Trump Slams Sessions for Russia Recusal: ‘I Would’ve Picked Somebody Else’

15

President Donald Trump spoke bluntly about his attorney general’s recusal from all-things-Russia, telling the national media that had he known then-Sen. Jeff Sessions was planning on relinquishing that investigative role, he never would’ve picked him for the Cabinet spot in the first place.

Sessions recused himself weeks ago. But Trump, in an interview this week, made clear the recusal is still a sore spot.

From CNN (h/t New York Times):

Trump’s remarks, in a 50-minute interview with The New York Times, represent an extraordinary rebuke from the President toward the nation’s top law enforcement official who happens to be one of his earliest political allies.

“Jeff Sessions takes the job, gets into the job, recuses himself, which frankly I think is very unfair to the President,” Trump said, referring to himself. “How do you take a job and then recuse yourself? If he would have recused himself before the job, I would have said, ‘Thanks, Jeff, but I’m not going to take you.’ It’s extremely unfair — and that’s a mild word — to the President.”

Before Trump had a lock on the Republican nomination last year, Sessions became the first sitting senator to back the real estate mogul’s presidential bid.

But several months into the job, Trump’s warm feelings for Sessions have clearly cooled. In the interview, Trump scolded Sessions for telling the Senate judiciary committee that he had not met with any Russians during the campaign. It was later revealed he had met with Sergey Kislyak, the Russian ambassador to the US, at least two times.

Sessions later amended his testimony.

“Jeff Sessions gave some bad answers,” the President said. “He gave some answers that were simple questions and should have been simple answers, but they weren’t.”
A Justice Department spokeswoman declined to comment to CNN about the President’s remarks regarding Sessions. But a source familiar with his thinking said Sessions has no intention of stepping down as attorney general in the wake of Trump’s comments.

At least he took the Job , its not easy job . Look at Trey Gowdy , he used to go on and on about “investigating” Obama , Hillary crimes and achived nothing but wasting time and getting paid for it but when Trump offered FBI chief Job he declined ! Typical useless politician.

Then we have Paul Ryan , MC Cain and other Lobby puppets subverting everything Trump stood for during election !

While Muslim “refugees” pour in and after they settle down Muslim youths practice the art of torturing and beheading infidels http://bit.ly/2tlUWt3 …….to prepare for future jihadi attacks !

I think Sessions has recused himself from all normal Attorney General activities except the deporting illegals which is very good.
But, so many criminal acts by the previous regime are just being swept into the dustbin of history..
IRS, emails, selling stategic resources & information to hostile governments, unmasking intelligence personel, energy loan fraud, election fraud, the list just keeps getting longer..
(Nobody has asked what service Clinton performed for the Russians that inspired them to contribute $145 million to the Clinton Foundation.)
Nobody has raised the issue.
God help the Trumps if the Russians contributed $145 million to a Trump charity.
Democrats only obey the laws they like and for some reason gleefully skate justice everytime..
And the republicans are oblivious to the criminal behavior or they don’t want 3 bullets in the back or a mysterious suicide or plane crash.
We are dealing with pure evil & evil has been winning for a long time.
Jeff probably has this recurring nightmare of waking up to a pillow over his face.
Anybody would.comment image

Sessions made a tragic error the thinking behind which was borne of far too many years on the inside of the U.S. Senate social club. Whether it proves to be the root and the cause of the demise of Trump and the United States of America only time will tell.
Hopefully everyone has learned that we can’t play nice with the mob. We have to punch them in the mouth knock them to the ground and if they try to get back up kick the bloody sh*t out of them.
Every last one of them.
We can start with Samantha Powers.

Recusing is not an act of leadership. The old grey south end of north facing horses are going to have to be replaced with people who can and will do the jobs that need to be done.

It was unnecessary for Sessions to recuse himself – only in the last few weeks did the Russia narrative finally die, and it can still be revived quickly; recusal did no good.

I understand it takes time to build a good solid case for whatever he’s working on, but at the same time, he’s gotta show that something’s being done.

I know that in a matter of weeks, more were arrested for pedophila in the first month or so this year, than all of 2014. If he wants to make a bigger splash in busting pedophiles with far bigger names, he has to do it soon.

At the same time, Trump shouldn’t have said that at all in his interview. – who else is he gonna find for AG?

Trump is right – and Sessions has been a BIG disappointment, to put it mildly! His recusal has enabled the snake, Mueller, to start building the biggest investigative empire in DOJ history (after Watergate, of course!). That, apparently, the investigation has no limits is a travesty of justice – and much of it could have been avoided had Sessions stood strong and stuck to the facts! No one asked for or expected his recusal, but we now see the REAL damage that avoiding his difficult responsibility has caused!

President Trump’s frustration is easy to understand for those of us who voted for him. He is up against dyed-in-the-wool members of what Ted Cruz termed the “Washington cartel”, those who do NOT want to see Trump demonstrate the business like manner in which Washington can operate. It will destroy their cushy little sand castle. I remember during the Presidential campaign a day where Trump had five appearances scheduled and he had completed the third one of them before Hillary’s bladder even kicked in.

Already there is an element, TEA Party Patriots among them, who are promoting and financing reelection opponents for the obstructionist incumbents of both parties.

Surely Jeff Sessions knows that the country needs for this “Russian” crap to go away. The liberal media continues to vomit up “Russia, Russia, Russia” with no shred of evidence to show. Lets get more conservatives elected next year and get rid of these RINO traitors.

President Trump is right. There was no valid reason for Sessions to recuse from investigation. In fact very first thing Sessions should have done is to reopen investigation against Hillary Clinton and put her in jail.

President Trump needs to start looking for a replacement that has the teeth & balls to do the job. Session recused himself because the job is far over his head and is scared he may get his head thumped by the media. What a vagina.
