Pamela Geller banned and this designated Islamic terrorist group given free rein. What a disgrace. The UK is doomed. Norming the Nazis.
This is what surrender to Islam looks like.
American is not immune – this is analogous to terror and sharia supporter Sarsour giving the keynote address at the commencement ceremonies at CUNY.
But who does the UK consider the real danger?
Fury as radical Islamist gives headline speech at university campaign group HQ
A RADICAL Islamist group facing a government ban has sparked outrage across the country after a senior member gave a keynote speech at the headquarters of Universities UK.
By Sofia Petkar, The Express, Jul 31, 2017:
- The Hizb ut-Tahrir is a Salafi movement blacklisted across parts of Europe and much of the Middle East for its public support of a caliphate and the introduction of Sharia law throughout the Islamic world.
- Described in Government reports as anti-semitic, homophobic and anti-Western, the group has hit the headlines multiple times, most recently for encouraging British Muslims not to vote in the General Election, and praising the concept of jihad.
- Hizb ut-Tahrir, meaning “Party of Liberation,” was founded by Palestinian Taqiuddin al-Nabhani al-Filastyni in 1953, with chapters operating in more than 40 countries, and has been described as a “conveyer belt for terrorists”.
Jamal Harwood’s participation at the event was not disclosed to the venue
The movement has incited fury once again, after its national executive Jamal Harwood addressed delegates at the Great Debate event, held at the Woburn House Conference Centre earlier this year.
The centre is owned by advocacy organisation Universities UK (UUK), which represents the higher education sector across the country.
Outrage after Jamal Harwood was chosen as a keynote speaker
Hizb ut-Tahrir is one of the organisations “no platformed” by the National Union of Students, with a number of universities cancelling events when learning speakers from this organisation are on the line-up.Introduced in 1974, the NUS’ “No Platform” policy prevents individuals or groups known to hold racist or fascist views from speaking at NUS events.
It also ensures NUS officers will not share a public platform with individuals or groups known to hold racist or fascist views.
The union has only six organisations listed under this policy at present – Al-Muhajiroun, British National Party, English Defence League, Hizb ut-Tahrir, Muslim Public Affairs Committee and National Action.
The external event was hosted at Woburn House in London
It has emerged Mr Harwood spoke as part of a panel titled “Is the Caliphate a viable alternative for the Middle East?” alongside a professor from SOAS University of London, at the event held in April.Conservative MP Andrew Bridgen expressed his fury at the inclusion of Harwood in the line-up, saying: “What possessed them to consider this a group to be invited onto their premises and indulge in their extreme views of Islamic domination?
“I think they need to explain what they were thinking and what they were hoping to achieve by hosting this group?”
However, Universities UK claim they had no idea of the controversial addition to the event line-up, insisting the information had not been disclosed to the conference centre at the time of booking.
The group has been described as a “conveyer belt for terrorists”
A spokesman for Universities UK told the Express.co.uk: “This was not a Universities UK event. It was an event booked by an external organisation at Woburn House Conference Centre.
“Woburn House Conference Centre were not informed that a speaker from Hizb ut-Tahrir would be taking part in this external, evening event.“Had they been made aware that a Hizb ut-Tahrir representative was involved, the event would not have been allowed to take place.”
“The event was described simply as a Great Debate. It is now clear that information about the event was withheld by the organisers.
“Woburn House Conference Centre will not allow the organiser to book any future events at the venue.”
Express.co.uk contacted the National Union of Students, who declined to comment, and the Hizb ut-Tahrir, who are yet to respond.
