the founding founders were crafting our Constitution, was also made up mostly of Masons. To be a “Christian” nation, would mean that the church rules by the church’s laws. It does not.

My family long ago sat at the same table as Patrick Henry, they like the rest risked everything for our freedom and Christianity whether you like it or not was a huge part of their determination. Interesting that today so many want to change our history, change our founding fathers, but frankly they can’t.

“If there’s any confusion out there, let me clear it up: I’m leaving the White House
and going to war for Trump against his opponents — on capitol hill, in the media, and in corporate America,” Bannon said Friday in an interview hours after his departure was announced by the administration.

When America (sans deranged, brain dead, zombie like , pro-muslim “progressives”) will witness the demise of major, western European countries by the cancer of Islam (the first country to die as a functioning western democracy will probably be Sweden, Belgium, France and even Germany, are not far behind), it will wake up from the intoxicating haze/delusions of denial and PC and become DEAD serious re best ways to deal with a subversive enemy within (rebellious/treasonous US Muslims and their zombie like “progressive” enablers)

Their is a tipping point not to far from now (with in the next five years) when Muslims in America will have a choice to make, be loyal to America and the American constitution or be deported back to the God forsaken wastelands of the Middle East / North Africa

The Hubris of Muslim supremacist zealots will be silenced for ever, by Patriotic Americans (In the WH/Administration, The Military, Law Enforcement and Citizenry) that will enforce US policies, the law and impalement their 2nd amendment…

And so, Trump has been swallowed (at least partially) by the mighty swamp. I’m now expecting an oedipal drama developping – Trump, obviously under a lot of nasty – the Left – pressure put his trust in the wrong persons – by being disloyal to, not to say by betraying Bannon – he will experience disloyalty or even betrayal by those he trusted: looking at you, Ivanka and your husband – you might not be the snakes in the grass, but you strike me as snakes nevertheless.
Thank you, Mr. Bannon, for giving America and the rest of the battered West a moment of hope ! Fare well !

Then soon after they had been threated by boycott by their advertisers, or something, then Milo gets kicked out and now Bannon- the-Cannon (ready, aim, FIRED).

You gotta stop this hypocrisy. It shows in subtle ways and has a strong conscious affects on those that watch you.

A pro Muslim Brotherhood politician (Stupid and/or corrupt…) and his bona fide MB operative “aid”, having major influence in steering US policy re ‘War On Terror’…

The only silver lining in the way this situation unfolded, is that Bannon on the out side, back on the helm of Breitbart, will hopefully be able to expose McMaster, for the traitor he is and promote his ousting from the WH, hopefully sooner than later

There is no place for “moderates” to stand in any welfare state, including this one. All Americans are either successfully supportive of collectivism’s welfare state _enforced redistribution_ of goods and services, necessarily based on the divisions of race and/or class to differentiate its PC looters from those targeted for looting.

Or they are unsuccessfully supportive of individualism’s _cooperative redistribution_, in
which the only exclusionary divisions are between those who prefer to
support themselves with the mutually profitable creation and exchange of
values, and its necessary retention of personal control of property and
profits vs those who prefer a lifestyle supported by politicized looting.

The final hours of every welfare state end with a PC choice of a scapegoat to blame for inevitable degenerative socio-economic failure of welfare state thieves to fulfill their usual
promise… that the more that taxes and regulatory favoritism confiscate
from the productive and shower upon counterproductive political thieves and their political enablers, (politicians and tax funded universities, ) the
more peaceful and prosperous the entire population. Which scapegoat will be chosen and persecuted by politicians and their university commie/nazi propaganda wing to complete America’s repetition of welfare state history. The available PC choices for America’s successful welfare state collectivists appear to be gulags for the rich, concentration camps for whites or a Christian holocaust.

Bannon THINKS BIG
https://www.axios.com/what-is-steve-bannon-doing-now-breitbart-network-2474727174.html?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=organic

Steve Bannon is thinking bigger than Breitbart.

Axios’ Jonathan Swan hears Bannon has told friends he sees a massive opening to the right of Fox News, raising the possibility that he’s going to start a network.

Bannon’s friends are speculating about whether it will be a standalone TV network, or online streaming only.
Before his death in May, Roger Ailes had sent word to Bannon that he wanted to start a channel together. Bannon loved the idea: He believes Fox is heading in a squishy, globalist direction as the Murdoch sons assume more power.
Now he has the means, motive and opportunity: His chief financial backer, Long Island hedge fund billionaire Bob Mercer, is ready to invest big in what’s coming next, including a huge overseas expansion of Breitbart News.

On Day 1, Bannon declared he’s taking his West Wing infighting to the outside, telling Bloomberg Businessweek’s Josh Green that he’s “going to war for Trump against his opponents — on Capitol Hill, in the media, and in corporate America.”

The reality is that Bannon will go nuclear on former colleagues he calls “West Wing Democrats”: economic adviser Gary Cohn, Jared and Ivanka (“Javanka,” as he calls them) and Deputy National Security Adviser Dina Powell.
The revved-up Breitbart operation is also likely to target Speaker Ryan, as it did before Trump.

Why it matters: The country’s national political conversation is about to get even uglier, if you can imagine. It’s going to be dark, and toxic, with a fight on the right that may be more bitter and personal than hostilities between Republicans and Democrats.

Bannon signaled his subtle approach in a for-the-ages Weekly Standard interview: “The Trump presidency that we fought for, and won, is over … I feel jacked up … Now I’m free. I’ve got my hands back on my weapons. … I am definitely going to crush the opposition. There’s no doubt. I built a f***ing machine at Breitbart. And now … we’re about to rev that machine up.”
His restoration as executive chairman of Breitbart News was announced less than five hours after the White House confirmed his “mutually agreed” departure as chief strategist. (Translation: He was told he wasn’t long for the West Wing.)
Bannon made a “conqueror’s return” to a Breitbart editorial conference call last night, and laid out the battle ahead for the staff.
Josh Green — author of “Devil’s Bargain,” the book that helped get Bannon fired because Trump hates sharing the spotlight — tweeted: “Bannon sounded like he’d just consumed 40 Red Bulls … At least [he] didn’t say he’s leaving to spend more time with his family.”

Around the corner: Expect Bannon to use Breitbart to engage aggressively in September’s policy fights. Watch for Bannon to pressure Trump to veto any government funding bill that doesn’t include money to fund the building of that big, beautiful wall he promised along the southern border with Mexico.

Watch for a real fight over the debt ceiling. In other words: Buckle up.

Perhaps Bannon is needed more at Breibart. I do not agree that is is “over.” Pres. Trump still has quite a lot of fight in him. For all we know, this could be another very strategic move. After all, we do not know everything and can’t possibly know what went on behind closed doors, or what they decided. This looks like another signature Trump move. Let’s hope so. Fingers crossed. The alternative is unacceptable.

Bannon represents the will and the hopes of the American people as much as Trump, maybe more.
Trump isn’t an island, he needs the voices of people who reflect America, not liberals who reflect globalism and socialism.
It’s a sad day and Trump may well look back on Bannon leaving as the beginning of the end of the hopes of America.
